Central (2nd Season) to Present Record: (.273) Concordia (3 Seasons) to Record: (.451) OVERALL (5th Season) Record: (.389) NCCU HEAD COACH TRISHA STAFFORD-ODOM Trisha Stafford-Odom was announced as North Carolina Central University s ninth head women s basketball coach in May of She has a reputation as one of the nation s top recruiters and has over 10 years of coaching experience, including stints at UNC and Duke. In her first season at NCCU, Stafford-Odom led the Eagles to a tie for seventh place finish in the MEAC standings after NC Central was picked to finish 13th (last) in the preseason poll. She coached NCCU s first All-MEAC honoree in four years (Rodneysha Martin) and an MEAC All-Rookie honoree (Kieche White). The former Women s National Basketball Association (WNBA) player and collegiate hall of fame inductee returns to The Triangle to continue her head coaching career after last coaching three seasons at Concordia University Irvine from Prior to that, Stafford-Odom was a successful assistant coach for four seasons with both the UNC Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils. She began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant for the UCLA Bruins. Stafford-Odom won the Concordia Eagles first conference championship in 18 years to highlight her time coaching in California. In her second season as head coach, CUI posted a 23-7 record and won the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Championship. She produced two All-Americans and was named the league s coach of the year. As an assistant coach at UNC from , Stafford-Odom was a valuable recruiter for the No. 1 nationally-ranked recruiting class in She aided the development of two WNBA players, two ACC Players of the Year and two ACC Freshmen of the Year while working under the leadership of Naismith Hall of Fame coach Sylvia Hatchell. Stafford-Odom brought her first No. 1 nationally-ranked recruiting class to Durham when she was an assistant at Duke from The Blue Devils won the ACC Championship both seasons as she mentored WNBA draft picks, an ACC Tournament MVP, a two-time ACC Academic All-American and a ACC Defensive Player of the Year. While at UCLA from , Stafford-Odom was the recruiting coordinator for a No. 3 nationally-ranked recruiting class her first season and went on to develop two top-5 WNBA draft picks and the Pac-10 Tournament MVP. Stafford-Odom was enshrined into the Cal Athletic Hall of Fame in She led the Golden Bears to their first two NCAA Tournament appearances. She was a multiple All-Pac-10 honoree as well as a Kodak All-America honorable mention. Stafford-Odom averaged 15.3 points during her four seasons (sixth all-time at Cal) and led the Pac-10 in scoring with over 23 points her senior year. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in mass communications in 1992, Stafford-Odom pursued a professional basketball playing career that included a couple years in the WNBA with Houston (2001) and Miami (2002) as well as time in the ABL, NWBL, NBDL, NBA Entertainment League and European leagues. Stafford-Odom continued her education while coaching at Concordia Irvine and earned a Master of Arts degree in coaching and athletic administration in 2015, and continues to be a student in the assistant coaches program of the NBA. Trisha is married to DeWayne and the couple has two sons, Amari and Trajen.

6 NCCU ASSISTANT COACH TYNESHA LEWIS Tynesha Lewis joined the NCCU women s basketball coaching staff in June of 2017 as an assistant coach. Nothing makes me more comfortable than knowing the very knowledgeable and uber-efficient Tynesha Lewis is ready to be in the trenches with me on the sidelines, said Stafford-Odom. Her accomplishments as a player and her energetic approach to entrepreneurship and personal growth was revealed to me over the course of our long term-friendship. I am grateful Coach Ty was willing to reinsert herself into the women s game. Lewis, who played six seasons in the Women s National Basketball Association (WNBA), returns to The Triangle after playing collegiately at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. She will be working primarily with NCCU s point guards and on shooting the ball. After being drafted as the 21st overall pick in the 2001 WNBA draft, Lewis played six professional seasons split between the Houston Comets, Charlotte Sting and Minnesota Lynx. Since retiring in 2007, she has spent most of her time as an educator, motivational speaker and in sales. Lewis has collegiate coaching experience as an assistant coach with Illinois State University. The Macclesfield, North Carolina, product had an outstanding collegiate career for the Wolfpack. Lewis was a four-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) honoree under coaching legend Kay Yow. She scored 1,621 points for NCSU and finished with career averages of 13.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals. She played on a Final Four team in 1998 and a Sweet 16 squad in NCCU ASSISTANT COACH JASON HARRIS Harris comes to NCCU as a successful high school teacher and coach. He has spent the past four years as the head varsity coach at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Virginia, where he was named coach of the year and set a new program record for most wins for girls basketball in school history. Jason arrives with a wealth of basketball knowledge and structure, said Stafford-Odom. NC Central women s basketball will hugely benefit from his close affiliations with quality players and programs in the northeast and throughout the globe. Jason s choice to bring his passion, experience, and gifted skill development capabilities to us, will immediately elevate our level of play. His training craftiness is a commodity and he has proven to be successful with creating a winning culture. In 17 years at the prep level, Harris gained a lot of experience and connections throughout the east coast having coached in Virginia, Maryland and Florida after attending college in New York City. Harris started his career at Falls Church High School in Virginia from , before moving on to stints at Montrose Christian School in Maryland from , Montverde Academy in Florida from and Westminster School in Virginia from before going to Bishop Ireton in The founder of the Premier Sports Performance Academy has taught as a physical education instructor for 12 years and served as an assistant director of athletics for two years at Montverde. Harris has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Premier Sports Performance Academy since 2006 and served as a coach for its under-16 elite team for over a decade. Lewis graduated from North Carolina State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry in 2001 before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biological science in She continued her education with master s degrees from American InterContinental University (business administration - marketing) and Grand Canyon University (education/curriculum - integration of technology).

7 NCCU ASSISTANT COACH RON WOODARD Woodard is returning to NCCU and is bringing over 30 years of collegiate coaching experience to the program. He previously was with the Eagles in a variety of roles from 1998 to 2001, including part of the NCCU men s basketball coaching staff that won the NCAA Division II ional Championship in Woodard has accumulated over a dozen years worth of head coaching experience since leaving Durham. Woodard posted a winning record in 11 seasons as the men s basketball head coach at Claflin University before moving over to the women s bench as an interim head coach at Elizabeth City State University for one season. In his time at Claflin, Woodard guided the Panthers from the NAIA to NCAA Division II ranks with a cumulative winning record, including an NCAA record of (.565). He won the Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in 2005 before making the transition and winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title in The SIAC Coach of the Year posted the best record for any HBCU program in with a 24-2 mark. Woodard, who last coached at Virginia University of Lynchburg for two seasons and posted a 44-6 record with the Dragons men s basketball program, immediately began his career of mentoring student-athletes at his alma mater once he graduated from fellow Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) member institution Norfolk State University in Woodard was a graduate assistant for the Spartans basketball team while serving as a football staff assistant until Woodard graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education in 1981 and continued his education at NSU until completing a Master of Arts degree in curriculum development and supervision administration in He then spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Kentucky State University before going to NCCU for the first time. NCCU DIRECTOR OF OPS CLARISSA ADAMS Adams will serve as the director of basketball operations at NCCU beginning in after spending the past decade with the women s basketball program at the University of North Carolina. While in Chapel Hill, Adams served as the director of student-athlete development/recruiting assistant under the leadership of Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inducted coaching legend Sylvia Hatchell since Her tenure at UNC included two seasons with Stafford-Odom, who was an assistant coach for the Tar Heels from There was an instantaneous aura of professionalism when I met Clarissa years ago, said Stafford-Odom. Her uncanny ability to promote positive alternatives and to bring resolve to situations that appear unresolvable render her invaluable. Clarrisa will be an essential resource to our student-athletes as they navigate their way through college and prepare for life after athletics. She will bring life to the community and media presence of women s basketball, and she will effectively communicate the daily and long term direction of our program. Adams, who worked with the UNC football and men s basketball teams as an undergraduate, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise and sports science from UNC in She started her career in collegiate athletics by working in both the UNC football operations and recruiting departments before moving over to women s basketball program two years later. Adams is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer. In his first 13 years at NCCU, Woodard started as an assistant coach with the men s basketball team from before being promoted to associate head coach from and eventually assistant athletic director from He also served as an instructor while enjoying success on the court, including five NCAA DII postseason appearances (1989, 1990, 1993, 1996, 1997).
