JETS/STEELERS AT A GLANCE Regular Season Series: Steelers lead, 15-4 Last Meeting: Steelers, 24, Jets, 19, Heinz Field (01/23/11) (AFC Championship) Last Regular Season Meeting: Jets, 22, Steelers, 17, Heinz Field (12/19/10) Notable: New York has won two-of-the-last-three regular season meetings against Pittsburgh. The Jets lone loss came in the clubs' last game, a defeat in the AFC Championship (01/23/11). JETS HEAD COACH: Rex Ryan, Fourth Season with Jets, (including postseason) STEELERS HEAD COACH: Mike Tomlin, Sixth Season with Steelers, (including postseason) COMMUNITY CORNER SchoolFood Website: Beginning in 2004, the New York Jets partnered with the New York City Department of Education s SchoolFood program in an effort to encourage all New York City public school students to eat healthy and take advantage of the nutritious meals that are served. Jets tight end Dustin Keller serves as the spokesperson for the SchoolFood program. The New York Jets specifically support SchoolFood s sweepstakes to encourage parents to submit the school meals application. The application determines if parents qualify for free or reduced-price lunch for their children. Parents are automatically entered in the sweepstakes when they submit the application form. The winning family receives a trip for two sponsored by the Jets to the National Football League Pro Bowl. The SchoolFood program, with support from the sweepstakes, helps to ensure that eligible students receive lunch served in city public schools at a reduced price or for free. The Department of Education serves 860,000 meals each day. The lunch application is essential in determining federal reimbursement for the expenses that the City incurs in providing these meals. The Department also uses the application to help determine Title I funding for schools and student eligibility for supplemental educational services. In 2006, with Sparano as the Dallas Cowboys primary play caller, the team ranked fifth in the NFL in total offense, averaging yards per game. Their 425 points was the fourth-highest total in the NFL.
