10 PRODUCTION MEETS DURABILITY Originally joining the team in 2002 as an undrafted free agent defensive lineman, Brandon Moore was switched to the offensive line by then-head coach Herman Edwards in training camp. Cut following camp that year, Moore did not rejoin the team until the day before Christmas when he was signed to the practice squad. Honing his skills at NFL Europe the following offseason, Moore was again cut after training camp, but this time rejoined the practice squad prior to the first game. He was signed to the active roster before Week Eight and made his NFL debut in Week 15. After missing three games due to injury in the middle of the 2004 season, Moore returned to the starting line-up and has started in 121 consecutive games, the longest streak of any active guard in the league. Moore currently ranks in third among all offensive linemen in consecutive starts behind only DET T Jeff Backus and free agent C Casey Wiegmann. He has not missed a game in the last seven seasons. Productivity has gone hand-in-hand with durability, as Moore, the longest tenured member of the Jets offense, has paved the way for yard rushing performances by seven different running backs, and helped 2012 Hall of Fame inductee Curtis Martin win the rushing title in 2004 with 1,697 yards SEASON HIGHLIGHTS QB Mark Sanchez s 26 TD passes tied for the second most by a Jets passer in a single season with Al Dorrow (1960) and Joe Namath (1967). RB Joe McKnight set a team record with his 107-yard KOR for a score at Baltimore (10/2). His 31.6-yard KOR average is the highest by a Jet, almost a full yard more than the previous record of 30.7 held by Bobby Humphery in McKnight led the NFL in KOR average. TE Dustin Keller s 65 receptions were the third highest total by a tight end in the AFC and the most by a Jets tight end since 1988 when Mickey Shuler caught 70 passes. His 815 yards are the fourth-most by a Jets tight end in a season and the most since 1985 when Shuler set the team record with 879. Additionally, Keller s 12.5 average is the most by a Jets tight end since 1994, when Johnny Mitchell registered a 12.9 average on 58 receptions. WR Jeremy Kerley finished the season with a punt return average of 10.9 yards, good for fourth in the AFC. It is the highest punt return average posted by a Jets rookie since RB Leon Johnson averaged 12.1 yards a return in Only two rookies in team history have ever registered a higher average, Bruce Harper averaged 12.5 in 1977 and Johnson averaged 12.1 in DID YOU KNOW - YEREMIAH BELL Yeremiah Bell worked at a steel mill in Kentucky after graduating high school? He earned $8 an hour bending liner pieces that are put in tunnels. I actually liked it, Bell said. The hardest thing was stacking them. The heaviest pieces were like 75 pounds. After working in the steel mill for two years and saving his money, he walked-on at Eastern Kentucky, where he eventually earned a full scholarship. CORNERING THE MARKET Cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie form arguably the best duo since Both players ranked in the top five in burn percentage among CBs targeted at least 50 times in Since the two teamed together in 2010, Revis and Cromartie rank first and third respectively in burn percentage. SAFETY MEASURES During this offseason the Jets added two safeties that have combined for 139 starts, 956 tackles, 16.5 sacks, 10 interceptions, 83 passes defensed, 15 forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries during their NFL careers. UFA Yeremiah Bell joins the Jets after spending eight season with MIA. Four of his six career interceptions have come in the last three seasons, with two of those picks coming off of AFC East foe Ryan Fitzpatrick. UFA LaRon Landry (WAS) has started every game he has played in (64). A punishing tackler, he has picked off four passes and deflected 40 passes during his five seasons. He has recorded 3.5 of his 5.5 sacks during the last three seasons. The two new safeties will share starting duties with veteran Jet Eric Smith, who has started 34 games for the Jets. A versatile player who is also a key contributer on special teams, Smith has recorded 172 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one interception, eight passes defensed and one fumble recovery in the last two seasons. 10

11 PAYING CUSTOMS ON REVIS ISLAND CB Darrelle Revis capped the 2011 season with his fourth-consecutive Pro Bowl selection. Widely considered the best cornerback in the NFL, Revis numbers the last three seasons have illustrated why opposing quarterbacks rarely pay a visit to Revis Island. In his three seasons under Head Coach Rex Ryan, Revis has posted the lowest burn percentage* of any cornerback in the league and is tied for the highest percentage of passes defended to times targeted as well. Since Rex Ryan took over as head coach of the Jets, quarterbacks have connected on just 52.2% of their passes against New York, the lowest completion percentage during that span. Last season, the Jets passing defense again ranked among the tops in the NFL holding opponents to a 69.6 passer rating (third-best in the NFL) and 15 touchdown passes (second-fewest in NFL). Opponents have completed 275-of-507 passes for a completion percentage of 54.2%, third-best in the NFL. CRO PICKS TO WIN With two interceptions of QB Luke McCown in a victory over JAX (9/18/11), Antonio Cromartie registered the fifth game of his career with multiple interceptions. In the five games Cromartie has picked off two-or-more passes, his teams have never lost. In fact, in the 18 games (including postseason) that he has collected an interception, his teams carry a 14-4 record. Last season he selected local product, DL Muhammad Wilkerson, who prepped at Linden HS, in the first round. Wilkerson started Opening Day at defensive end for the Jets, the first time a rookie has started in New York s base defense in Week One since Dwight Lowery started at cornerback in 2008, and the first rookie to start for a Rex Ryan defense on Opening Day since DT Haloti Ngata and SS Dawan Landry. Both players started under Ryan in Baltimore in 2006, while he served as the defensive coordinator for the Ravens. Wilkerson registered the first sack of his career when he brought down QB Luke McCown vs. JAX (9/18/11) for a safety. He became the first player to record a safety on his first sack in the NFL since LB Jameel McClain accomplished the feat for a then-rex Ryan led Baltimore Ravens defense vs. the Oakland Raiders (10/26/08). KEEPING PACE In the words of Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan, LB Calvin Pace enjoyed his best season since Ryan became the head coach in Pace, a versatile defender, produced statistics as a pass rusher (third on team with 4.5 sacks), a tackler (third on the team with 90), and in pass coverage, recording an INT at BUF (11/6/11). In each of his first three seasons with the Jets, Pace has either led the team in sacks (2009) or ranked second (2008 and 2010). Last season, his 4.5 sacks were third. Since joining the Jets in 2008, Pace has recorded 25 sacks, 11 forced fumbles and two interceptions. For his career, he has 39 sacks, 16 forced fumbles and three interceptions. AARON MAYHEM MAYBIN LB Aaron Maybin, nicknamed Mayhem in college, had played 26 games prior to joining the New York Jets as a free agent (8/7/11). In those 26 games, he recorded 23 tackles, no sacks and no forced fumbles on defense. After spending three preseason games with the Jets, he was waived before the regular season began and later re-signed as the team prepared for their fourth game of the season at BLT (10/2). Maybin went on to play 13 games with the Green & White and lived up to his nickname, leading the team with six sacks and four forced fumbles. Mayhem recorded his first multiple-sack game against his former team, the Buffalo Bills (11/27), when he dropped QB Ryan Fitzpatrick twice. TACKLING MACHINE In four seasons, LB David Harris has led the team in tackles three times and finished second with 87 tackles in 2008 despite missing five games. In 2007, he led the team with 117 tackles despite not taking over starting duties until the eighth game of the season. In 2011, Harris led the team for the season with 117 tackles.
