EDT SUNDAY, AUG. 22, 2015 LUCAS OIL STADIUM COLTS HOST BEARS IN PRESEASON HOME OPENER AT LUCAS OIL STADIUM Colts Running Back Josh Robinson The Indianapolis Colts will host the Chicago Bears in their 2015 preseason home opener. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium. The matchup will mark the 16th all-time meeting between the teams in the preseason, with the Bears holding a overall advantage. It will mark the first time the Bears have traveled to Indianapolis for a preseason game since Last week, the Colts lost to the Philadelphia Eagles by the score of The Colts were first to put points on the board when kicker Adam Vinatieri converted a 32-yard field goal on Indianapolis second possession of the game. First-round draft pick wide receiver Phillip Dorsett led the Colts in receiving with four receptions for 51 yards, while fellow rookie running back Josh Robinson led the team in rushing with 44 yards and one touchdown. Rookie inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera led Indianapolis defense with five tackles and one interception as the Eagles converted only 3- of-14 third down attempts. Prior to this week s game, the Colts will host the Bears at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center. The teams will conduct joint practices on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Thursday, Aug. 20 in advance of the preseason contest on Aug. 22. This marks the fourth time that the Colts have participated in joint practices with another team as they did so with the St. Louis Rams (1997, 99) and Tennessee Titans (2000). It will be the first time that the team has hosted such an arrangement in Indianapolis. COLTS GAMEDAY INFORMATION PRE-GAME FESTIVITIES American Family Insurance Touchdown Town Free and open to the public, American Family Insurance Touchdown Town opens 3 hours prior to kickoff and features $3 drink specials, a giant TV screen, live music, the PLAY 60 Zone for kids and much more. NFL INITIATIVE USA FOOTBALL MONTH The Indianapolis Colts will join the NFL and USA Football in celebrating youth football and promoting the Heads Up Football initiative by incorporating several elements into Saturday s game. Indiana youth football players will assist in holding the American flag during the National Anthem. Tickets to the game have been donated to youth football teams. USA Football field stencils and endzone banners Pre-game Recognition - USA Football and the Indianapolis Colts will recognize 14 Indiana high schools who received USA Football equipment grants this year. GAMEDAY CHARITY COLLECTION Fill the Boot Indianapolis firefighters will be stationed outside the gates from 5:30-7:30 p.m. collecting monetary donations to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. 50/50 RAFFLE During every 2015 home game, the Indianapolis Colts will host a 50/50 Raffle for fans. Tickets will be sold at six kiosks throughout the stadium as well as multiple mobile sellers. Tickets will be sold through the end of the third quarter. During the fourth quarter, the Colts will announce the winning number and amount. Fifty percent of the net proceeds from the day s ticket sales will go to one lucky fan and the remainder will support the work of the Indianapolis Colts Foundation in the community. He is only the second head coach in NFL history to earn 11 wins in each of his first three seasons with a team and the third head coach in Colts history to reach the playoffs in each of his first three years. In 2014, Pagano led the Colts to a perfect 6-0 division record for the second straight year, marking the first time in franchise history they ve accomplished the feat in back-to-back seasons. The Colts claimed their ninth AFC South title since 2002, which is the secondmost division titles of any NFL team during that span. 4 CONNECTIONS INDIANA/ILLINOIS CONNECTIONS A pair of Colts players are natives of Illinois: T-Anthony Castonzo (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) and TE-Coby Fleener (Lemont, Ill.). Bears QB-Jimmy Clausen ( ) played quarterback at Notre Dame for three seasons. Chicago CB-Tracy Porter ( ) played at Indiana University. Bears QB-Jay Cutler is a native of Santa Claus, Ind. and played quarterback and safety for Heritage Hills High School in Lincoln City, Ind. Indianapolis T-Tyler Hoover ( ) and Chicago RB-Jeremy Langford ( ) were teammates at Michigan State for four seasons, including 2013 when they won the Big 10 Conference Championship and defeated Stanford in the Rose Bowl. Colts RB-Vick Ballard ( ) played collegiately at Mississippi State with Bears LB-Pernell McPhee ( ) and LB- Matthew Wells ( ). Colts rookie RB-Josh Robinson ( ) was also teammates with Wells. Indianapolis S-Colt Anderson ( ) and Chicago WR/KR- Marc Mariani ( ) spent four seasons together at the University of Montana. Colts LB-Nate Irving ( ) and LB-Willie Young ( ) were teammates at North Carolina State for four years. Drayton ( ) was the position coach at Ohio State for Indianapolis RB-Daniel Boom Herron ( ) for one season. Drayton also spent time at Ohio State with Colts T/G-Jack Mewhort ( ) for three seasons. Colts LB-Cam Johnson ( ) and Bears Wide Receivers coach Mike Groh ( ) crossed paths in 2008 during Johnson s first season at the University of Virginia and Groh s final season as the Offensive Coordinator of the Cavaliers. Groh left his alma mater to become an Offensive Graduate Assistant (2009) and later Wide Receivers coach/recruiting Coordinator ( ) at Alabama while Colts NT-Josh Chapman ( ) was a member of the Crimson Tide program. During their time together at Alabama they brought home national championships in 2009 and Colts Defensive Line coach Gary Emanuel ( ) and Bears Linebackers coach Glenn Pires ( ) were both on the Dartmouth coaching staff for the 1988 season. 7 COLTS OFFSEASON NOTES ADDITIONS THROUGH FREE AGENCY COLTS OFFSEASON MOVES OLB-TRENT COLE Started 145-of-155 games over the past 10 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles ( ). Cole has recorded double-digit sacks in four seasons and since entering the league in 2005, his 85.5 career sacks rank eighth in the NFL. His career sacks rank second in Eagles history, trailing only Pro Football Hall of Famer Reggie White. Cole registered a career-high 12.5 sacks in 2007 and 2009 and was named to the Pro Bowl after each season. 9 COLTS 2015 NFL DRAFT PICKS MEET THE DRAFT PICKS WIDE RECEIVER PHILLIP DORSETT MIAMI (FL) FIRST ROUND (29TH OVERALL) Dorsett played in 45 games (30 starts) with the Hurricanes and tallied 121 receptions for 2,132 yards (17.6 avg.) and 17 touchdowns. His 23.2 yards per catch average in his final two collegiate seasons was the most in the Football Bowl Subdivision. As a senior in 2014, he started all 13 games at wide receiver and earned Second Team All-ACC honors after posting 36 catches for 871 yards (24.2 avg.) and 10 touchdowns.
