It is the responsibility of the coach or designated person of the team entering the National Championship to submit all the necessary monies and completed forms BEFORE June 8, It is not the responsibility of the Local Tournament Director or the AAU to make sure all are completed, ONLY TO ACCEPT OR REJECT A TEAM OR PLAYER BASED ON DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED. Class of 2007 seniors may not participate. ENTRY FEE: Entry fees for West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games shall be a total of $ (includes spectator admission). NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. MAKE CASHIER'S CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS ONLY PAYABLE TO: University of California Regents - WCAAUJOG $ SPECTATOR Spectator admission will not be charged for the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games. ADMISSION: Entry fees have been set to include the spectator admission fee, which normally would be $10.00 per day. Bring the whole family. No Admissions - a great family event for all! ENTRY DEADLINE: All entries MUST BE RECEIVED BY Friday, June 8, Entry fees will not be refunded. RULES OF PLAY: PLAYER ROSTER: TOURNAMENT PLAY: ELIGIBLE TEAMS: AAU MEMBERSHIP: CONDUCT OF PLAYERS/ COACHES/SPECTATORS: COACH/PLAYER SUSPENSION: BENCH RULES: All games will follow played under High School Federation Rules. Special Rules will be provided contacts with schedule. ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A CURRENT AAU MEMBERSHIP IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE. A POOL PLAY SYSTEM WILL BE USED: Even number of teams (if possible) in each pool. All teams from each pool will advance to a single/consolation championship brackets. In the pool play system, a cap of 15 points for tie breaker will be used if needed to break ties. Open to any AAU Team in the United States. In addition to all players being registered with the AAU, all three (3) non-players allowed on the bench must hold a current non-athlete AAU membership. Membership shall be purchased prior to tournament. No non-athlete shall be allowed on a team bench without an AAU membership card. Each team will receive a maximum of three (3) bench personnel credentials and a maximum of twelve (12) player credentials. A team manager/chaperone is to be listed on the entry form and this person will be held responsible for the team's actions. Any person or team whose behavior has affected the conduct of the tournament and/or the respectability of the AAU Junior Olympic Games program will be brought before the tournament disciplinary committee. If a coach or a player is suspended during a game, the suspension does NOT include forfeited games. The suspension will be for the next game played. The home team will sit on the left side of the official scorekeeper. A team may have on its bench only eligible players in uniform and four non-players. Violation of this rule shall result in one warning. The team then has one minute to clear the bench of anyone not listed on the official roster. If a team fails to 2

4 comply, the violator will be ejected. At least one person age 18 or older must be on the bench at all times. COACHES' ATTIRE: UNIFORMS: AWARDS: CHECK-IN: DIRECTIONS TO CHECK-IN: All non-uniformed persons on bench shall wear long pants (no jeans, sweat pants, warm-ups, athletic pants), shirts with collars and sleeves and dress shoes or tennis shoes during play at the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games. Jeans, shorts, sweat pants, tee shirts, hats and opentoed shoes are not permitted. The top team in the game brackets, or first team listed in pool pairings, will be the HOME team and shall wear white. The bottom team, or second team listed in pool pairings, will be the VISITING team and shall wear dark uniforms. Please bring both uniforms in case of any problems. The Home team shall sit to the official scorer's left and take the opposite basket for pre-game, warm-up, and first-half play. AAU Junior Olympic Games medals and plaques will be presented to the top four (4) teams. Pre-Registration: It is extremely important that all entries be received no later than the abovementioned deadline date. ENTRY FORM (S) RECEIVED BEYOND THAT DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! Of course, we want as many athletes as possible to participate, so please get all entry forms in on time. Again, guaranteed overnight delivery will become mandatory if it is the only way to ensure compliance with the deadline date. On-Site Check-In: Check-In for athletes, coaches, clubs and teams participating in the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games will be held in the Pavilion located at the corner of La Rue Road and Orchard Park Drive at the University of California, Davis. Please follow posted signs to the Check- In Area. On-site parking is $7.00/vehicle/day. PLAY STARTS: Thursday, June 28, 2007 TRANSPORTATION: BIRTH RECORDS: ELIGIBILITY: PROTESTS: ATHLETE VILLAGE: You will be responsible for your own transportation to and around Davis. All teams should arrive no later than Wednesday, June 27, Each competitor must send proof of his age in one of the following acceptable manners: HOSPITAL RECORDS ARE UNACCEPTABLE! a) A COPY of his birth record from the STATE, COUNTY, OR MUNICIPAL BUREAU OF VITAL STATISTICS from the place of birth. (the AAU is not responsible for returning original birth records). b) A copy of the delayed registration of birth if the athlete's birth was not recorded on his day of birth, issued by the same governing bodies. c) An un-expired Passport Any questions pertaining to the eligibility of a player or team shall be directed to the AAU Junior Olympic Games Chairman or his designee in attendance. High School Federation Rules DO NOT recognize or allow protests. (The same policy applies to the AAU Girls Basketball program.) Sunday June 24, 2007 at the Rec Pool on campus (just west of Pavilion and ARC) from 5-9pm. All athletes and families are invited to spend time at the Athlete Village. This unique gathering spot will include swimming, activities, free food*, games, volleyball, music, and more. This location is your admission-free hot spot for hanging out and having fun! Athletes can meet their coaches, teammates and family here to re-connect and relax. Check the website at wcaaujrogames.org for updates as the dates get closer! *Free food from Panda Express for first 300 people (athletes, family members, coaches). 5 PARKING: The majority of venues for the 2007 West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games will offer complimentary parking. However, some locations may have parking fees. Daily fees in the amount of $7.00/vehicle/day will apply at all venues on the University of California, Davis campus. Also, please note that some hotels will charge for parking at their location. These prices vary. Please contact your hotel directly for more information on parking fees. HOUSING: For a complete listing of accommodation options and rates (including Hotels and Residence Hall Housing), please visit the web site Special rates have been negotiated for the event. To receive the special rates, please make sure that you provide the reservation staff with the reservation code (Your Code: AAUJOG). SECURITY: MEDICAL PERSONNEL: FOOD: NO GUARANTEE: All 2007 AAU Junior Olympic Games facilities maintain the right to search any bags, backpacks, purses, jackets, etc. throughout the duration of the 2007 AAU Junior Olympic Games. Medical Personnel are part of the event staff and will be on hand to deal with any medical situations that may arise; they are not present for any team training duties (i.e., preventative taping and stretching). No outside food or drink may be brought into the facilities on the University of California, Davis campus. The AAU can not and does not guarantee the appearance and/or participation of specific participant(s) and/or teams (as applicable) in this event. The AAU has sanctioned (approved) this Event as an official AAU Event (competition), but the AAU is not and shall not be responsible for any participant's or spectator's expenses related to this Event (nor reimbursements for same) in case of dissatisfaction of any participant, friend, family, or spectator, this includes, but is not limited to all travel, hotel (lodging), food, entry fees and/or any other expenses related to the event. 11 Participant's name: Please Print UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement Waiver: In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in hereinafter called "The Activity", I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives or assigns, do hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue The Regents of the University of California, its officers, employees, and agents from liability from any and all claims including the negligence of The Regents of the University of California, its officers, employees and agents, resulting in personal injury, accidents or illnesses (including death), and property loss arising from, but not limited to, participation in The Activity. I have read the previous paragraphs and I know, understand, and appreciate these and other risks that are inherent in The Activity. Indemnification and Hold Harmless: I also agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD The Regents of the University of California HARMLESS from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney s fees brought as a result of my involvement in The Activity and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred. Severability: The undersigned further expressly agrees that the foregoing waiver and assumption of risks agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of California and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect. Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. 12 MARCH OF ATHLETES DURING OUR PICNIC IN THE PARK WHEN: Wednesday June 27, 2007 WHERE: Central Park, Davis, CA (4 th and C Street) DETAILS: 6:00pm staging under grove of trees at north end 6:30pm march and welcome from city officials (short walk through Park to stage area) FREE T-SHIRTS FOR PARTICIPATING ATHLETES Join the March of Athletes to highlight your team, recognize the state and city you traveled from, and show the Davis community your team spirit! Come early and stay late for the weekly Picnic In The Park held the same date and time as March of Athletes. Choose a dinner from a variety of local restaurants, and relax on the lawn to listen to free, live music. After dinner, shop in our wonderful Farmers Market and let the kids enjoy a host of activities, including magicians and jugglers, our pedal-powered carousel, pony rides, bounce houses, face painting and a portable climbing wall. The community is happy you are here! Come to the park and let them see the faces of the AAU athletes! Wear team colors, uniform, and medals. Bring a team banner or flag, or make your own banner there! (Paper and markers provided). Chant your team cheer or bring noisemakers to announce your presence! WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
