Name Unit Day(s)/Time(s) Available Area of Interest Cell # Backcountry Horsemen of California and the City Of Norco Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement Waiver: In consideration of being permitted to visit or participate in any way in any activity, including transportation, at George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center, I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives or assigns, do hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Backcountry Horsemen of California (BCHC) or the City of Norco, its officers, employees, and agents from liability from any and all claims including the negligence of BCHC or the City of Norco, its officers, employees, and agents, resulting in personal injury, accidents or illnesses (including death), and property loss arising from, but not limited to, visitation or participation in any way in any activity, including transportation, at George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center. Assumption of Risks: Visitation or participation carries with it certain inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. The specific risks vary from one activity to another, but the risks range from 1) minor injuries such as scratches, bruises, and sprains to 2) major injuries such as eye injury or loss of sight, joint or back injuries, heart attacks, and concussions to 3) catastrophic injuries including paralysis and death. I have read the previous paragraphs and I know, understand, and appreciate these and other risks that are inherent in visitation or participation. I hereby assert that my visitation or participation is voluntary and that I knowingly assume all such risks. Indemnification and Hold Harmless: I also agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD BCHC and the City of Norco HARMLESS from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney s fees brought as a result of my involvement in visitation or participation and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred. Severability: The undersigned further expressly agrees that the foregoing waiver and assumption of risks agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of California and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect. Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing the agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend by my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law. 5 WESTERN ART SHOW CONTEST RULES 1) Item (e.g. painting, photo, etc.) must be created by you and your name must be on the entry form. One entry form per item. Entry number will be assigned at time of submission. 2) Paintings, photos and drawings must be framed (including wire for hanging) for their protection and display. 3) All entry forms must have contestant s name, address and phone number. It is a good idea to put this on your item also, if possible. 4) $5.00 Entry fee for each item 5) Entries are due at the Rendezvous Art Show Booth no later than 10:00 am on Saturday. Items must be picked up no later than 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. 6) Prizes will be awarded for each category at the discretion of the Western Art Show judge. 7) Western Art Show judges are not responsible for the sale of items. Interested buyers will need to look up the information on the item tag and speak directly with the artist. Artwork can be donated to BCHC and Auctioned off on Saturday night. RENDEZVOUS DUTCH OVEN COMPETITION FRIDAY & SATURDAY Rules for the Competition 1) Contestants will provide their own ingredients to prepare their recipe.

6 RENDEZVOUS DUTCH OVEN COMPETITION FRIDAY & SATURDAY Rules for the Competition 1) Contestants will provide their own ingredients to prepare their recipe. 2) Contestants will provide their own cooking gear: Dutch oven, briquettes, cans for briquettes, fire starters, utensils, prep table, and cooking tables or equivalent set-up, as there will be no cooking on the ground. 3) If you need it, you bring it. 4) Contestants will have their choice to cook a breakfast, dinner, or dessert. 5) All cooking will be done on site starting at 1pm. 6) Judging starts at 4pm, with samples of your cooking given to spectators. 7) Spectators will vote (using tickets) for their favorite breakfast, dinner and dessert. 8) Entry fee $20 each day Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 Any questions, please call Kaye at This is a fun competition with prizes and certificates issued to the winners! 7 PACKING 101: This is a hands-on, basic packing class with live mules that will involve packsaddle fit, use of panniers, load balancing, mantees, and different hitches to secure loads. Classes are free but size is limited. Check schedule at Rendezvous for class times and location. There will also be iron mules set up with experienced packers to help you perfect your hitches from Friday to Sunday. PACKING COMPETITIONS BOX HITCH SPEED COMPETITION: ANIMALS, PACK SADDLES, PACK BOXES, LASH ROPES, MANTEES and LOADS WILL BE PROVIDED. One packer will load and balance boxes with load provided. He/She will put boxes on mule from each side, no throwing box over the animal. He/She will then put mantee on the mule properly, tucking all corners and top, then tie box hitch. Speed and correctness of procedures will be split 50%-50 %. Faults will incur a time penalty. DIAMOND HITCH SPEED COMPETITION: ANIMALS, PACK SADDLES, PACK BOXES, LASH ROPES, MANTEES and LOADS WILL BE PROVIDED. One packer will load and balance boxes with load provided. He/She will put boxes on mule from each side, no throwing box over the animal. He/She will then put mantee on the mule properly, tucking all corners and top, then tie single diamond hitch of your choice, must throw the tail of the rope. Speed and correctness of procedures will be split 50%-50 %. Faults will incur time penalty. PACKING CONTEST (ODD LOAD): ANIMALS, PACK SADDLES, PACK BOXES, LASH ROPES, MANTIES and LOADS WILL BE PROVIDED. A two packer team will use live mules. The team will load the items provided, tie on securely with a box or diamond hitch. The pack animal will then be lead from the ground around a cone to establish stability. Judging will be based on combination of time 30%, stability 30%, evenness of load 20%, working safely around the animals 10% and teamwork 10%. PLEASE INCLUDE THE ENTRY FORM IN YOUR REGISTRATION PACKET. PLACE THE TOTAL FEES DUE ON PAGE 9 OF THE REGISTRATION FORM. RETAIN THE RULES FOR YOUR INFORMATION. 7

10 Table Decorations Contest Tables will be assigned by the Table Decorations Committee by 10 am on Friday. Units may begin 10 am until Friday at 5pm. The judging will take place after 5 pm and awards presented at Friday evening's award presentation. All units that decorate a table will automatically be entered. The BCHC unit name must be clearly visible. Entries over 3' tall will be disqualified. Winner of the Best Overall category is responsible for coordinating and judging next year's table decoration contest. Judge's decisions are final. We would like to sell these at the dinner if you do not want your decoration sold please remove after Judging or put a sign Do Not Sell. At our dinners we will have the public attending. As BCHC members, we are the hosts and should extend a warm welcome to other members as well as the public to join us at our tables.
