IU won back-to-back Big Ten games for the first time since Indiana boasted nine All-Big Ten honorees, the most for the program since The Hoosiers six honorees on offense and three honorees along the offensive line were the program s most since Offensive linemen Jason Spriggs and Dan Feeney earned freshman All-America honors. Running back Tevin Coleman, defensive end Zack Shaw and quarterback Nate Sudfeld joined the duo as All-Big Ten freshman selections, pushing Indiana s two-year total to eight. Defensive tackle Adam Replogle became the eighth Hoosier to collect Academic All-America honors and the first since Twenty-two Hoosiers received Academic All-Big Ten accolades. Coupled with 2011 s school-record 24 honorees, the program set a two-year mark with 46 award winners under Wilson. Indiana played 32 freshmen in 2011, the highest total in the country, and played 16 more in Twenty-seven of the 48 were true freshmen in the two years. The Hoosiers only suited up eight seniors in 2012, tied for the fewest in the country, and twenty-four of the 35 starters were underclassmen. In 2011, linebacker Chase Hoobler, safety Mark Murphy and offensive lineman Bernard Taylor each collected freshman postseason honors. Spent the seasons at the University of Oklahoma. He served as co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach from and as offensive coordinator and tight ends and fullbacks coach from Led some of the most productive offenses in the history of college football, coached in 10 consecutive bowl games and made seven BCS bowl appearances, including three national championship games (2003, 04, 08). OU played in seven Big 12 Title games in Wilson s nine years, going 6-1 in those appearances. His offenses were vital to accumulating an overall record of (.805) during his time in Norman, including seven 10-win seasons. Over Wilson s time at Oklahoma, 26 offensive players were drafted into the NFL, including seven firstround selections, with three going among the first 10 picks and two in the top five. Served as position coach for three All-Americans, an Outland Trophy winner (Jammal Brown), a Mackey Award finalist (Jermaine Gresham) and a two-time Rimington Trophy finalist (Vince Carter). 29

2 As position coach, Wilson tutored three first-round draft picks (Jermaine Gresham, TE , Davin Joseph, OL and Jammal Brown, OL ), a second-round pick (Chris Chester, OL ), a fifth-round pick (Brody Eldridge, TE ), two sixth-round pick (James Hanna, TE ; Wes Sims, OL ) and six free agents at Oklahoma. Twice a finalist for the Frank Broyles Award - awarded to the nation s top assistant coach, Wilson won the award in In 2010, the Sooners earned a victory over Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl and also claimed the seventh Big 12 championship in school history. During the 2010 campaign, running back DeMarco Murray set the school record for career touchdowns and also broke the OU mark for career all-purpose yards. Guided wide receiver Ryan Broyles to eight Sooner receiving records, including career marks for receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Broyles led the nation with 131 receptions in His 2008 offense shattered NCAA records by scoring 60-or-more points in five straight games and 716 total points for the entire season to average more than 51 points per contest. The 2008 team played in the BCS National Championship Game behind Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Sam Bradford. In 2008, Bradford passed for 4,720 yards and 50 touchdowns, Chris Brown and DeMarco Murray both rushed for over 1,000 yards, Juaquin Iglesias caught 74 balls for 1,150 yards and Jermaine Gresham added 66 catches for 950 yards. Bradford ranked No. 1 nationally in passing efficiency as a freshman in 2007 and again in 2008, as he threw for more touchdowns (86) in two seasons than anyone in NCAA history. In the 2010 NFL Draft, Bradford was selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the St. Louis Rams. He captured the 2010 Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honor. Three of Wilson s tight ends, Jermaine Gresham, Brody Eldridge and Joe Jon Finley, earned All-Big 12 honors in Wilson was also instrumental in the development of Adrian Peterson. Peterson rushed for 1,925 yards in his freshman campaign (2004), which set an OU single-season record and marked the highest total for a freshman in NCAA history. Peterson went on to place second in the Heisman voting, which at the time was the highest finish ever by a freshman. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings as the seventh pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, where he was named the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. Helped NU to the 2000 Alamo Bowl and quarterback Zac Kustok, a Unitas Award finalist, led the Big Ten in total offense. Running back Damian Anderson earned All-America honors and became the sixth-best rusher in Big Ten history. Followed Randy Walker to Northwestern from Miami University after spending nine years in Oxford, coaching alongside former Indiana head coach Terry Hoeppner. Served as offensive line coach for his first two years at Miami and was promoted to offensive coordinator for the next seven, spending in charge of the offensive line and the 1998 season with the quarterbacks. His offenses produced outstanding running backs, including Travis Prentice and Indiana running backs coach Deland McCullough. Wilson also coached all-conference tight end and IU assistant James Patton. Prentice became the NCAA s all-time leading scorer and the fifth-most prolific rusher in NCAA history, breaking McCullough s school records in the process. Wilson was the head coach and athletic director at Foard High School in North Carolina during the 1989 campaign and the offensive coordinator at North Carolina A&T in Spent a year as the offensive line coach at Winston Salem State in Wilson began his career in coaching as a student and graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina. 4 What PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT Kevin Wilson We want to thank Kevin for his role in helping our program win six Big 12 Championships over the last nine seasons. His attention to detail, innovation and ability to develop players to their fullest ability have helped us remain a strong program. Our offenses have been effective because they re multiple and dynamic, and yet loyal to the basic football principles of being physical and fundamentally sound. By going to Indiana, Kevin returns to a region of the country and a conference that he knows very well. He ll have a solid plan for the football program there and the dedication required to carry it out. Kevin, Angie and the entire Wilson family leave with our gratitude for a job well done with the Sooners, and our best wishes for continued success with the Hoosiers. -BOB STOOPS- Oklahoma Head Football Coach Coach Wilson is a great coach. Playing in his system definitely prepared me for the NFL and what I am doing right now. If you look at what he did with our offense at Oklahoma, it speaks volumes about the coach he is. He has a great feel for offense, is a people person and has a great personality. He will have a lot of success at Indiana and is a great hire. -SAM BRADFORD- St. Louis Rams Quarterback, 2010 No. 1 Overall Pick I know about Kevin through his relationship with Randy Walker, who was like a son to me. Randy had the greatest respect for Kevin and he really thought he was an excellent coach. Kevin has a tremendous coaching background and is a good, quality coach and person. -BILL MALLORY- Former IU Head Football Coach ( ) IU Fans should get excited because a great coach is coming to town and he is going to do great things there. Coach Wilson deserves a lot of the credit for where I am now. -BRODY ELDRIDGE- St. Louis Rams Tight End I ve been following Kevin in his career for a long time. The interesting thing about this marriage between Kevin and Indiana is his background with Randy Walker at Miami (Ohio) and Northwestern. Kevin is very familiar with the Big Ten and the Midwest, spending time there before moving on to a dominant program like Oklahoma. He s grown so much at Oklahoma, too. When you combine his knowledge, his background and his ability to recruit; I think it s a perfect fit for what IU is looking for. -KIRK HERBSTREIT- ESPN College Football Analyst Over the years we at the Colts have developed the highest regard for Coach Stoops and the Oklahoma program. We know that Coach Wilson brings the most solid of values and implementation with him from OU. In addition, we had the pleasure of drafting Brody Eldridge and saw first hand how fundamentally sound and well prepared he was. I am certain that is a direct reflection of what Coach Wilson did with the OU offense. I think Hoosier fans will be excited about the total program and offensive approach that Coach Wilson will bring to Bloomington. We wish him the best in his new position. -BILL POLIAN- NFL Executive Having worked with Kevin at Miami (Ohio) for two years ( ) while he was offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, I know that he takes the job as head coach at Indiana University prepared with tremendous experience, and an understanding of what is required to be successful. -SEAN PAYTON- New Orleans Saints Head Coach With being at Oklahoma for the last nine years, he knows exactly what it takes to win. Add in his previous experience coaching and playing in the Midwest, and I think he has the right combination to make a nice fit for Indiana. He has some A-pluses in many of the categories that administrators and IU fans would like to see. -ANTWAAN RANDLE EL- Former NFL Wide Receiver & Hoosier Great I m excited for the future of Indiana Football and what Kevin Wilson brings to the university. His background as a coach, his ability to develop student-athletes and his strong family values make him an excellent candidate to lead the Hoosiers. -TRENT GREEN- Former NFL & IU Quarterback When you play for Coach Wilson, your best is expected at all times. Excuses are few and far between. I ve played for some great offensive line coaches, but he is the best I ve played for as a complete person. Not only is he a great coach, but a great father, a great friend and a great person. He really pushed me. Challenged me as a player, challenged me as a student; all to make me a complete person. Since then he s always had a special place in my heart. -DAVIN JOSEPH- Tampa Bay Buccaneers Guard Bob Stoops Bill Mallory Kirk Herbstreit Sean Payton Trent Green Sam Bradford Brody Eldridge Bill Polian Antwaan Randle El Davin Joseph 32
