3 Lindsey Baxter Lindy participated in volleyball and basketball as well as softball while attending River Ridge, earning 8 varsity letters. Lindy was able to accomplish all of this while maintaining a 3.86 GPA, being named All EVCO Academic Team all four years. Lindy led River Ridge to its only State Tournament Appearances in school history. Pitching for the Hawks Lindy was a strikeout machine, recording 12 or more strikeouts 27 times. In her Career. She set school records for career strikeouts 536, strikeouts in a season 280, and strikeouts in a game with 20. She notched three no-hitters in her career, and led the Hawks to the State tournament in 2007 and Lindy was voted The Evergreen Conference MVP in both seasons, and named All State. Central Washington University After graduation Lindy attended Central Washington University, where she again led her team to the post season for the first time, taking the Wildcats to back to back West Coast Division II Regional Tournaments. She recorded 12 wins and 162 strikeouts in her career. Her academics continued as she was named to the All GNAC Academic Team twice.
4 Aaron Biggs Aaron was an 11 time varsity letter winner at River Ridge. Lettering three times in football, and four times in wrestling and track. Aaron was selected the RRHS Male Athlete for Aaron was voted 1st Team All EVCO as a defensive back his junior and senior seasons. He was named The Olympian All Area Defensive Back as a senior. He led the Hawks in tackles as a senior and was named Team Captain. Aaron was named Team Captain as a junior and senior for the track team, where he went to State in the 4 x 100 m Relay and the Pole Vault. His mark of 13 9 in the Pole Vault is still a River Ridge school record. Aaron placed at state three times as a wrestler, where he finished 2nd as a senior. Aaron was named to the All EVCO and All Area teams in each of his final three seasons. Aaron was named Team Captain his senior year. Central Washington University Aaron went on to graduate from Central with a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Technology and Personal Computer Applications.
5 Miles Coats Miles participated in three sports while at River Ridge, earning varsity letters in football, and golf, as well as being a four time letter winner in track and field. Miles earned All EVCO Academic Honors all four years at River Ridge. Miles was recognized as the Bonnie Evans Award Winner for making a difference in his community as a senior. As a sophomore, Miles won the EVCO Triple Jump Championship. He went on to place 4th in the High Jump at state that year. As a junior Miles was the EVCO Champion in the High Jump and went on to win the Triple Jump State Championships, but he saved his best for his senior season. Miles went undefeated in the Triple Jump. He won every meet he performed at including the District IV Championships, and was the WIAA State Champion. He also won the WIAA State Championships in the High Jump that year, and led the Hawks Men s Team to the District IV Title. That year Miles set a record with a triple jump mark of /2. East Carolina University / University Akron Miles competed at ECU for three years, before transferring to Akron in his final season.. Miles posted three NCAA Triple Jump titles, including winning the All Ohio Championships, setting the 4th best mark in school history. Miles was a part of the MAC Men s Championship Team at Akron.
6 Anthony Dalton Anthony earned 7 varsity letters while at River Ridge. Anthony participated in basketball, track and football. He was a standout in all three sports, voted 1st Team All Narrows defensive back in both his junior and senior year. Anthony also caught 62 passes for 1,012 yards as a junior, and was a weapon as a kick returner. Anthony still holds the school record for the long jump at /4. He finished 2nd in State in both his junior and senior year in the long jump. Anthony was also a two year starter on the basketball team, as a tenacious defender and rebounder. Western Washington University After playing at Yuba College, Anthony starred for WWU. He was the GNAC Newcomer of the Year in He notched 37 tackles, 11 pass defenses, three forced fumbles, a blocked kick and four interceptions. He also recorded a TD when he returned a fumble 40 yards versus Western Oregon.. Anthony was voted Team Captain in 2001, where he earned 2nd Team All American honors and participated in the Cactus Bowl as a senior. NFL-Europe From Anthony played in the NFL Europe league, returning kicks and again earning 1st Team All League Defensive Back honors.
7 Marques Ford While attending River Ridge, Marques was a three sport standout, earning nine varsity letters in Football, Baseball and Wrestling. Marques earned 1st Team All EVCO honors, and was RRHS Offensive MVP as a running back as a senior. He was also a 2nd Team All EVCO centerfielder for the Hawks baseball team that won three straight District IV Championships. Marques is the only River Ridge Wrestler to place at State all four years. He is also the only River Ridge Wrestler to be four time District Champion, four time Regional Champion, and named League MVP all four years. Marques is also the only River Ridge Wrestler to be a two time State Champion, winning his second title as a senior going undefeated. Marques ended his RRHS career record with101 wins to only seven losses. Sierra College Marques went on to wrestle at Sierra College in Rocklin, CA. Marques had an outstanding freshmen year, where he qualified for the regional tournament and was named to the All Star Team.
8 Seth Harvey Seth participated in basketball and golf, as well as baseball while at River Ridge, where he earned five varsity letters. Seth may be the best baseball player to attend. He set 10 school records while he was here. Not surprising the hard throwing right hander holds the record for most strikeouts in a game with 13. However he also holds a record of most Home Run s in a season with nine. He was a three time All Pac 9 first basemen, and Pac 9 MVP as a senior. He was also named to the Pac 9 All Academic Team three times. Washington State University Seth went on to be a big part of the most successful teams at WSU, earning four varsity letters as a key member of the Cougar Bullpen, that went to back to back NCAA Super Regionals. Seth made 78 appearances striking out 81 hitters. Seth struck out four Oklahoma hitters and did not allow a hit in his appearance in the super regionals. Milwaukee Brewers Seth was drafted in the 16th round by the Brewers, where he continues to improve in their organization. Seth was named to the Midwest Minor League All Star game in 2014.
9 David Holman David earned 11 varsity letters at River Ridge, in Football, Basketball and Track. David earned All Pac 9 Honorable Mention Honors as a junior and was First Team All Pac 9 Linebacker as a senior. He was also named Team captain of both the football and track teams. David led the Hawks with six interceptions and 91 tackles on their way to the 2005 playoffs. He also made Pac 9 Honorable mention in basketball his senior season. David placed six times in track and placed at state three years in a row in both the triple jump and high jump. He was the A High Jump State Champion setting a RRHS School Record at 6 7. University of Idaho After graduation, David accepted a Track and Field scholarship to the University of Idaho. He lettered three years at Idaho, and was named to the All Western Athletic Conference Track Team three times. David qualified for the NCAA regionals in 2007 and 2008, being ranked as high as 13th in the country.
10 Connor Lambert Connor participated in basketball, and earned a varsity letter in golf along with his four letters in baseball. Connor is the first pitcher to record a win at the State Tournament for River Ridge. He is a two time All Pac 9 player, including Pac 9 MVP in 2006, and named 1st Team All State. Connor holds four School Records, including 19 straight scoreless innings on the mound, and most career Grand Slam Home Runs. Washington State University Connor lettered all four years at Washington State, where he made 60 appearances on the mound for the Cougars, with a career 11-3 record. Connor earned Pac 10 player of the week honors in 2007 for his 10 strikeout win over Air Force. Connor was nominated Team Captain, where he helped lead the Cougs to their first back to back NCAA Regional Appearances. As a junior Connor made an appearance in all six NCAA regional games. Utah After pitching coaching duties at WSU, Tacoma CC, Corvallis Knights and with Major League Baseball in Australia, Connor has accepted the position of Director of Operations at the University of Utah Baseball.
11 Lee Ring Lee earned a varsity letter all four years in baseball at River Ridge. He was a two time All Narrows League player, and set a school record recording 19 wins on the mound. Lee is the most versatile player in school history, not only was he a dominant pitcher, he could catch, play all four infield spots and was a good outfielder. He was Mr. Utility. Lee was a four time All Narrows Academic Award winner. YVCC / Missouri Western After high school, Lee attended Yakima Valley CC were he was named Team Captain, and was named 1st Team All NWAACC as a utility player. He went on to play at Missouri Western, where again he was named Team Captain in He was All MIAA both years, including 1st Team as a pitcher his senior season. He was also named Missouri Western Athlete of the Year in 2004.
12 Justin Robbins Justin transferred to River Ridge as a Junior and made an immediate impact. Despite a shoulder injury that limited his participation, Justin lettered both years in football and track. His junior season he helped lead the Hawks to their only State Quarter Final appearance. Justin is lethal weapon as a kick returner and wide out. His 90 yard kickoff return for a TD against South Kitsap late in the year, secured the Hawks the only Bridge Division Title. Justin recorded 40 catches for 900 yards and 9 TD s as a junior. He earned 1st Team All Narrows League honors as a receiver his senior year, and was selected by the Tacoma News Tribune All Area Team and nominated to the All State Game. Justin also was a standout on the track team. He placed 2nd at State in Long Jump and as part of the 4 x 100 m Relay. The Relay team held the RRHS School Record for over 10 years. University of Washington After graduation, Justin accepted a football scholarship to attend the University of Washington. Justin became the only freshmen to start for the Huskies in the Rose Bowl, and led them in TD receptions. He was a four time offensive player of the game and Travis Spring Award Winner.
13 Jacob Tarvin Jacob lettered 10 times while attending RRHS. He was a three time letter winner in football and track, and lettered all four years in wrestling. Jacob pole vaulted for the Hawk track team, placing 8th at State. Jacob was also a standout defensive back on the football team. He earned All Pac 9 honors in both his Junior and Senior year. Jacob was also named to The Olympian All Area Team as a defensive back as a senior. In his four years at RRHS Jacob compiled a 104 wins in wrestling. He placed at district and regionals each year. Jacob is on of only four Hawks to be a State Champion. Jacob completed a sweep in 2005 as District IV, Regional, and State Champion. In 2006, Jacob was named Pac 9 Wrestler of the year, and was named to the All Washington Wrestling Team. Delaware State University Jacob went on to wrestle at Delaware State University, where he lettered as freshmen, before injuries ended his wrestling career.
14 Gabby Wade Gabby was a 10 time varsity letter winner at River Ridge. She earned three varsity letters in volleyball, and track and lettered in basketball all four years. During her basketball career, Gabby was a part of the program that turned things around for the Hawks. She was a starter on teams that won three consecutive Pac 9 titles, three consecutive District IV titles, and made three consecutive state tournament appearances. Gabby helped the Hawks place 2nd in state in 2005 and 5th in Gabby was named to the All State Team in both her Junior and Senior seasons. She was twice awarded The Olympian s Player of the Year, and voted Pac 9 MVP in her senior season. Gabby was named The Tacoma News Tribune All Area 2nd team as a junior and 1st team as a senior. She was selected by coaches to play in the Washington-Oregon All Star Game after her senior year. Gabby is the River Ridge Career Rebound record holder with 778 career rebounds. Western Washington University Gabby went on to play at Western Washington University where she was a integral part of the nationally ranked WWU team. Gabby was named to the GNAC All Tournament Team her senior year for the 24-2 Vikings.
15 Janae Young Janae was a late transfer to River Ridge, attending her senior season, but her impact was immediate. Janae became only the second athlete in State History to win four individual State Championships at a single meet. Janae pulled this off at the A State Championships, she is also the last. No other athlete has been able to duplicate a four time individual champion performance since. In her senior year, Janae won the 100 m, 200 m, Long Jump and Triple Jump at both the District IV Championships and the WIAA State Championships. She still holds 2 River Ridge school records in the 100 meters at 11.5 seconds, and the 200 meters at 24.2 seconds.
