PLAYER INTERVIEWS Media wanting to conduct interviews with any member of the Ohio State field hockey team should contact Mike Basford to arrange the appointment. Please call at least one day in advance to allow setup time. ROAD REQUESTS Please direct all credential requests for Ohio State s road games to the host school s sports information director PRACTICE The Buckeyes practice schedule varies based on the amount of games and travel schedule for the week. They practice on their home field, Buckeye Varsity Field, next to the Outdoor Varsity Tennis Complex. WEEKLY RELEASE The weekly release, which includes notes and statistics, is available on the official Ohio State Athletics Department web site at OhioStateBuckeyes.com. Releases are not mailed. GAME DAY MEDIA SERVICES Game notes and starting lineups will be made available to the media prior to each game. Scoring summaries will be distributed to the media following the game. Additional requests should be directed to Mike Basford. RADIO/TELEVISION BROADCASTS Any member of the media wishing to broadcast games should contact Mike Basford in the Athletics Communications office at least 48 hours prior to the game. PHOTO REQUESTS All still photography requests of Ohio State studentathletes and coaches must be faxed or ed to Andy Devito. He can be reached by at devito.7@osu.edu. POSTGAME PROCEDURES Postgame interviews will begin 0 minutes after the game ends. Players and coaches will be available on the field in front of the Ohio State bench. A member of the Athletics Communications office will escort the media to the field. 14 205 OHIO STATE FIELD HOCKEY MEDIA INFORMATION ANNE WILKINSON Head Coach 20th season Delaware, record at Ohio State Head coach Anne Wilkinson enters her 20th season at the helm of the Ohio State fi eld hockey program in 205 and is in her 28th season overall as a head coach. She brings an abundance of experience to the fi eld, having coached over 400 career games and earning the 2006 Big Ten Coach of the Year award and was twice named the NFHCA West Region Coach of the Year honoree (2006 and 200). In 202, Wilkinson claimed her 200th victory at Ohio State, becoming the fi rst coach in program history to cap the 200-win milestone. In 204, she entered elite company, becoming just the 5th coach in NCAA history to reach the 300-career win mark. Wilkinson has brought one of Ohio State s longest running women s athletic programs into the national spotlight. During her years with the Buckeyes, she has developed 22 All-America selections and 69 All-Region honorees as well as 67 All-Big Ten award winners. The Buckeyes have been ranked in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association polls throughout her tenure, reaching as high as No. 3 in the 2006 season, and have made fi ve NCAA tournament appearances since 200. In 200, Wilkinson guided the program to its fi rst NCAA Final Four appearance in OSU history, which included a single-season best 8 victories and a co-big Ten regular season championship. In 7 years, Buckeyes have earned 94 NFHCA National Academic Squad awards, 5 Academic All-Big Ten selections, 73 OSU Scholar-Athletes accolades and three Big Ten Medal of Honor recipients - Linda Haussener in , Saskia Mueller in and Allison Blanton in Wilkinson is in her 28 seasons as a head coach with a (.586) mark during her tenure at Ohio State for the highest winning percentage of any head coach in the program s history. Of her 9 seasons with the Buckeyes, she has a winning percentage of.600 or better in of those years with only four seasons below.500. On Nov. 4, 2005, Wilkinson recorded the 200th victory of her career when Ohio State defeated Michigan State, -0, in the Big Ten tournament semifi nals. Most recently, Wilkinson claimed her 200th victory at Ohio State in a -0 win at UNH Aug. 26, 202, in Durham, N.H. She has guided the Buckeyes to three Big Ten regular-season championships (co-champs in 200, outright in 2006, co-champs in 200), a Big Ten tournament title (200), fi ve appearances in the NCAA tournament, one NCAA Final Four bid, 2 winning seasons and Top 3 fi nishes in the conference standings. In 20, the Buckeyes tied for second in the conference with a 4-2 mark and advanced to their third-consecutive NCAA Tournament - the fi rst time the program had done so in its 40-year history. In 200, Wilkinson led the Buckeyes to its most successful campaign in program history, including its fi rst NCAA Final Four appearance, a program-record 8 wins and a share of the conference regular season championship. The Buckeyes advanced to the NCAA semifi nals after defeating Syracuse, 3-2, in overtime Nov. 4 - the fi rst NCAA quarterfi nal game by any OSU team. In 2006, she guided the team to the fi rst win in NCAA tournament history when the Buckeyes defeated California by a score of 3- to advance to the second round. OSU also clinched its fi rst outright Big Ten regular-season championship with a 5- record in league play. During the 2005 and 06 seasons, Wilkinson guided the squad to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA tournament, also a program fi rst. The combined record for those two years was 30-, including a 5-4 overall record in 2006 for a.789 win percentage - the second-best in a season in OSU history, ranking only behind the Buckeye team that went -2- (.82) in their fi rst varsity season in 97. The Buckeyes concluded the 2006 season ranked No. 5 in the fi nal STX/NFHCA poll of the season, matching their highest ranking since 200. In the last three seasons, Ohio State has been nationally ranked, including time within the Top 0. The 5 wins in the 2005 and 06 seasons tied for the second-most in OSU history. In 200, Wilkinson led the Scarlet and Gray to yet another successful season when the team fi nished the year 5-5 overall, 5- in the Big Ten, No. 5 in the nation and garnered its eighth-consecutive winning season. The Buckeyes captured the fi rst Big Ten regular-season championship and conference tournament championship in the history of the program. The tournament title gave Ohio State an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, marking just the second appearance for Ohio State. Wilkinson came to Ohio State after an impressive nine-year stint as the head coach at American University in Washington, D.C. She was a two-time conference coach of the year and earned regional coach of the year accolades during her tenure. Her 994 squad fi nished 5-3 and received its fi rst national ranking at No. 5. That season, Wilkinson was named Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year as well as Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year. In her nine years at AU, she coached 20 all-conference players, one All-American and one CAA Rookie of the Year. The West Chester, Pa., native is a graduate of West Chester East High School and the University of Delaware. An outstanding scholastic fi eld hockey and lacrosse player, Wilkinson was named to the inaugural West Chester Hall of Fame class as the only female member inducted that year. At Delaware, Wilkinson was a two-time Mitchell & Ness All-American in fi eld hockey. She also was an All-American as a lacrosse player and helped lead the Blue Hens to a national lacrosse title in 983. Wilkinson was a four-year letterwinner in both sports. As a senior, she was named UD s Outstanding Senior Female Athlete, receiving the award with former NFL quarterback Rich Gannon as the Male Athlete of the Year. In November 2000, she was elected into the University of Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame. Wilkinson s international fi eld hockey experience included playing with the U.S. Under-2 National Team and the Under-23 National Team. She was a four-year participant in the U.S. Olympic Festival, capturing a gold medal in 985. In 998, she was an assistant coach for the U.S. Under-23 National Team. At the development level, Wilkinson is the director of the prestigious All-American Field Hockey Camps, Inc. For 20 years she has been the head of the summer camps, which now are held annually at The Ohio State University. She also is an active member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Wilkinson is married to the late Raj Bhangu and resides in Upper Arlington with their dogs Harley and Darby. 4

15 205 OHIO STATE FIELD HOCKEY MEDIA INFORMATION HOMERO PARDI KATE LIPTON Assistant Coach Second season Rider Uniersity 3 Assistant Coach First season Vermont 08 Homero Pardi is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Ohio State field hockey program. He joined the Buckeyes staff in July 204 after serving for two seasons as an assistant coach at Rider University. We are excited to have Homero join our staff, head coach Anne Wilkinson said. Homero brings a wealth of experience and energy which makes him one of the best coaches in the business. His strong ability to positively relate with student-athletes has made him one of the best recruiters in our sport. I m looking forward to Homero sharing his tactical and technical knowledge with our team and helping us reach our goals. Pardi was at Rider for two seasons and helped the Broncs win the 202 Northeast Conference regular season and tournament titles and the 203 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season championship. Overall, Rider won 28 games over the last two seasons. Pardi coached the MAAC co-player of the Year, the Rookie of the Year and a member of the Longstreth/NFHCA Mid-Athletic All-Region second team. It s a privilege to have the opportunity to be a part of The Ohio State University, the athletic department and the field hockey team, Pardi said. Coach Wilkinson has presented me with the tremendous opportunity to work for an elite institution that strives for excellence in everything it does. I m looking forward to working with this team and helping Buckeye field hockey reach top national rankings. From 2008-, Pardi coached at Princeton, where the Tigers were a perennial top-0 team and advanced to the 2009 Final Four. His duties included scouting analysis, practice planning and video breakdown. Prior to Princeton, Pardi was an assistant at Georgetown from and Kent State from In addition to his college coaching experience, Pardi has served as a coaching director of Champion s Edge Field Hockey since 2003, a program that includes camps and clinics for players between the ages of 8-2. A member of several Venezuelan national teams, Pardi was on the Indoor Pan American Cup team in 2002 and played in the America s Cup in He participated in the Junior Pan American Championship in 996 and 2000 and played in the Pan American Clubs Championship from 999 to 200. Pardi also participated in the Central American and Caribbean Games, where he helped his team finish fourth overall. In May 2004, Pardi played in the Pan American Cup in Canada. Pardi earned a bachelor s degree in Spanish with a minor in psychology from Rider University in 203. Kate Lipton is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Ohio State field hockey program. Lipton came to Columbus after serving as an assistant for the past two years at Indiana University. We are thrilled to bring Kate Lipton to Ohio State as our assistant fi eld hockey coach, said Wilkinson. Kate brings a wide variety of skills and abilities to our program and her experience in the Big Ten will be a huge asset. She is eager to get started and will make a big impact in recruiting, game-planning and coaching our student-athletes. I am excited to have the opportunity to join the Ohio State University field hockey program, athletic department, and community, said Lipton. I look forward to working with Coach Wilkinson, the amazing support staff, and a talented group of studentathletes. I am eager to contribute to the programs tradition of excellence and am honored to be a Buckeye. Lipton is a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, the USA Field Hockey Association and also owns USHFA Level II Coaching Accreditation. In the summer of 204, she completed an International High Performance Coaching course in conjunction with the Hockey World Cup at The Hague in the Netherlands. Lipton spent two seasons with the Hoosiers, fulfilling a variety of roles that included player/skill development, scouting, practice planning and recruiting. Specifically, she assisted in coaching the goalkeepers, was the primary liaison concerning academic progress and compliance and served as the team s recruiting coordinator. Lipton played a key role in helping Indiana win eight straight games to open the 204 season. Lipton joined the IU staff after serving as an assistant coach at Saint Louis University for three seasons. There, she was responsible for a variety of duties including practice plans, skill instruction, tactical development, recruiting, camp curriculum and fundraising. Prior to her time at Saint Louis, she was an assistant field hockey and lacrosse coach at Saint Michael s College from Lipton has also served as an assistant coach for the USA Field Hockey Futures Program and was a head coach of Aim Club Field Hockey, Virginia Commonwealth University Hockey Camps as well as the University of Vermont Field Hockey Camps. The Newton, Mass. native earned her Bachelors of Education in Elementary Education with a concentration in Sociology and Art from the University of Vermont before completing her Masters of Higher Education at Saint Louis University. SARAH LEMIEUX Student Assistant Coach Sarah Lemieux will serve as an undergraduate assistant coach for the Buckeyes in 205. Lemieux was the Buckeyes starting goalie in 203, making 7 starts and making 8 stops in 225:32 in the cage. She made a career high eight stops in a 3-2 overtime victory against New Hampshire and was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts. In the Big Ten Tournament semifinals against Michigan State, she matched her career high with eight stops. Indiana University of Pennsylvania. At Dublin Coffman, she was the team MVP for four straight years and was a three-time All-Ohio selection. Her sister, Katie, is a redshirt freshman for the Buckeyes.
