4 PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS Note: 28 student maximum in all programs unless specified otherwise. Players age and skill level must meet class requirements. These standards are in the best interest of the student and are in place to ensure quality in all PRIME TIME programs. The student/instructor ratio for most programs is 6:1. This may vary slightly for certain programs Advanced Skating, agility, Puck Control, ScorIng This is PTH's most generic program, touching on a variety of skills for the development of upper body, lower body, puck protection, and game simulation. The morning portion of this program deals almost exclusively with the development of skating, agility, edge control, coordination, quickness, symmetry, and puck control. PTH's unique methods of progression in these areas is perhaps what we are most recognized for. Inside and outside edges are fully developed. Lateral motion and shifting is emphasized, as it is an aspect of hockey that PTH places a great deal of importance. Our passing exercises, both in partner format and group format are the most unique and creative skill developing programs a player can experience. The afternoon portion of this program usually works on the development of all shooting techniques, scoring situations, puck protection, and various types of body contact. Various game simulations are also covered, such as 1 on 1, 2 on 1, play along the boards, quick decision making, and certain aspects of the defense position are all touched upon, just to name a few. That which makes PTH unique is the way in which edge work, agility, and symmetry are applied to all of these exercises as well - so that development of individual skill is constantly reinforced. Each shot will be broken down so that the student understands the mechanics of the shot. The program will also be cover all game shooting situations including Quick releases, One time shooting, Break-aways, Wrap-arounds, Quick give and goes, Rebounds, Shooting under pressure, Shooting on the fly, and Shooting on your off wing. With an entire full week of shooting and scoring drills, this program is guaranteed to dramatically improve your son or daughters shooting skill. Available in: Toronto (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #10, #11, #12, #14) PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS Complete Defense & Checking Skills he most difficult position to play in hockey. PTH believes in developing defenseman that "make plays" rather than developing defenseman that are "puck dumpers". While all aspects of backward skating, lateral motion, footwork and pivots will be strongly emphasized, so will puck control and puck movement. PTH aims to create defenseman that are exceptional players in the areas of transition and neutral zone play. Strong positional tactics will be covered in both defensive situations (closing the gap, 1-on-1, 2-on-1, angling, body checking, play along the boards, moving players from the front of the net, etc.) and offensive situations (precision passing, quick decision making, holding the offensive blue line, quick release of shot, rushing the puck, power play mobility, jumping into slot, etc.) Balance, quickness, agility, and mobility will be stressed as they are in all PTH programs, however this program will place a little more emphasis on backward and lateral motion, as these are necessary skills for elite players at this position. This program is a must for defenseman, but can be very useful for forwards as well. Available in: Toronto (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #11, #12, #14, #18), San Jose (#23) Adv. Edge, Balance & Puck Control Simply said, this is the most demanding and diverse skating development program that exists. This program will develop individual balance, agility, quickness, and coordination like no other. PTH considers maximum edge control to be a prerequisite for any player that wishes to excel as a skater. Symmetry between the left and right side of the body is an area of emphasis, as is the separation of the upper and lower body. Through various levels of progression players will be performing feats of athleticism on inside and outside edges, with and without pucks, with two hands and one hand on the stick, touching the ice with a free hand while on one skate, puck handling or puck rotating, forwards and backwards - and this is just one exercise!!!. Available in: Toronto (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, #11, #12, #14) Team Training Camp This program has been put in place to fill the growing demand for getting back on the ice before the start of the season and early bird tournaments. We can structure the program to fit your team s specific needs. Whether it s conditioning, team systems, defensive work, goaltender training or to help create some team chemistry, the Team Training Camp will help your team start off the season on top of the standings. Advanced Hockey For Beginners This fun but challenging program will provide young players with a solid foundation of the essentials skills required to advance their level of play. Special attention will be placed on all aspects of forwards and backwards skating. (Stride, edge control, cross-overs, stopping, turns, & puck control.) Skill specific games will be used to aid in improvement while providing fun for the students. Available in : Toronto (#17), Tri-Valley (#24) Goaltending Program Prime Time Hockey has the ability to provide goaltending instruction and training during any one of our programs.this program does not emphasize one particular style over another, instead working with the style of goaltending that the student already has. Skating, mobility, and puck control are always focused upon in addition to the various methods stopping the puck. 5 PRIME TIME HOCKEY S 2000 sq ft Shooting Center Summer TRAINING CAMP Prime Time Hockey is proud to operate the finest shooting facilities in Toronto and North Carolina, adding yet another dimension to the unique and diverse package that we can offer to the hockey family. Training in the shooting centre is incorporated into all of the summer camps that PTH offers in Toronto for 2009 (except #17,) The facility in North Carolina is brand new, and will be included as part of Camp #30 in Raleigh. Helping YOU Realize Your HOCKEY Dreams! SUMMER CAMP for GROUPS With our group training program, athletes will receive constant supervision by a certified strength coach.
