1 Progressive Barrel Racing Association Newsletter December 2016 On December 4 th, we held our final show for 2016 and what a turn out we had! Lots of people came out to get those points for the year end awards and paybacks! And we had 50 entries in our 4D open! That is just outstanding and we would like to thank all of you for participating and supporting our club! We also had several new people join us as members for the 2017 season and we would like to welcome them to our club! Our first show of 2017 will be held at Wayne s Place Arena located at 5804 S 339 th Avenue, in Tonopah. Directions: From I-10 take the 339 th avenue exit and head south (left). You will find the arena on the right side of the road between Broadway and the Salome Highway. There is a sign out front of the arena that says Wayne s Place Saddlery and Arena. We will also be presenting our 2016 year end award winners with their prizes as well. Time onlies will be wrapped up at 10:30 am and we will ask everyone to join us by the sign up table so that we can present our year end winners with their prizes. While we are presenting awards, we will be working the arena to get ready to start our show with our classes. This year we will start our show with our pole qualifiers and then we are going to run our pee-wee (D class) first. We only have 2-3 peewee s right now, so we have decided to let them run first and then we will go right into our A, B, and end the pole event with our C class. We will do the same with our barrel class. Qualifiers, pee-wees (D class), AAA, AA, A, B, and then finish with our C Class. Our 4D will always be the last event of the day. Books will open at 8:30 am. Barrel time onlies will be from 8:30 am 10:00 am followed by 30 minutes of pole time onlies. Our show will start with Pole classes at approximately 11:00 am (or earlier if arena is ready and awards presentation has been completed). Barrel classes will follow poles and then the 4D open.
