1 Progressive Barrel Racing Association Newsletter February 2016 Another FANTASTIC turnout for our February show that was held on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at South Buckeye Equestrian Center. This show was held on Super Bowl Sunday so to add a little fun, I held a door prize drawing where 2 lucky people could win a tailgater starter pack! To enter you had to wear your favorite NFL team apparel and that would get your name into the drawing. We had 34 people entered into the drawing! Congrats to Miki and Andrea who were the winners of our baskets and thanks to everyone that participated! With our club growing, we have been running behind schedule with our start time. So we are going to be working on some things that hopefully will help to get us started on time. These changes will begin with our March show. At the sign up desk you will find some members that will be helping you fill out your forms, verify the class you are in if you are unsure, and answering your questions. Once your form is complete they will send you to the other desk, where we will be collecting the entry fees. Time onlies for barrels are available for 1.5 hours starting when the sign up desk opens. Pole time onlies will be ran for 30 minutes immediately following. Starting in March, we will be tearing down the barrels when that 1.5 hours is up. As a courtesy to your fellow members that are waiting, please warm up outside of the arena so that you are prepared to make your time only run when you enter the arena. We would like for everyone to get their chance to take their time only, however we also need to make sure we are starting on time. We will have someone at the gate that will be monitoring the time onlies to also help keep them moving along. For our new members, the results are usually posted by the following weekend on our Facebook Page as well as The payouts for the classes and the 4D are done at the very end of the day following the completion of the 4D. If you have left or need to leave prior to the end of the show, your payouts will be available for pickup at the sign up desk at the next month s show. Our next show is scheduled for Sunday, March 5 th, 2017 ARENA TO BE DETERMINED!!!! Books will open at 8:00 am.
