2 Wendy D s 5-D Buckle Series Rules Points will be awarded in all divisions on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis for 1st place through 5th place among riders in that competition only, regardless of the number of entries or paying places. If two or more riders tie, the points for the tied positions should be added together and divided equally among the riders who tied. Points will not be awarded for any run during which a contestant knocks over a barrel. Competitors may ride as many horses as they wish in each class. However, if a contestant places in the same division on more than one horse, the highest placing horse will receive the points and any other horses ridden by the same contestant placing in that same division will receive only 1 point regardless of how high they place, thus skipping down to the next contestant to award the next set of points Each contestant may only receive one Top 3 or Buckle Award. If a contestant is in the top 3 in more than one division at the end of the series, awards for the division will be for the highest placing and the next contestant in line in the other divisions will receive the awards for those divisions. Ties for awards will be broken first by the number of events attended, then by coin flip if still tied. PROTESTS & COMPLAINTS Persons who believe a rule violation or infraction has occurred at any TLAFA event, may file a written protest with TLAFA Headquarters, PO Box 2852, Houma, LA, The written protest must be accompanied by a $50 protest fee. The protest must be made within 30 days of the incident which is being protested. If the protest proves to be valid, the $50 protest fee will be returned to the person filing the protest. If the protest proves to be invalid, the protest fee will be returned to the TLAFA where the protest was filed to be used for year-end awards. In certain cases, determined by the Executive Director, TLAFA may reserve the right to return the $50 protest fee even if the protest proves to be invalid. This is the ONLY manner in which a protest or complaint will be accepted. (NOTE: This rule does not prevent Directors and Show Managers from correcting obvious problems brought to their attention, without the submission of a written protest fee.)
