2 How it works Entries General Entry is $50 for Full TARC Members and $60 for TARC Event* and EA members. Your General Entry fee entitles you to participate in three events: Two dressage tests and a jumping round, or two jumping rounds and a dressage test. It does not include the Rescue Relays, for which entries will be taken on the day. If you only want to participate in showjumping, choose a Showjumping Entry ($25 for Full TARC Members, $30 for TARC Event/EA Members). This entry type entitles you to three jumping rounds only. If you would like to compete in more dressage tests or jumping round (to a maximum of three dressage tests or six jumping rounds - three per horse), you may add them to your entry fee at $20/$15 per dressage test and $12/$10 per jumping round. Entries will only be taken through Global Entries Online and will close on the 21st of June at 9:00PM. Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, but a reserve list will be taken. Reserves who are called up will incur a $10 admin fee in addition to their entry fee. Refunds No refunds will be made after the closing date for entries. The club will refund entry fees when presented with a veterinary or medical certificate within 48 hours of the competition. The club will retain $20 for admin costs. prizes Ribbons will be awarded to 5th place in all dressage tests and showjumping classes. The Red Nose winner in each dressage test will receive a bag of feed/voucher donated by The Feed Shed Bungendore! Elementary3.1 (10) Open to horses not graded out of this level All classes will be closed unrestricted (except classes 1,2,4 and 7 see restrictions above) and are open to TARC Members, TARC Event Members and members of Equestrian Australia. How to bribe your dressage judge This is a red nose dressage competition. Ribbons will be awarded twice for each test - tests will be scored in the usual manner and ribbons will be awarded to 5th place. Ribbons will also be awarded for the Red Nose Riders to 5th place. There are also generous prizes for the red nose section! Scoring for red nose riders works as follows: Wear a red nose during the test and receive an extra 5% for your score. Have your horse wear a red nose and receive an extra 5% added to your score (horses may wear noses on saddle blankets/tails). Judges will also be accepting bribes (donations to Sids and Kids) on the day if you are after further improvement to your final score. This will be added at judge s discretion after the final score is placed. Judges may award up to 10% more to your score for bribes. 3

4 Showjumping heights 1. Ground poles (to be scored on optimum time) 2. Cross rails (run under modified AM7/jump-off rules) 3. 45cm (Table C) 4. 60cm (Table C) 5. 75cm (Table C) 6. 90cm (Table C) Rescue relay A. Teams of 2. No obstacle higher than 45cm. B. Teams of 2. No obstacle higher than 75cm. Entries for the Rescue Relay will be taken on the day at $10/pair paid in correct change. All proceeds from the Rescue Relays will go to Sids and Kids. For this event there are two riders on the course at once. The first rider starts their round and continues until either they have a fault, they finish the round or the judge rings the bell. When the first rider has a knock down the second rider takes over the round starting with the jump after the jump knocked down. When the first rider has a refusal the second rider takes over the course at the jump refused (if it was knocked down during the refusal they must wait until it is put up again). If the first rider completes the round with no faults and the bell has not rung the second rider takes over from jump No I and continues on - finish flags do not apply. Swapping of riders when faults occur continues the same as above until the bell rings to finish the round. If the second rider is the one to finish the first round (i.e. the first rider had a fault) they continue on from the last jump to the first jump again. When the judge rings the bell your round is finished and you should jump the next jump in order. The winning pair is the one which gets furthest along the course. If there are equal placings the time taken from when the bell goes to when the horse takes off for the next jump is used to divide them. 4

5 Conditions of entry General TARC supports the principles of good sportsmanship. If you are known to compete at a higher level than you enter, you will be asked to reconsider your choice of class. This is an open event. Competitors are encouraged to wear correct riding attire. Riding club uniform and pony club uniform are acceptable in place of jackets. Entry fees must accompany entries. This competition will be conducted under EA rules with the exception of non-dressage saddles being permitted for the Preparatory levels. Non-members wishing to compete must join as an Event Member if they are not members of Equestrian Australia. Event Memberships are $30 and valid for a year (November - October.) Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstances, but a reserve list will be taken. Reserves who are called up will incur a $10 admin fee in addition to their entry fee. Any competitor seen to be engaging in dangerous or out of control riding will be asked to dismount and not permitted to participate further in the competition. Failure to follow any reasonable request from official or committee members of TARC will be met with disqualification and restriction of further entries to TARC events TARC Inc. is not responsible for any damage, loss, illness, injury, or accident to persons, animals or equipment. The organising committee reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel any section of the program. Dogs are not welcome at this event in line with TARC s Risk Management policy. No lunging in the warm-up area. All competitors are required to wear an AS/NZS or EN 1384 or ASTN F1 163 helmet at all times when mounted. Failure to comply with this ruling will result in elimination. EA Disclaimer Forms must be completed and submitted with the entry form if you are a member of the EA or TARC. Horses in the dressage must only be ridden by their entered rider for the day. Horses may not carry more than one rider at this event. 5

6 Dressage All classes will be closed unrestricted (except classes 1, 2, 4 and 7 see restrictions listed in Information for Competitors) and are open to all TARC competition and full members and invited members of the EA. There will be no official classes run at this event. Competitors in the elementary are to expect only one judge. Non-english saddles may be used for rider safety in the preparatory classes. Horses must be bitted for dressage at this competition and wear a noseband. Riders may ride 2 horses in the competition however horses must have only one rider on the day. You may only enter two consecutive levels and up to three tests. EFA graded horses CAN NOT compete lower than their graded level regardless of rider ability. Callers are permitted in all dressage tests. Riders who have previously won ANY Preparatory test may only ride in the open preparatory sections if they have not placed at Preliminary level. Jumping Riders may enter a maximum of three rounds on two horses (two horses each; maximum of six rounds total). Ground poles will be judged on optimum time, cross rails run under modified AM7 and all other classes will be run under Table C rules. 6
