1 2019 NATIONAL PONY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS Update Form DATE: Monday 7 th October to Sunday 13 th October 2019 VENUE: DISCIPLINES: Sydney International Equestrian Centre, Horsley Park, NSW Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing, Tetrathlon, Quiz Junior and Senior Mounted Games Team AGE GROUPS: Sub Juniors 10 to under 13 years of age as at 1 st January 2019 Juniors 13 to Under 17 years of age as at 1 st January 2019 Associates 17 years & Under 26 years at 1 st January 2019 Quiz Juniors 10 years and Under 17 years as at 1 st January 2019 Quiz Seniors 17 years and Under 26 years as at 1 st January 2019 TEAMS: Each state may nominate 6 riders per age group and discipline. COMPETITION Dressage CRITERIA: Sub-Juniors Prelim, Novice & Elementary level Juniors Prelim, Novice & Elementary level Associates Prelim, Novice & Elementary level Eventing Sub-Junior Juniors Associates 80cm max, showjump/cross Country height 95 cm max. showjump/cross country height 1.05 cm max. showjump/cross country height Showjumping Sub Juniors Maximum start height 80cm Juniors Maximum start height 1.10m Associates Maximum start height 1.15m Tetrathalon Sub Juniors 10 to under 13 years of age as at 1 st January 2019 Juniors 13 and under 17 years of age as at 1st January 2019 Associates 17 years & Under 26 at 1 st January 2019 Formal Gymkhana Sub Juniors Juniors Associates Jumping height 60-80cms Jumping height 70-90cms Jumping height cms Prince Phillip Mounted Games Junior Under 16 years Senior 16 years and under 26 years TEAMS: Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior teams from each State comprising of a minimum of three and a maximum of six riders. 1
2 APPLICATION PROCEDURE Only applicants who have been accepted by the Association on the LONG LIST may submit an update form application to be considered by Selectors. These applications have closed, update forms must be submitted by close of business on Friday 19 th July Please complete the required information for each discipline that you have been accepted on the LONG LIST for separately. SELECTION REQUIREMENTS The applicant must have attended at least three rally days in the preceding 12 months. The Club must recommend the applicant as being a suitable team member. The ZCI must recommend the applicant as being of a suitable standard to attend a National Championship. The applicant must be prepared to abide by all rules of the team manager and host state. The applicant must be prepared to pay any associated costs of the competition. (Note: The Association will endeavour to assist all team members as much as possible with costs). Separate forms to be completed for each discipline that the riders is nominating for and copies of grading cards to be enclosed. 8 DISCIPLINE OF TETRATHLON: COMPETITION CRITERIA: 1. SHOOTING Target at 10 metres using laser pistols. Each competitor will have two snapshooting targets each with 5 shots fired consecutively and with a timer limit of two minutes per each round of five shots. 2. RUNNING competitors to run 1000m Sub-Juniors, 2000m for Juniors or 3000m for Associates all within an optimum time. Penalties will be incurred for time over the specified optimum time. 3. RIDDEN A combination of derby and Showjump style fences. 70cm max height for Sub- Juniors, 80cm max height for Juniors and 90cm max height for Associates. All courses may have ma. 2 x doubles slip rail and gate. PC Tetrathlon Rules 4. SWIMMING Competitors will swim 100m for Sub-Juniors, 200m for Juniors and Associates within an optimum time. Penalties will be incurred for time over the specified optimum time. 10 2019 SENIOR MOUNTED GAMES SQUADS Application for Selection at Mounted Games State Championship ELIGIBILITY SENIOR Riders must have turned 16 years by 1 January 2019 and under 25 years at the time of the national competition. Applicants must have attended at least three instructional days in the preceding twelve months and be recommended by their Club and Zone Chief Instructor. Applicants must have their C Certificate and have attended at least three rally days in the preceding 12 months. A copy of the certificate is to accompany this application form. Applicants, if selected, must attend each training day as decided by the Coach. Applicants must fill out the Horse ID form for Mounted Games Squad along with this form. The NSW teams to compete at the National Championships will be selected from the Senior MG Squads long list. 12 2019 NSW JUNIOR AND SENIOR NATIONALS QUIZ TEAM NOMINATIONS DATE: Monday 7 th October to Sunday 13 th October 2019 VENUE: Sydney International Equestrian Centre, Horsley Park, NSW ELIGIBILITY JUNIOR Participants aged 10 and under 17 years as at 1 st of January 2019 (i.e. no older than 16 years during the year of national competition). SENIOR Participants must have turned 17 years by 1 January 2019 and under 26 years as at 1 st of January Applicants must be an active member of a club and have attended at least three instructional days in the preceding twelve months and be recommended by their Club and Zone Chief Instructor. Applicants must have their relevant Efficiency Certificate and have attended at least three rally days in the preceding 12 months. Juniors Minimum D* - maximum C*/K, Seniors Minimum C*/K - no maximum limit. A copy of the certificate is to accompany this application form. Applications may be asked to be assessed in a formal test situation similar to those of the competition and will need to be available during the month of June to do so.
