2 specification Breehorn 41 2 /6 Construction and certification The Breehorn 41 is built in accordance with the European CE-certification scheme and meeting the requirements of the CE-directive 94/25/CE class A. The construction is meeting the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping. This means that high standards are set for the constructional strength of the hull and deck, bulkheads, keel and rudder and the fastening thereof, safety and stability, engine installation, gas installation and the availability of owner documentation. The Breehorn 41 is built to design category A. Hull and deck Both hull and deck are constructed from glass reinforced plastic(grp). The gel coat and the first two polyester layers are of ISO N.P.G. quality (isophthalic-neopentyl glycol (ISO/NPG) polyester resin). Above the waterline the hull consists of a sandwich construction with 20 mm PVC foam. A similar construction method is used for the deck. The interior liner and s/s frame with integrated water tanks under the floor make for a very stiff structure. The hull/deck joint is fully kitted with structural adhesives through-bolted with stainless steel (s/s) bolts. Keel The keel, made of lead, is fixed with stainless bolts welded to the s/s frame. Rudder The rudder consists of an aluminium rudderstock with three pairs of welded cross plates, laminated and filled with foam. The rudderstock is supported by Jefa bearings in the hull and cockpit floor. Wheel steering (diameter 1.30 m) and a Jefa pedestal is standard. Deck equipment Teak The cockpit and cockpit edge are laid with solid teak. Hatches and portholes Fore cabin: One hatch of 70x70 cm and one hatch of 30x30 cm Shower: One hatch of 30x30 cm Main cabin: Two hatches of 45x60 cm and two fixed and two opening portholes in the coach roof Pantry: One opening porthole Heads: One hatch of 30x25 cm and an opening porthole Aft cabin: One hatch of 30x25 cm and one opening porthole Entrance: Plexiglas sliding hatch and three-part washboard All hatches have smoked glass. Cockpit lockers In the cockpit are four cockpit lockers, two aft and two under the cockpitseats sb and port. In the cockpit coamings are boxes for the storage of small items. Separate ventilated locker for two 5 litre gas bottles with electric turn off system. There is a self-draining anchor well in the foredeck. Spray hood The sprayhood is made of a s/s tubular frame and heavy duty sail-cloth. If desired an extra s/s handhold(leather cover optional is added to the rear of the spray hood.

Mast complete with two self tailing halyard winches, a self tailing reef line winch, a rope clutch, cleats. Tricolour top light, white all round anchor light, masthead steaming light and decklight. Windex. Optional removable genaker pole on the bow. The overhead is white with teak accents. Separate handholds near the companionway, the galley and chart table. Where possible, the grain of the wood on doors and frames is matched. Locker doors with hinges and finger snappers. Main cabin U-shaped sofa to port with folding table. Longitudinal sofa to starboard. Both sofas can be used as berth. Chart table A spacious chart table with ample room for navigation equipment and storage for charts and pilots. Fuse panel with automatic fuses, volt- en ammeter. Electrical bilge pump with automatic switch. Anchor 15 kg Bruce anchor with 40 m, 8 mm, chain. The anchor can be fixed on the bow-roller, the chain is fed into a special chain locker underneath the anchor well. Mooring gear 4 dock lines and 4 fenders. Equipment A steering compass mounted on the pedestal, log- and depth display mounted underneath the doghouse. A car radio with speakers.
