2 Notice of Race (NP) denotes that a breach of this rule will not be grounds for protest by boat. (DP) denotes a rule for which the penalty is at the discretion nof the protest committee and may be less than disqualification. (SP) denotes a rule for which a standard penalty may be applied by the race committee without a hearing. 1. RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). 1.2 (DP)The rules of the relevant class boat association shall apply. 1.3 The Green Fleet will be governed by the World Sailing Introduction Rules of Sailing. 1.4 (SP) Australian Sailing Special Regulations Part 2 Off the Beach Boats will apply. It is the responsibility of all competitors to ensure that life jackets comply with a standard equivalent to those listed in the regulations. 1.5 Appendix T, Arbitration, applies for the regatta where there is a jury appointed by AS and shall be published on the official notice board. 1.6 RRS Appendix P - Special Procedures for Rule 42, will apply 1.7 Rule P2.3 will not apply and Rule P2.2 is changed so that it will apply to any penalty after the first one. 2. ADVERTISING 2.1 (NP) Boats may be required to display bow numbers and/or advertising as required by the Organising Authorty.. 3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 Competitors shall enter and support boats shall register for the event by completing the online registration via the event website and paying the required fees. Online entry opens on 1 August, 2018 and late entry fees apply after midnight 9 September, The SA Youth Tri Series Regatta is open to the following classes: A minimum of 3 entries are required to constitute a class. Classes with less than three entries may be allocated to mixed class divisions based on AS yardstick. Single Handed Laser 4.7 Optimist Green Laser Radial Optimist Intermediate Optimist Open Double Handed O Pen Bic Silver Int 420 O Pen Bic Gold Int 29er Bic Techno 293/Plus Int Cadet 3.3 Other classes may be included and classes may be merged at the discretion of the Organising Authority. 3.2 (NP) Competitors must be under 21 years of age at 31 December, Competitors under 18 years of age, a parent/guardian shall sign a consent and declaration form at registration. The form will be available at the regatta office. 3.4 All competitors shall be members of a club affiliated with Australian Sailing or a World Sailing MNA. 3.3 Both Helmsman and Crew must be under 21 years of age at 31 December 2018 to be eligible for a SA Youth Tri Series result.

3 3.5 All competitors shall be members of a club affiliated with Australian Sailing or a World Sailing MNA. 3.6 Late entries may be made at the host club during registration. 4. FEES 4.1 Fees are stated in AUD and include any local taxes (GST). SCHEDULE 5.1 SA Youth Tri Series: Event Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Host Club Lake Bonney Yacht Club Sept 2018 Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club Nov 2018 Largs Bay Sailing Club 9-10 February 2019 Time of Warning Day hrs Day hrs Day hrs Single Event Late Entry Applies 24 Sept 2018 & Series Entry Due Date 19 Nov Feb 2019 Registration 29Sept Nov Feb A Briefing will be conducted at 0930 on the first day of each round. 5.3 (NP) Registration must be completed prior to 1030 hrs on the first day of racing. 5.4 No Warning signal will be made after 1600 on day two of each round. 5.5 Prizes will be presented as soon as possible after racing on day two of each round. 5.6 A maximum of 8 Races are scheduled for each round. 5.7 There shall be no more than 3 races in any one session. 6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 6.1 The sailing instructions will be available one week before the event for each round on the website and will be posted on the Official Notice Board. Other documents governing the event may be published with the Sailing Instructions 7. VENUE 7.1 The SA Youth Tri Series Regattas (rounds) will be conducted at the Lake Bonney Yacht Club, Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club and Largs Bay Sailing Club. 7.2 Racing will be conducted on the waters in the vicinity of the host club.

THE COURSES 8.1 The courses will be trapezoidal, windward/leeward or triangular. 8.2 Course diagrams, including the approximate angles between legs, the order in which marks are to be passed, and the side on which each mark is to be left, will be detailed at the briefing and displayed on the Notice Board. 8.3 The target time for races will be approximately 40 minutes. 9. PENALTY SYSTEM 9.1 For the 29er events, RRS 44.1 and RRS P2.1 are changed so that Two- Turn Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty. 10. Equipment Inspections 10.1 (NP) (DP) Boats may be subject to equipment inspection at any time during the serie 11. SCORING 11.1 Three races are required to be completed to constitute a regatta (round) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score The overall results for the SATri Series will be the total of the series scores of all 3 rounds and will be scored using RRS Appendix A9 12 Support Boats 12.1 (NP) All support boats shall register via the online registration with the Organising Authority and will be required to comply with local legislation and event support boat regulations. The Organising Authority may refuse registrations and accept later registration at their sole discretion. Local marine regulations specify the safety equipment to be carried and conditions under which life jackets (PDF 1) are to be worn. A copy of the regulations is available at safety equipment for powered vessels and life jackets All support boats are required to carry a working VHF Radio 13 Berthing 13.1 (NP) (DP) Boats shall be kept in their assigned places either in the dinghy park or afloat as described by the Organising Authority during registration and check-in. Trailers shall not be left within the boat park during the regatta. All trailers maybe stored in the areas provided by the Organising Authority. 14. RADIO COMMUNICATION 14.1 (DP) Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make nor receive radio transmissions, text messages or cellular phone calls while afloat except in an emergency or when using equipment provided by the race management 15. PRIZES 15.1 Prizes will be awarded as follows: When there are 6 or more boats in a class then First, Second and Third Overall for that class. When there are 4 to 6 boats in a class then First and Second Overall for that class. When there are 3 or less boats in a class then First Overall for that class Medals will be awarded at the completion of each round per NOR 15.1 above Medals will be awarded for overall results based on the the results as per NOR Other prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the Organising Authority.

5 16. DISCLAIMER 16.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The Organising Authority and host clubs will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, or prior to, during, or after the regatta. 17. INSURANCE 17.1 Each participating competing boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $5,000,000 (recommended $10,000,000) per incident or the equivalent The Organising Authority may request a copy of the Certificate of Currency 17.3 Third Party and Boat Insurance can be purchased via Nautilus Marine 18. MEDIA RIGHTS (NP) (DP) 18.1 In participating, a competitor automatically grants to the Organising Authority and the sponsors, the right in perpetuity, to make, use and show, from time to time and at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or film television and other reproductions of him/her during the period of the competition in which the competitor participates, and in all material related to the said Event without compensation Boats may be required to carry cameras, sound equipment or position equipment as specified by the Organising Authority Competitors may be required for interviews or press conferences at the regatta. 19.
