2 Merits دعاء بعد الزيارة ألمير المؤمنين In his book of al-mazar, Sayyid ibn Tawus says: Whenever you offer an obligatory or a supererogatory prayer during your residence in the holy shrine of Imam `Ali Amir al-mu'minin (A), you are recommended to say the following supplication:

3 ا لل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د وآ ل م ح م د O' Alláh send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

4 الر ح ي ن ب س م ا لل الر ح م In the Name of Alláh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. bismi allahi alrrahmini alrrahimi

5 م ن ام ر ك ب د ال ا لل ه م O Allah there is no way to do Away with Your constitution, allahumma la budda min amrika

6 ك و ال ب د م ن ق د ر Nor a possibility to run away from Your power and influence, wa la budda min qadarika

7 و ال ب د م ن ق ض ائ ك nor a chance to undo Your judgments and decisions, wa la budda min qada'ika

8 ل اال ب ك و ال ح و ل و ال ق و ة and there is no might nor strength save in You wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa bika

9 ا لل ه م ف م ا ق ض ي ع ل ي ا م ن ق ض ا ء O Allah, therefore, decide and Prescribe for us that which You Resolve,,, allahumma fama qadayta `alayna min qada'in

10 او ق د ر ت ع ل ي ا م ن ق د ر Or render possible for us that Which You considers suitable, aw qaddarta `alayna min qadarin

11 ف اع ط ا م ع ه ص ب ا ي ق ه ره و ي د م غ ه And along with it give us Patience, (make it our) habit And identity, fa'a`tina ma`ahu sabran yaqharuhu wa yadmaghuhu

12 و آج ع ل ل ا ص اع دا ر وا ك Let it obtain (for us Your Blessings and favours, waj`alhu lana sa`idan fi ridwanika

13 ي مي ح س ات ا و ت ضيل ا (let it) Make our good deeds grow and Sprout,(and also) our learning, yunmi fi hasanatina wa tafdilina

14 و س ؤ د د ن و ش ف ن ا our influence, our nobility wa su'dadina wa sharafina

15 و م ج د ن و ع م ائ ا Our strength, our happiness wa majdina wa na`ma'ina

16 و ك ر ام ت ا آ دل ي ا و آلر ر ة and Our honour In this world and in the Hereafter. wa karamatina fi alddunya wal-akhirati

17 و ال ت ق ص م ن ح س ات ا Do not take from And cut down our benefits, wa la tanqus min hasanatina

18 ا لل ه م و م ا اع ط ي ن ا م ن عط ا ء O Allah, and that which You Have given allahumma wa ma a`taytana min `ata'in

19 او ف ض ل ت ا ب ه م ن ف ض يل Or has left a surplus with us in Addition, aw faddaltana bihi min fadilatin

20 او اك ر م ت ا ب ه م ن ك ر ام Or has bestowed free gifts upon Us as a kindness: aw akramtana bihi min karamatin

21 ف اع ط ا م ع ه ش ك را ي ق ه ر ه و ي د م غ ه And with it grant us the ability To give thanks, (make it our) habit and identity, fa'a`tina ma`ahu shukran yaqharuhu wa yadmaghuhu

22 و آج ع ل ل ا ص اع دا ر وا ك let it be our means to reach Your blessings. waj`alhu lana sa`idan fi ridwanika

23 و ح س ات ا و س ؤ د د ن (let it help us) in our good conduct, wa fi hasanatina wa su'dadina

24 و ش ف ن ا و ع م ائ ك in our influence in our noble disposition; wa sharafina wa na`ma'ika

25 و ك ر ام ت ك آ دل ي ا و آلر ر ة and through it let us obtain Your bounties and benefits in This world and in the Hereafter, wa karamatika fi alddunya wal-akhirati

26 و ال ت ع ل ل ا اش ا و ال ب طر ا (but because of these favours)let us not indulge in boisterous wantonness,nor in carelessness. wa la taj`alhu lana asharan wa la bataran

27 و ال ف ت و ال م ق ت ا Nor in mischief-making nor in Bigotry wa la fitnatan wa la maqtan

28 و ال ع ذ ااب و ال ر ز اي آ دل ي ا و آل ر ر ة and let it not be a cause for penalty, nor for disgrace, in This world and in the Hereafter. wa la `adhaban wa la khizyan fi alddunya wal-akhirati

29 ل ا لل ه م ا ن ع و ب ك م ن ع ة آلل س ا ن O Allah we take refuge with You to refrain from loose talk. allahumma inna na`udhu bika min `athrati allisani

30 و س وء آل م ق ام To stay away from the Infamous areas of ill-repute, wa su'i almaqami

31 و ر آل م زي ان And to get rid of frivolity and Levity. wa khiffati almizani

32 ا لل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د وآ ل م ح م د O Allah send blessings on Mohammad and on the children Of Mohammad, allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

33 و ل ق ن ا ح س ات ا آل م م ا ت Let our good deeds pray for us In the hour of death wa laqqina hasanatina fi almamati

34 و ال ت ر ن ا ع ال ا ح ا ت do not let Our deeds appear sand And dejected; wa la turina a`malana hasaratin

35 و ال ت ز ن ع د ق ض ائ ك do not put us to Shame at the time of judgement, wa la tukhzina `inda qada'ika

36 و ال ت ض ح ا ب س ي ات ا ي و م ل ق ا ك Do not cover us with the Disgrace of our wrongdoings on The day we shall meet You wa la tafdahna bisayyi'atina yawma nalqaka

37 و آج ع ل ق ل وب ا ت ذ ك ر ك و ال ت ن س ا ك Make us remember You from the depth of our hearts, not to Ever forget You waj`al qulubana tadhkuruka wa la tansaka

38 و ت ش اك ك ن ا ت ر اك ح ت ى ل ق ا ك But to stand in awe of You, as If You are right in front of us, Till we meet You wa takhshaka ka'annaha taraka hatta talqaka

39 و ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آ ل م ح م د Send blessings on Mohammad And on the children of Mohammad wa salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

40 و ب د ل س ي ات ا ح س ا ت And let us do good and stop Wrongdoing wa baddil sayyi'atina hasanatin

41 و آج ع ل ح س ات ا د ر ا ت let our goodness Become a habit, waj`al hasanatina darajatin

42 و آج ع ل د ر ات ا غ ر ف ا ت let our habit (of Goodness) be a means of Deliverance (to reach the Paradise). waj`al darajatina ghurufatin

43 و آج ع ل غ ر ف ات ا ع ال ي ا ت Let our deliverance be Absolute waj`al ghurufatina `aliyatin

44 ل ق ري ن ا لل ه م و او س ع O Allah let the unfortunate, Among us, allahumma wa awsi` lifaqirina

45 م ن س ع م ا ق ض ي ع ل ى س ك get more from that which You Yourself Determine. min sa`ati ma qadayta `ala nafsika

46 ا لل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د وآ ل م ح م د Send blessings on Mohammad And on the children of Mohammad allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

47 و م ن ع ل ي ا ب ٱل ه د ىى م ا اب ق ي ت ا And favour us with the true Guidance wa munna `alayna bilhuda ma abqaytana

48 و آل ك ر ام م ا اح ي ي ن ا so as to take care of us in this world, and with Generous kindness So as to keep us alive walkaramati ma ahyaytana

49 و آل م غ ر ة ال ا ت و ف ي ت ا Let Your Mercy cover us when we die, walkaramati idha tawaffaytana

50 و آل ح ظ م ا ب ق ي م ن ع ر ن Protect us during the rest of our lives walhifzi fi ma baqiya min `umrina

51 و آل ب ك م ا ر ز ق ت ا Multiply our provisions, walbarakati fi ma razaqtana

52 و آل ع و ن ع ل ى م ا ح ل ت ا help us to carry our burdens wal`awni `ala ma hammaltana

53 و آلث ب ات ع ل ى م ا و ق ت ا make us stand up to that which Troubles us; walththabati `ala ma tawwaqtana

54 و ال ت ؤاخ ذ ن ب ظ ل م ا Do not take us to task for our Intemperance wa la tu'akhidhna bizulmina

55 و ال ت ق اي س ا ب ه ل ا do not discredit Us because of our ignorance wa la tuqayisna bijahlina

56 و ال ت س ت د ر ج ن ا ط ااي ن Do not let us get used to our Errors wa la tastadrijna bikhatayana

57 Du a after Ziarat of Imam Ali (A) و آج ع ل اح س ن م ا ق ول ث بتا ق ل وب ا Let that which we say be Meaningful and reasonable,let us be sure and firm in our ideas & thoughts; waj`al ahsana ma naqulu thabitan fi qulubina

58 و آج ع ل ا ع ظ م اء ع د ك Give us a high rating in Your Estimation, waj`alna `uzama'a `indaka

59 و ا ل ا س ا let us Be modest in our own assessment wa adhillatan fi anfusina

60 و آ ع ا ب م ا ع ل م ت ا Let that which we learn be Useful for us wanfa`na bima `allamtana

61 و ز د ن ع ل ام ن ف ع ا And make the knowledge more Beneficial for us wa zidna `ilman nafi`an

62 و اع و ب ك م ن ق ل ع ي ش ال ب I take refuge with You from a heart that doesnot take warning wa a`udhu bika min qalbin la yakhsha`u

63 ت دم ع ال و م ن ع ني From the eyes that do not shed Tears, wa min `aynin la tadma`u

64 ت ق ب ل ال و م ن ص ال ة from the prayers that do not bring results, wa min salatin la tuqbalu

65 اج ر ن م ن س وء ال ت keep me safe from the evil of disorder, ajirna min su'i alfitani

66 اي و ل آ دل ي ا و آل ر ر ة O Supreme Sovereign of the world and the Hereafter ya waliyya alddunya wal-akhirati

67 ا لل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د وآ ل م ح م د O' Alláh send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
