4 sports + underwater housings 35mm Arri 435 Sports housing Underwater Mode Handheld Mode This sports housing was developed after extensive experience filming in the surf, underwater and on the surface. Traditionally, you needed three kinds of housings for each of these uses being a surf housing (home made ones with old lenses), a bag (with zippers) and underwater housing (big heavy ones going to a depth of 100m plus). This design can facilitate production filming that any DP can use. It s not an owner operator system and is designed to be very simple and easy to use. The system allows the operator to configure it to suit any shot under or above water. There is a vacuum system for sealing the sports housing on the surface so that the camera assistant can be assured that the sports housing is sealed using o rings not zippers. Weighing only 7kg (without camera) means it can be comfortably used as a handheld. The WETPORT system also allows the DP to shoot on the surface and not worry about spinning discs and compressed air on the water. You can actually shoot through a very thin skin of water like your eye is wet, so is the lens and droplets of water or transitions from below to above dissolve. When flying, this housing can be checked in baggage and does not attract expensive excess freight charges. The ballast (or lead weights used to sink the sport housing in underwater mode) are 3lb dive weights you can find everywhere in the world adding to the excellent portability of this housing. The video split uses RG6 HiDef cable for perfect image. Dome, flat port and WETPORT System. There is also a special port for the Optimo. Great underwater or in surf mode. You can use the cameras VF or top monitor or, as an extra, the Panasonic six inch monitor. The housing comes with trim weight for perfect balance. Video split is via the RG59 cable with wet mateable connector so you can disconnect underwater or if the cable gets damaged, water will stop at the connector. This housing is designed for prism or side by side configuration for the Element Technika 3D SI2K system or anything else you would like to fit in it.it takes all cameras you just need to have the right length remote cables.it has a unique cable snorkel system to allow the cables to be freely pulled through quickly and allow any replacement without the use of expensive water connectors. The housing is easily trimmed and balanced to the operators feel underwater. It uses a large 6 inch Panasonic BTLH80WE high res monitor witch can take HD or comp video in as well.preston system drives the Dual focus and iris system.it is cooled by continual compressed air system. 10 sports + underwater housings Splashbox This is the ultimate box. Lightweight, carbon fiber construction allows the DP to hang over the edge and not hurt his back. There are three styles of port configuration. Wide window (Flat port) for big aspect, WETPORT for those half and half; and DOME port for the perfect half/half or full wide angle view underwater. It has a lexan top which is waterproof and the assistants can cut holes in it to suit any camera It comes with a cable snorkel For very wet environments this Splash box has the capability to be setup with remote roll and an external OR INTERNAL MONITOR monitor and waterproof fittings can also be attached. 12 sports + underwater housings Director or Dp Monitors There are two choices for stand alone monitors the Panasonic BTLH80WE which is a high res monitor perfect for exposure or color adjustment or the Panasonic TC 7 WMSI which is good for just framing composition and general viewing. Each monitor is vacuum sealed and comes with batteries and charger. 13 dive equipment Masks Full face masks allow diver to diver and surface to diver communications. There are two types AGA mask in yellow or black. Black is usually recommended for DPs or there is the Scubapro full face mask which is also recommended for DPs as it has a very shallow volume and you can get your eye quite close to the eyepiece. There are also clip on earpieces to any mask as a listen only unit. The above pictures also show the OTS SSB transmitter 1kw for large distances. You can use this system to either play music or alternatively record ocean sounds. For live TV OB s you can talk to your actors directly and they can talk back via the Ultrasonic buddy phone system so there is no cross over talking or party line sharing. Great way to manage an underwater shoot.
