1 PALMETTO BLUFF, SOUTH CAROLINA THINGS TO KNOW CLIMATE Palmetto Bluff enjoys a comfortable semitropical climate with temperatures that average in the high 80s in the summer and hover around 50 degrees during the winter months. Temperature variations between night and day are usually minimal. GETTING THERE You'll fly into Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), which is about a 30-mile drive from Palmetto Bluff. Delta and US Airways offer the most daily flights here, though you can also fly on American Eagle and JetBlue. Connections are available from several major airports, with most coming from East Coast cities like Atlanta, Charlotte and Washington, D.C. GETTING AROUND We recommend asking your Destination Concierge to arrange transportation from the airport, as you won't need a car once you get to the resort. The grounds are ideal for walking or riding bikes and everything you'll need is right there. Golf carts are available to rent for an additional daily charge. PVA s TIP: There is no better way to explore Palmetto Bluff than by bicycle. There are miles of trails that weave around the 20,000acre property, providing you the opportunity to get up close and personal with local wildlife. Complimentary bicycles and trail maps are available to use. PARKING Complimentary parking is available at your residence. Please note that you cannot park in the street. CHECK IN/ARRIVAL PROCESS You will first arrive and check in at Palmetto Bluff s front gate, where you will receive an information packet, four resort access cards and as many driving passes as needed. From there, you will drive directly to your residence to meet your Destination Concierge, who will give you a quick tour and orientation. Early check-in and late checkout can be accommodated when possible; let your concierge know if you are interested. 2 THINGS TO KNOW GROCERIES For just the cost of groceries, your Destination Concierge will be happy to fulfill your grocery order. Simply complete the order form on your Inspirato.com account at least 72 hours prior to your arrival. Additional shopping trips are $25 plus the cost of groceries. SPECIAL NOTE: Alcohol is not sold on Sundays in South Carolina. IN-RESIDENCE DINING OPTIONS Private chefs are available to come to your residence and cook a fantastic meal right in your own kitchen. Let your Destination Concierge know if you are interested in this so that all the arrangements can be made. STAY FIT During your vacation at Palmetto Bluff, you have access to two state-of-the-art on-site fitness centers, both fully equipped with everything you need for your workout. The River House fitness center open 24 hours has a full fleet of Precor cardio machines along with weight-training equipment, which you can use as you enjoy beautiful views of the adjacent May River. The center also includes an adults-only saltwater lap pool and a Jacuzzi (both open from 8 a.m. to dusk). Nearby at the Canoe Club complex, another fitness center offers additional equipment, a saltwater pool and Jacuzzi. Note that this fitness center is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the pool open 9 a.m. to dusk. You are also welcome to join an array of complimentary fitness classes. HOUSEKEEPING Daily. TIPPING GUIDELINES While our Destination Concierge teams and housekeeping staff welcome and appreciate recognition for exceptional service, tipping is entirely up to you based on your level of satisfaction. If you would like to leave a gratuity, we suggest the following general guidelines: + Destination Concierge: $20-$50 per day depending on the level of service you experienced. + Housekeeping: $5-$7 per occupied room per evening is typical for luxury hospitality. + Restaurants: The customary 15-20% of your total bill is appropriate. + Vendors: Gratuity is dependent on the complexity of the experience or service, so we suggest using your discretion. Please ask your concierge to arrange these activities in advance of your vacation. MUST-DO Dolphins regularly make appearances around the marshes and barrier islands near Palmetto Bluff. Take an ecotour through the idyllic coastal waters and rivers to spot the friendly animals splashing around. If you re lucky, bottlenose dolphins will jump into the air as your boat passes by.

4 THINGS TO DO ROMANTIC A simple, moonlit stroll through Palmetto Bluff s grounds will do but we suggest taking it up a notch. Kayaking on the river, with just the moonlight to illuminate your way, makes for an unforgettable experience. When dusk settles in, the tranquility of the river is truly breathtaking. Watch the forecast: kayaking for two is even better under a full moon. ADVENTURE The May River flows peacefully through Palmetto Bluff but that doesn t mean it can t get your adrenaline pumping. Try a tubing or paddleboarding excursion to experience a more active side of the river. Paddleboarding will get your heart beating as you push yourself through the water, while tubing lets you feel the spray on your face as a speed boat pulls you behind. NATURE You don t have to go far to find nature. The resort has created an intricate trail system that leads you throughout the gorgeous landscape, including areas that wind past palmettos and beneath a canopy of massive oak trees with streams of Spanish moss. You can get the lay of the land when you arrive, then return to your favorite spots throughout your stay. With 20,000 acres of preserves to explore, you won t be short on options. LOCAL There are dozens of islands tucked into the marshes and rivers around Palmetto Bluff, giving you plenty of secluded, off-the-beaten-path places to explore. Renting a boat is the best way to get into the nooks and crannies of the unique coastal ecosystem. We recommend boating to Daufuskie Island, a swath of land with pristine scenery and fewer crowds than other islands. Stop by Marshside Mama s Cafe for some local company and seafood. Buffalo s is open daily for breakfast and lunch, but counter service is available Thursday through Saturday until 9 p.m. ROMANTIC River House Restaurant (located on-site) Stepping into the River House Restaurant may feel like you re being transported back in time. The elegant space is housed in a beautiful building reminiscent of old Southern mansions right on the banks of the May River, lush with old, tall trees. Fine steakhouse dishes and seafood characterize the menu, much of which comes from local sources. SPECIAL NOTE: Gentlemen must wear collared shirts when dining at the River House.

5 RECOMMENDED RESTAURANTS FINE DINING Old Fort Pub (located 35 minutes away on Hilton Head Island) One of the area s most beloved restaurants, the Old Fort Pub has long been treating diners to upscale, modern interpretations of classic Southern fare. Beautiful views abound from inside and on the waterfront patio, both of which make a perfect setting for perusing the menu of seafood and steaks and the impressive wine and whiskey selection. LOCAL Old Town Dispensary (located 20 minutes away in Bluffton) This is a true local gathering place, due not only to the crowd-pleasing Lowcountry cuisine, but also to the fun features such as a weekly farmers market, live music, fire pits, cornhole supplies and more. Unwind as you nosh on comfort fare like burgers, sandwiches, appetizers and fried chicken. DC s TIP: Several times a year, the resort creates one-of-a-kind culinary experiences called Music to Your Mouth, in which top chefs, winemakers, artists and musicians collaborate for something wholly unique.
