1 LANCASTER AQUATIC CLUB LAC SPEEDO CLASSIC A/BB/C Meet Thursday - Sunday, July 10,11,12 & Held under the Sanction of USA Swimming Sanctioned by Middle Atlantic Swimming, Inc. Sanction # MA A In granting this sanction, it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free from any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of this event. LOCATION Franklin and Marshall College Kunkel Aquatic Center / McGinness Pool 929 Harrisburg Pike Lancaster, PA Day of meet ONLY emergency phone number: FACILITIES INDOOR competition pool is 50 meters; 8 lanes with a fully automatic timing. The starting end has a depth of 9 ft and the turn depth is 4ft. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with C(4) The facility is equipped with Wave Eater lane lines, Colorado timing system, Aqua grip pads and an eleven readout scoreboard and a line read out scoreboard. Seating in balcony for up to 400 spectators and seating for up to 550 swimmers on deck. Free parking is available adjacent to pool. Hospitality will be at all sessions for coaches, officials and volunteer workers. A food stand will be provided for by Franklin & Marshall A Speedo vendor will be on site to sell suits and equipment. 2 SAFETY DIRECTOR OFFICIALS ELIGIBILITY Nancy Hauck (717) (C) MA safety rules and warm up procedures apply. All swimmers should be familiar with these rules. Any swimmer disregarding the rules could be suspended from the meet. Any USA Swimming official who would like to work this meet should contact : Pat Durning at pdurning@gaf.com This meet is open to swimmers 9 years of age and older who are registered with USA Swimming for Open events are limited to swimmers 11 years of age and older. The 2014 USA Swimming rules will apply. Swimmer s age is as of the first day of the meet. Unregistered swimmers may register on deck at this meet by turning in the athlete registration form and payment to the Meet Director. The cost of registering on deck is double the normal fee ($120/swimmer for registration.) This applies to all swimmers attached to a club.

3 ENTRY LIMITATIONS The Meet Director reserves the right to limit the number of heats in certain events, or to limit the number of entries per swimmer in order to run the meet in a timely manner. Swimmers/teams eliminated from the meet due to time or space constraints will be given a full refund. Swimmers are limited to 4 events per day. The 1500 Freestyle will be Positive check-in deck seeded fastest to slowest alternating 1-heat women and 1-heat men. Check-in for this event will close at10:00am Friday, July 10, This event will be limited to the four fastest heats of women and the four fastest heats of men in order to fall in the four hour session rule. Swimmers cut from the 1500 freestyle will be refunded entry fees. Updates will be provided on LAC and MA site as to filling of this session Freestyle swimmers must provide their own timer and lap counter. POSITIVE CHECK-IN EVENTS This is a pre-seeded, timed final meet except for the following events, which, are positive check-in and deck seeded.: All Friday and Sunday events for 15 and over are positive check in The events will then be seeded, after check-in closes, and heat sheets will be provided to each team. All events Thursday, July 10, 2014 OPEN 400IM check in closes at 7:15 AM FREE- check in closes 7:15 AM OPEN 1500 FREE- check in closes 11:00 AM All teams and Unattached swimmers will be provided a check-in sheet for positive check-in, deck seeded events. Swimmers who check in for one of these events and fail to swim will be scratched from their next individual event with no refund provided session and 9-12 sessions will be pre-seeded events. The meet director reserves the right to make additional events positive check-in. In this event all teams and Unattached swimmers will be notified and provided a check-in sheet. Check-in sheets must be turned into the check-in desk 45 minutes before the start of the session. The events will then be re-seeded and revised heat sheets will be provided to each team and Unattached athlete.

4 SPECIAL NOTE WARM-UP & START TIMES DECK ENTRIES Fly-over starts will be used at this meet. All swimmers (except for Backstroke) should remain in the water at the completion of their race until the next heat has begun. Warm up sessions will be divided into periods of equal length depending on the number of swimmers entered in each session. Sprint/start lanes will be available at the end of each warm up session. Feet first entry only except in sprint lanes, when designated. Deck-entered swimmers will compete unofficially; the achieved time is official, but will not score in the meet for awards. Swimmers not already entered in the meet must provide proof of current USA Swimming registration or have coach present official team roster. To enter, please see the Meet Director before or during warm-up. SWIMMERS WITHOUT A COACH ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES Swimmers unaccompanied by a credentialed coach should report to the Meet Director before the warm-up for each session. Swimmers without a coach who are 12 & Under will swim with and be supervised by the host club during warmup. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement Middle Atlantic Swimming makes every effort to accommodate swimmers who are disabled in some way. Swimmers with a disability are welcome to enter this meet. The coach or team entry person must alert the meet director and the meet referee as to the need for any special accommodations or seeding arrangements at the time the entry is submitted.

5 HOW TO ENTER Entries should be sent compatible with Hy-tek Meet Manager. You may entries to Wynter Bledsoe at Entries are limited to 4 individual entries/day. Swimmers must enter with their best times or be subject to penalties set by Middle Atlantic Swimming. (These penalties could include a swimmer's suspension from competition for a minimum of 3 months, but not more than one year.) If a swimmer does not have an official time, please enter NT. Meet Director reserves the right to limit the number of entries/event in order to conduct a fair meet. If this is necessary, those affected will notified prior to the date of the meet and will be issued a refund. All payments should include a Meet Summary and PRINTED COPY of the entry (from Team Manager sorted by Name). Make checks payable to Lancaster Aquatic Club. Waive signature. Meet information and updates will be posted on the LAC website and MA website especially as it relates to sessions closing due to timeline ENTRY FEES $5.00 per individual event. Deck entries $10.00 $15.00 per swimmer processing fee for all manual entries regardless of whether the swimmer is from a team or unattached. $25.00 per swimmer surcharge for teams of 5 or more submitting entries manually. ENTRY DEADLINE RULES All entries must be received by 5 PM, June 30, No Late entries will be accepted. Time updates ONLY will be accepted until 5pm July 9, This meet will be conducted according to current USA Swimming rules. Middle Atlantic Swimming rules shall also apply. USA SWIMMING / MA SWIMMING SAFETY GUIDELINES AND WARM-UP PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE MEET. Only currently credentialed coaches, USA Swimming registered athletes and essential meet personnel will be permitted on deck. This meet will be conducted using the Whistle command and No-Recall False Start procedures.

6 SCORING & AWARDS Level A: Medals 1 st 3 rd, Ribbons 4 th 6 th Level BB: Rosettes 1 st 3 rd, Ribbons 4 th 6 th Level C: Ribbons 1 st 6 th The Free is a combined group event. The 9-10, 11-12, and age groups will be awarded separately. Awards will not be presented for 15 & over or Open events. PROGRAMS & ADMISSION RESULTS DIRECTIONS Admission $5.00 per day. Children under 12 years of age will be admitted free. Volunteer meet workers will be refunded their admission fee. Meet Program will be available via Meet Mobile at a $1.99 per program. Updated seeded events will be posted for spectators once event begins and extras made available. Results will be posted on the Middle Atlantic website and the Lancaster Aquatic Club website, From Baltimore, Washington and points south-take I-83 to Exit 9 East, which becomes Route 30 East. Follow Route 30 East to Lancaster and exit at the Harrisburg Pike exit. Turn right onto Harrisburg Pike and continue for 1.5 miles to F&M College. From Harrisburg Pike, turn left at first traffic light after passing under student overpass. As you enter the parking lot, McGuiness Pool is located in the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center to your left. From Harrisburg, Pittsburg and points west- Take the PA Turnpike to Harrisburg (Exit 19) onto Route 283 towards Lancaster. Exit on Route 30 West and proceed to Harrisburg Pike exit. Turn left onto Harrisburg Pike and continue for 1.5 miles to F&M College. From Harrisburg Pike, turn left at first traffic light after passing under student overpass. As you enter the parking lot, McGuiness Pool is located in the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center to your left. From Philadelphia, South Jersey and points east- Take the PA Turnpike to the Reading-Lancaster exit. Take Route 222 South to Route 30 West. Proceed to Harrisburg Pike Exit. Turn left onto Harrisburg Pike and continue for 1.5 miles to F&M College. From Harrisburg Pike, turn left at first traffic light after passing under student overpass.
