Sanction # MA A LOCATION FACILITIES Franklin and Marshall College Kunkel Aquatic Center/ McGiness Pool 929 Harrisburg Pike Lancaster, PA Day of meet ONLY emergency phone number: INDOOR competition pool is 50 meters; 8 lanes with a fully automatic timing. The starting end has a depth of 9 ft and the turn depth is 4ft. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with C(4) The facility is equipped with Wave Eater lane lines, Colorado timing system, Aqua grip pads and a eleven readout scoreboard and a line read out scoreboard. Seating in balcony for up to 400 spectators and seating for up to 550 swimmers on deck. Free parking is available adjacent to pool. Hospitality will be at all sessions for coaches, officials and volunteer workers. A food stand will be provided by Franklin & Marshall A Speedo vendor will be on site to sell suits and equipment. 2 SAFETY DIRECTOR OFFICIALS ELIGIBILITY Nancy Hauck (717) (C) MA safety rules and warm up procedures apply. All swimmers should be familiar with these rules. Any swimmer disregarding the rules could be suspended from the meet. Any USA Swimming official who would like to work this meet should contact : Adrienne Zell tamck@ptd.net This meet is open to swimmers 9 years of age and older who are registered with USA Swimming for The 2011 USA Swimming rules will apply. ENTRY LIMITATIONS Unregistered swimmers may register on deck at this meet by turning in the athlete registration form and payment to the Meet Director. The cost of registering on deck is double the normal fee($120/swimmer for registration.) This applies to all swimmers attached to a club. The Meet Director reserves the right to limit the number of heats in certain events, or to limit the number of entries per swimmer, or to otherwise modify the meet format, in order to run the meet in a timely manner. Swimmers/teams eliminated from the meet due to time or space constraints will be given a full refund. Swimmers are limited to 4 events per day. The 1500 Freestyle will be deck seeded fastest to slowest alternating 1-heat women and 1-heat men. Positive check-in for this event will close at 10:00AM Friday, July 5, This event will be limited to four heats of women and four heats of men in order to fall in the four hour session rule. Swimmers cut from the 1500 freestyle will be refunded entry fees. Updates will be provided on LAC and MA site as to filling of this session Freestyle swimmers must provide their own timer and lap counter. This is an age group meet. All swimmers are required to swim their age group session with the exception of the following: The 1500 freestyle and the 400IM will be open events and available to all swimmers. No awards will be given for these events. The 400 Free on Friday AM will be for ages All other AM events will be 15 and over and available to this age group only. Events 200 Back, 200 Breast and 200 Fly are open to swimmers between the ages of

3 SPECIAL NOTE WARM-UP & START TIMES Fly-over starts will be used at this meet. All swimmers (except for Backstroke starts) should remain in the water at the completion of their race until the next heat has begun. Warm up sessions will be divided into periods of equal length depending on the number of swimmers entered in each session. Sprint/start lanes will be available at the end of each warm up session. Feet first entry only except in sprint lanes, when designated. Deck-entered swimmers will compete unofficially; the achieved time is official, but will not score in the meet for awards. Swimmers not already entered in the meet must provide proof of current USA Swimming registration or have coach present official team roster. To enter, please see the Meet Director before or during warm-up. Swimmers unaccompanied by a credentialed coach should report to the Meet Director before the warm-up for each session. Swimmers without a coach who are 12 & Under will swim with and be supervised by the host club during warmup. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement All events will be seeded after teams declare scratches, EXCEPT 1 st event of each session, which will be pre-seeded. Each Team will have a roster with all events listed for each session, except those for which positive check-in is required. All sheets must be turned into the computer operator 15 minutes after the start of warm up. Swimmers that are present and swimming will have lines through their names. Swimmers that are being scratched will have their names circled with SCR next to the circle. Swimmers scratching a single event will have a line through their names and the event number circled with SCR next to the circle. Please use a simple line,

4 not a scribble, so that the name can still be read. No penalty if you don t swim after checking in. Positive check-in is required for the 400 IM, the 400 freestyle events and the 1500 freestyle. Positive check-in events will generally close for seeding thirty minutes before the expected starting time for that event. Any swimmer who positively checks-in for a deck-seeded event and does not swim that event may be barred from their next Individual event, whether on the same day or the next meet day. HOW TO ENTER ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES No converted times will be accepted. Entry times must be submitted in the course in which they were achieved. Non conforming times will be seeded in accordance with MA swimming policy. Meet information and updates will be posted on the LAC website and MA website especially as it relates to sessions closing due to timeline Middle Atlantic Swimming makes every effort to accommodate swimmers who are disabled in some way. Swimmers with a disability are welcome to enter this meet. The coach or team entry person must alert the meet director and the meet referee as to the need for any special accommodations or seeding arrangements at the time the entry is submitted. ENTRY FEES $5.00 per individual event. Deck entries $10.00 $15.00 per swimmer processing fee for all manual entries regardless of whether the swimmer is from a team or unattached. ENTRY DEADLINE RULES $25.00 per swimmer surcharge for teams of 5 or more submitting entries manually. All entries must be received by 5 PM, June 28, No late or new entries will be accepted. Updates will be accepted until 5 PM, July 3, This meet will be conducted according to current USA Swimming rules. Middle Atlantic Swimming rules shall also apply. USA SWIMMING / MA SWIMMING SAFETY GUIDELINES AND WARM-UP PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE MEET. Only currently credentialed coaches, USA Swimming registered athletes and essential meet personnel will be permitted on deck.

5 SCORING & AWARDS This meet will be conducted using the Whistle command and No-Recall False Start procedures. Level A: Medals 1 st 3 rd, Ribbons 4 th 6 th Level BB: Rosettes 1 st 3 rd, Ribbons 4 th 6 th Level C: Ribbons 1 st 6 th PROGRAMS & ADMISSION The Free and the 9-10, 11-12, and age groups will be awarded separately. Awards will not be presented for the Senior events. Scoring and awards will be as listed in the event title Admission $5.00 per day. Children under 12 years of age will be admitted free. Volunteer meet workers will be refunded their admission fee. RESULTS RECORDING BAN DECK CHANGING Results will be posted on the Middle Atlantic website and the Lancaster Aquatic Club website, The use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited.

6 DIRECTIONS From Baltimore, Washington and points south-take I-83 to Exit 9 East, which becomes Route 30 East. Follow Route 30 East to Lancaster and exit at the Harrisburg Pike exit. Turn right onto Harrisburg Pike and continue for 1.5 miles to F&M College. From Harrisburg Pike, turn left at first traffic light after passing under student overpass. As you enter the parking lot, McGuiness Pool is located in the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center to your left. From Harrisburg, Pittsburg and points west- Take the PA Turnpike to Harrisburg (Exit 19) onto Route 283 towards Lancaster. Exit on Route 30 West and proceed to Harrisburg Pike exit. Turn left onto Harrisburg Pike and continue for 1.5 miles to F&M College. From Harrisburg Pike, turn left at first traffic light after passing under student overpass. As you enter the parking lot, McGuiness Pool is located in the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center to your left. From Philadelphia, South Jersey and points east- Take the PA Turnpike to the Reading-Lancaster exit. Take Route 222 South to Route 30 West. Proceed to Harrisburg Pike Exit. Turn left onto Harrisburg Pike and continue for 1.5 miles to F&M College. From Harrisburg Pike, turn left at first traffic light after passing under student overpass.
