4 START TIMES Prelims (10 lanes): Warm-up: 8:00 9:50 am (Sprint / Pace lanes open at 9:00) Start Time: 10:00 am Finals (10 lanes) : Warm-up: 5:00 6:50 pm (Sprint / Pace lanes open at 6:00) Start Time: 7:00 pm

5 LANE BREAKDOWN Competition Pool Pace: lane 0 Sprint: lanes 1 & 8 (all starts from dive towers end except on Sunday) Para: lane 9 Backstroke Ledge: lane 7 (during Sprint / Pace lanes open at 9:00 am. & 6:00 pm.) Training Pool Para: lanes 0 & 1 Backstroke Ledge: lane 9 ONLY SWIMMER COMPETING IN THE SESSION SHOULD USE THE COMPETITION POOL DURING WARM UP

7 COMPETITION MANAGEMENT INFORMATION Over-the-top starts for Prelims (except for Para events) / Clearing the pool during Finals Swim-offs during the prelim session before the Time Trials Finals sequence: All A Finals -> awards interspersed -> all B Finals 50m and 150m event start at 50m end and finish at dive towers end

8 CALL ROOM PROCEDURES Swimmers report to ready room 15 minutes before scheduled start of race For A finals top 2 Canadians from B finals to report at the same time

9 BACKSTROKE STARTING LEDGE The IT will install the device The IT will also ensure the device is set at 0, initially The IT will check the strapping is free of any twists or knots and also that the wedge/ledge is sitting flat against the wall. Once the athletes arrive behind the block the athlete may change the setting and ensure secured into position, or swimmer may ask the IT what setting to position, or if they wish to use the device be removed.

10 HEAT SHEETS & RESULTS Prelims and Final Sheets: Available daily from the Clerk of Course Posted on event website, OMEGA live timing and Meet Mobile prior to each session. Foreign swimmer designation (OLYMPIC PROGRAM) No permitted to advance to A finals Max of 4 to advance to B finals Results: Posted after each event on the pool deck near Clerk of Course and on the upper stands level Posted after each event on the Swimming Canada website.

11 TIME TRIALS (OLYMPIC PROGRAM) Entries are first-come, first serve Entries will be accepted at the Time Trial Clerk of Course each morning from 8:30am until 10:30 am 2 entries permitted per swimmer over the 6 days 1 Hour Max time limit Events will mirror the prelim session except the 1500m time trial which will take place on Sunday Time Trials event schedule: available at Clerk of Course After entries close at 10:30 am, any swimmer that no-shows for their time trial event will be fined $50.00.

12 PARA-SWIMMING Seeding: straight time seeded regardless of the course entered or bonus swims S11 and S12 will not be seeded in an outside lane Swimming Canada protest and scratch procedures will be in place Tapping and starting device needs to be approved prior to the start of the competition

13 SCRATCH PROCEDURE Deadlines: Ø Tuesday Prelims: 30 minutes post Technical Meeting Ø Wednesday Sunday Prelims: 30 minutes following the start of Finals the previous evening Ø Finals: 30 minutes following Prelims on the Penalties for no show (heats and finals) scratches NOT accepted day of the final(excluding Time Trials)

14 DQ S AND PROTESTS Disqualifications: Disqualifications will be announced and include event number, heat number and lane number. Procedure for protests: Discuss DQ with the session Referee If not resolved, a written protest may be presented to the Referee. A written protest must be presented within 30 minutes after the conclusion of the event (protest forms will be available at the Clerk of Course) If not resolved after discussion of the written protest, the matter may be assigned to a Jury of Appeal.

17 ACCREDITATION INFORMATION Accreditation will be required to gain access to the pool deck. Access to the pool will be through the locker rooms and past the main security checkpoint. ALL athletes, coaching staff and support staff must have accreditation, individuals without accreditation will not be permitted pool access. Lost accreditation will be replaced at a cost of $60.00 per accreditation.

23 DOPING CONTROL The CCES will be conducting Doping Control during the meet All swimmers selected for Doping Control are required to have photo ID. Coaches are asked to instruct swimmers to bring photo ID to the competition.

24 AWARDS Medals for 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd place Medalists will be brought from basket retrieval to medal waiting area. Medalists can swim-down in dive tank. Coach/IST can visit athlete in medal waiting area. Swimmer will be asked to stay until their medal ceremony. All Para finalists are asked to remain in the basket retrieval area until results are scored If a swimmer is unable to attend their awards ceremony, please send a fully uniformed substitute swimmer in their place
