3 Alumni Spotlight AUTUMN SAMPLE 04 Autumn Sample is the Director of Strategic Partnerships for T4A.org, a non-profit working to increase government efficiency and innovation by convening meetings between technology executives and government officials. Prior to T4A.org, she specialized in west coast political fundraising at the presidential level, working for Obama for America and the Democratic National Committee. She started her political career in Washington State working on behalf of a slate of female candidates including Governor Christine Gregoire, Senator Patty Murray, and Senator Maria Cantwell during the 2004 and 2006 elections. Autumn swam for Purdue University from the fall of 2000 through the spring of 2004, and served as co-team captain her senior year. She majored in Public Relations and Political Science. She resides in San Francisco with her fiancé Chase Kurtz. One of Autumn s best memories of her Purdue Swimming and Diving days is probably the day to day work. I loved being around my teammates all the time, living in the same dorm/neighborhood, taking classes and eating meals together. It was such a special time in life and I will always treasure it!

From the Pool The Purdue Men s Swimming and Diving team finished the 2013-2014 season with 4 new All Americans and 9 new program

Layne Rogers and Jamie Bissett both scored in 3 Meter Diving with Rogers leading the way finishing 8th, and Bissett finishing 14th.

Swimmer Lyam Diaz finished 11th in the 200 yard Breaststroke, establishing a new team record.

9 From the Pool The Purdue Men s Swimming and Diving team finished the season with 4 new All Americans and 9 new program records. The Boilers finished 27th at this year s NCAA Championships. Layne Rogers and Jamie Bissett both scored in 3 Meter Diving with Rogers leading the way finishing 8th, and Bissett finishing 14th. Nate Cox also scored on the boards and finished 16th in Platform diving. Swimmer Lyam Diaz finished 11th in the 200 yard Breaststroke, establishing a new team record. 10 Boilers competed in the NCAA Championships. Jamie Bissett, Nate Cox, and Lyam Diaz led the way for the Boilers in the 2014 Big Ten Championship meet by being named 2nd Team All Big Ten. The Boilers finished 6th at this years championship showing a tremendous amount of depth with 16 student athletes scoring in the meet. Adam Soldati was named National Diving coach of the year by CaptainU.com for the divers dominating performance at this year s Diving Zone meet. For a full season recap please click here:

Michelle Cabassol and MacKenzie Tweardy led the way for the Boilers by earning All American Honors. Cabassol finished 10 th in 1 M Diving and 4 th in 3 M Diving. Tweardy finished 8 th in Platform Diving. The Boilers qualified a program record 10 athletes for this year s championship. He enjoys flight as it requires thinking on your feet and no day is ever quite the same.

14 Team News on Dry Land CONGRATS, LIZZY! FRESHMEN IN FLIGHT LYON RECOGNIZED IN NATIONAL CONTEST Sophomore Lizzy Lyon s submission to the National Kitchen & Bath Association s 2013 collegiate interior design contest was given honorable mention. Her project also earned 1st place in Indiana among those submitted by Purdue students. Josh Ehrman & Filip Bujoczek are both freshmen on the men s team majoring in Professional Flight. Ehrman currently has 100 hours flying a Cirrus SR-20/G. He enjoys flight as it requires thinking on your feet and no day is ever quite the same. Bujoczek says he loves his major because aviation has always been his passion. From the moment you lift off till you land, it s only you, plane and the sky and all your problems stay on the ground says Bujoczek.
