Channel Technology The health masseur system provides an intermediate to intense massage. This technology is engineered to knead muscle tissue and break down toxins that build up in the body's muscles. In this technology it is the bath water that does the work. The health masseur system delivers a massage ranging from an intermediate to highly vigorous tissue massage. We place a free-flowing and pressure balanced channel that is hand laminated to the perimeter edge of the bath well. Because the channel is a significantly large and continuous air space, we can generate a remarkable amount of air pressure flowing through it. Our channel provides a uniform flow of warmed air throughout the bath at high pressure and this in turn generates dynamic convection currents that encircle your body and knead its musculoskeletal frame. Our engineering ensures that no portion of the channel will be defeated by water pressure during operation and that gravity will drain the channel of residual water following operation. Injection Technology The aqua masseur system provides a gentle to intermediate massage. The aqua masseur system delivers a massage range from tactile/fingertip to intermediate tissue massage. We place injectors throughout the bath well having no more than two injectors in a series connected to a series of separate air hoses that are fed by a ten port pressure balancing manifold. The engineering of the air pressure delivery system allows us to deliver air pressure at very low to intermediate volume. This produces both a tactile sensory massage at the lowest setting of air pressure as well as a light tissue massage at the highest setting of air pressure throughout the bath well. Massage is an ancient form of homeopathic therapy that is known to produce many positive healing effects within the body. Elliot Greene, M.A., NCTMB, the National President of the American Therapy Association from , described the basic affect of massage in an article he wrote entitled; Massage Therapy for Health and Fitness, as follows: Massage is known to increase the circulation of blood and flow of lymph. The direct mechanical effect of rhythmically applied manual pressure and movement used in massage can dramatically increase the rate of blood flow. This bath has an elongated oval well with a center drain. The bottom of the bath well has two distinct elevations to accentuate the functionality of the different backrests at each end. At one end is a generously inclined backrest and lumbar support pocket with dual arm rests and a raised rim that cradles your head for long periods of relaxing. This end has a heated head and neck rest when a system bath. The base is three inches deeper at this end allowing the bather to submerge their upper torso deep into the water while at the same time elevating their feet into a remarkably comfortable reclining position. At the other end the back rest is designed for a sitting position and the base is raised at this end so that the upper torso is higher relative to the upper rim allowing the bather to rest their elbows on the rim while they read. It has an elongated oval well with an end drain. The bottom of the bath well provides a full 47 inches of flat surface to stretch into. This is complimented by a wide back rest that inclines at a slope of 36º up to the expansive head and neck rest. Recline back into a lounging position and let the heated head and neck rest soothe your muscles and the backrest cradle you as you rest your arms on two side arm rests, which slope gradually up toward the rim where they form the beginning of an elegant rim design. The Immersion is a combination of the best elements from many of our baths. It is an elliptical shape end drain bath with an extraordinarily comfortable bath well for a single bather. As its name implies, a bather can immerse in water as deep as 16. This is accomplished by using a horizontal overflow oriented just below the rim edge and within the bath well. The actual floor to rim height is only 21, so this deep bath, when placed in a setting, is no higher than a standard drop in bath. It is a center drain bath. Mediterranean (72 L x 42 W x 26 1 /8 H) The Mediterranean is a free standing island bath built with one or two bathers in mind. The bath rim design is similar to the frame one might find on a classical portrait painting. This design is carried from the corners of the rim down through the outer skirt and to the floor skirt. The outer skirt has two elliptical shaped access panels built-in and the lower skirt can be removed at any time making installation and service easy. The bath well is a center drain and has a heated head and neck rest when a system bath. On the left are images of the two different types of feet that we offer. The foot on left is used with the Europa, Renaissance and Napoleon models. The foot on the right is used with the Caesar, Cleopatra and Virginia models. The feet can be ordered in white, chrome, brushed nickel, oil rubbed bronze and 18K gold finishes. Feet are standard equipment that are shipped with the bath. Waste and Overflow Options All of our clawfoot baths with the exception of the Virginia are finished by first laminating the acrylic exterior with a thick coating of a fiber, resin and polyester (FRP) mix, which is then painted with a gelcoat surface called Orange Peel. This process produces an exterior surface that mimics the rough hewn surface of the original cast iron baths they replace. Please examine carefully the image to the right to be certain you would enjoy the appearance of the exterior. People either love it or really dislike it. There is no middle ground and we do not accept returns of these baths for aesthetic reasons. We offer a waste and overflow that is specifically designed for our clawfoot baths. It is a tip-toe mechanism and available in chrome, brushed nickel and polished brass. *Note: Our Virginia and Julius baths are available as an aquamasseur system bath. There are options associated with standard injector caps and mini injector caps shown on page 25. Many of our baths are available with an optional water fall fill spout. This option provides an elegant way to get water into your bath quickly. The spout itself is created by placing an additional mold shape onto the mold before vacuum forming the bath. When this option is selected the water fall fill spout is literally a part of the molded bath. Below you will find the various shapes that are associated with each water fall fill spout by model. Research shows a direct correlation between light intensity, hue and color to human physiology and psychology. Basically, light therapy can be used to improve physical and mental health. We are not experts in this field and do not pretend that we are. We do however accept the body of evidence in support of light as therapy and encourage its use by offering a chromo therapy lighting option that allows our bathers to compliment the positive health therapy of our massaging bath systems. Our lighting option allows you to add one or two light fixtures that operate concurrently. The operation is simple so that you can easily choose between rainbow effects of gradually changing colors or choose a specific fixed color. We encourage you to research light and learn about the physiological and psychological effects different colors can have on you so that you can choose fixed colors with specific health intent. To operate the chromo therapy light simply press the switch once and the light turns on in Rainbow Mode where it will flow through the hues of red, pink, violet, purple, orange, yellow, white, green, aqua, olive green, blue, dark blue and light blue. Press a second time to freeze at a specific color hue. To obtain the color desired simply wait for your preferred color as the light cycles through rainbow mode and press the switch for the second time while your color is shown and the color will freeze on your selection. Press a third time and you will turn the light off. Please note that the light is programmed to automatically turn itself off after one hour. This feature assures the longevity of the light in case you have accidentally left it on following your bath or in case someone has accidentally turned it on while in the bathroom. Bath Well Standard Colors Switch is available with a white or biscuit inner surface and a white, biscuit, chrome, brass, or brushed nickel trim ring. We offer three standard colors for our baths; white, biscuit and bone. Other colors may be available and require factory consultation for availability. Colors other than standard color will result in an additional charge. A bath skirt is a molded acrylic panel that can provide a decorative finish to the front or exposed side of the bath. In the absence of a skirt you will need to frame in the front side and finish it with some other material. A skirt can reduce cost associated with installation. Some of our skirts must be factory installed, others must be field installed and three baths come with integral skirts that are part of the bath mold. Pictured are the available skirts and a list of which baths they are available for. You can also crossreference the availability on the options grid in the back of this brochure. Many of our baths will allow for one or two grab bars and they may prove very useful after a hydro massage therapy bath has so fully relaxed you that just pulling yourself out of the bath may prove a challenge. This adds a practical feature that you can customize to suit your color scheme. The grab bar options are; white, biscuit, bone, clear with chrome, gold and brushed nickel inserts. Trim Ring Color Keypad Color Turn Style Bath Drain Keypad Control Color Options Before you finalize your warm air hydro massage therapy system bath order, be certain to color coordinate the control keypad color and trim ring. You must have control of the massage and we believe you would want control of the color it comes in as well. Options are: white or biscuit graphic pad with your choice of a white, biscuit, chrome, brass or brushed nickel outer ring. The color of the drain and the overflow matter. We offer a variety of finishes to our turn style drain and overflow to make certain that you can coordinate all of the trim elements of the bath with the other fixture finishes in your bath room. The choices are; white, biscuit, bone, brass, chrome or brushed nickel. Note: See Clawfoot Bath Options on Page 20 for waste and overflow options for Clawfoot Baths. Mediterranean and Acryzen RI come with a push-pull factory installed waste and overflow. The Immersion comes with a specially designed push-pull waste and overflow as the overflow is unique to this bath. Injector Color Choices Sensi Touch Light Switch Trim Options Clear Acrylic Grab Bar White Acrylic Grab Bar If you are choosing an aqua masseur or ultimate system bath then you have more custom design decisions to make. The standard injector comes with a cap about the size of a quarter and is available in white, biscuit or bone to match the bath. For an additional charge you may choose chrome, gold (24k) or brushed nickel standard injector caps. You may also choose optional mini-injectors that are about the size of a dime. These have a center cap and outer trim ring that are available in eighteen different finish combinations. These combinations allow you to match the injector finishes with other bathroom fittings. Strength and Durability - All of our baths are built using continuous cast acrylic. Acrylic is an amazing product that will remain beautiful for many decades with little care. After we vacuum form the acrylic sheet into the bath shape, we then apply a first coat of FRP to the backside of the formed shape. This provides rigidity and makes the shape strong. We don't stop here though as our system baths are built to last the minimum thirty years of our warranty and our technology requires further lamination in order to protect the channel and base support structure. Channel Engineering - Our health masseur channel engineering is unique in our industry. We hand fabricate a glass smooth channel for every bath shape we make so that the individual bath channel follows the contour of the bath well. Before we secure this channel to the bath we first place tightly woven matting over the outer bottom edges of the bath well and pour a specially formulated resin onto it and roll it glass smooth. This process creates a glass smooth inner surface of the channel so that there is no hairy FRP surface for skin exfoliate, hair or other biodegradable matter to cling to as it rinses through and out of the channel. It also changes the density of the inner surface of the channel so that water can not permeate into it. After we have done this we place the channel onto the glass smooth edges of the bath shape at the lowest point of the bath well and again use a tightly woven matting to cover the outside of the channel and all edges then pour our specially formulated resin over it to completely secure the entire channel. Finally, we laminate the entire exterior again with FRP to fully encapsulate all of the channel engineering and protect it against the bumps and battering that it may have to endure during transit and installation. Injector Engineering - Our aqua masseur or air injector system engineering is also unique in our industry. It is unique in large part because here again we choose to take the added steps to ensure an exceptionally engineered system that does cost more money to create but delivers a better massage. Our story begins with the way we mount our injector housings, which is different than any one else. We don't just place them on the back of the bath and screw in the injector bodies to hold them in place or glue them permanently on to the back side of the bath like others do. We sand down the FRP backing first to create a polished surface that will accept a bead of silicone and then a rubber gasket between the back of the bath and the injector housing. This provides two forms of water seal so that our bathers can be assured that they will not have to worry about leaks. This takes time but again we build our baths to stand the test of time and use. protection against leaks. The injector body is placed within this core and held in place with a gasket. This has an advantage in that our injectors can easily be replaced from the inside of the bath well if they ever need to be. Many of our competitors use methods that prevent this. Base Engineering - Foundations are essential to buildings and bases are essential to baths. After we have laminated a shape for strength, added a channel and laminated the entire exterior again to protect the channel engineering we then laminate some more. We laminate a Medium Density Fiberboard surface (MDF) to the base of the bath to provide rigid strength to the shape at the base where the majority of the bathers' weight will be. Second, we laminate a powder coated steel frame to the MDF surface. This rigid steel frame is supported by four to six cadmium steel legs dependent upon the shape of the bath that are double tapped through the steel frame and rest on the sub-flooring. Our engineering results in a bath that can support up to 1,984 pounds or 900 kilograms of weight without any stress, is exceptionally easy to install and can stand on its own four or six feet for as long as steel lasts. Quality Packaging - When your bath arrives you will see that our attention to quality and detail is evident in the extraordinary care we take in packaging our product for transit. We want to make certain that your bath arrives in magnificent condition just as you expected. Baths Built for Life - After we are through with all of our laminating and engineering our bath may well be the strongest fixture in your house. We assume that our bathers want their bath to look and function thirty years from now just as it looks and functions today. Our hand laminated glass smooth channel surrounds the entire lower edge of the bath. This permits us to generate extraordinary air volume creating dynamic water convection within the bath itself and a highly vigorous massage. Peace of Mind You will also see that our smooth channel ends literally surrounding the drain cavity. We call this True Drain [patent pending]. All baths slope toward the drain and our channel follows that slope. After a bath the water in our channel runs along the glass smooth interior surface to the lowest air portal at the drain itself. We simply have the best drying channel in the industry. Rest Your Arms Heat for Neck Muscles Almost all of our baths have one heated head and neck rest when a system bath. Many have dual heated head and neck rests when an ultimate system. Heat is important to massage as it helps muscle to more fully relax. Head and neck muscles tend to be very tense and restrict blood flow to the brain. Our heated head and neck rest encourages a rapid relaxation of this muscle grouping and increases blood flow increasing the therapeutic value of our system bath. Lower Back Support This area is what we refer to as our lumbar support pocket. You will note a slight increase in the slope of the back rest at the base of the bath. The purpose of this is to create a pocket area in between the bath well and the lower lumbar region of the spine. You will see a series of air portals along the lower edge of the bath well for our channel technology (health masseur) and four injectors mounted along the lumbar support pocket for our injection technology (aqua masseur). This pocket is not only comfortable when just soaking it is also very active when bathing with one or both systems activated and delivers a significant lower lumbar and back massage. Massaging Technology We have found that arm rests are an important feature in a bath. When well designed and positioned they add great comfort. We have thirty nine baths with arm rest support. Our objective is first to make certain the arm rest is placed within the bath well so that it is naturally comfortable and second to match the aesthetic design of the arm rest to the overall appearance of the bath itself. Massage the Central Nerve System In addition to strategically placing our injectors (aqua masseur system) in the lumbar support pocket, we also take great care in the placement of the base injectors. Note that the injectors are not placed where people sit. We recognize that some people would find them uncomfortable but more importantly we know that if someone is sitting on them they can not provide any massage. We place them so that the bubbles they generate trace the meridians of the central nervous system along the legs, streaming up the back and flooding outstretched arms. We build our system baths to massage. Our channel system generates tremendous water convection and it is this turbulent water that provides a strong musculoskeletal massage. Our injection technology generates a constant stream of air bubbles at very low volume to high volume throughout the bath well. It is the ability of this technology to stimulate the meridians of the central nervous system by flooding the entire body surface in bubbles that provides an intense and thorough tactile massage. We never stop examining our own technology and every available technology in our pursuit of making the perfect massaging bath. Beginning in 1972 with the advent of our unique channel technology we have always provided the best drying channel in the industry. Hand crafted of smooth fiberglass and shaped to follow the slope of each bath to where the drain is located, our channel has always given gravity the first opportunity to drain residual water and dry the channel interior. Mother nature does her work and the auto purge cycle of the blower motor ensures a thorough evacuation of all residual moisture completely drying the channel after every bath. Acrylic is an amazing product that will remain beautiful for many decades with little care. If you should accidentally scratch or mar the surface, you would find it remarkably easy to remove these blemishes. This is because the color in continuous cast acrylic is the same all the way through the thickness of the material. As a result, surface abrasions can be polished out easily to fully restore the original luster without resulting in a permanent discoloration. Cleaning the Bath - You should clean your bath with a mild dishwashing liquid such as Dawn or Ivory dishwashing liquid. Dilute the dishwashing liquid into some warm water and just wipe down the acrylic surface with a clean soft cloth then rinse. Do this once a week to remove soapy residue that builds up on the surface and your bath will sparkle for decades. Please use nonabrasive products to avoid scratching the surface. Do not use any cleaning products containing abrasives or solvents, a stainless steel pad, acetone, dry cleaning liquid, window cleaner or products containing ammonia. Products like Bon-Ami, Comet, Ajax or Lysol are not recommended. Harsh chemicals should never be used on acrylic surfaces. You can further add to the cleanliness of the channel by programming the twenty four hour auto purge cycle on the control pad so that the channel is dried every day. Despite our technological superiority, body oils and sediments, aromatic oils and elixirs, bath salts, algae treatments and other foreign matter will flood the channel when the air system is off and they can build up in the channel just like they can build up on the acrylic surface of the bath itself. The channel needs to be cleaned periodically in order to clean these residues out. Routine Cleaning - With routine cleaning of the channel you will eliminate residue build-up. To effectively clean the health channel simply fill the bath with hot water at least 4 inches above the highest air portal (jet). Add 3 to 5 teaspoons of a liquid dishwasher detergent to the hot water like Cascade. Run the health system blower motor on for 2 minutes then off for 2 minutes at a time to allow the hot cleaning solution to completely flood the channel during the off cycles and flush during the on cycle. Repeat this on/off cycle for 6 more cycles. You will likely find no dirty water coming out after the first cycle but please don't stop as soapy residue needs to emulsify and the second or third cycle may produce a discharge of emulsified soap. Empty the bath completely, refill with fresh water and repeat the on/off cycle 2 times to thoroughly rinse the channel. Take a soft cloth with warm water and rinse the bath well. You may want to dry the bath well but basically you are done.
