2 ADA What is the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)? THE ADA STANDARD WAS DEVELOPED TO ENSURE that the built environment was accessible to people with disabilities. The ADA Standards Water Closet Diagram establish the necessary design requirements for the construction and alteration of facilities subject to the law. These enforceable standards apply to places of public accommodation, commercial facilities, and state and local government facilities. Speakman Company takes care to follow these guidelines and designs our products to comply with them. The ADA Standards apply nationwide, in addition to any applicable state or local codes, where facilities are newly built or altered...the Access Board s 2004 ADA Accessibility Guidelines, upon which the current ADA Standards are based, have been harmonized to a significant extent with industry standards and model building codes... Considering this, our products comply with both the ADAAG TOWEL RACK Robe Hook 42 min. and ICC/ANSI A117.1 requirements. The United States Access Board is responsible for the development and maintenance of the guidelines. These guidelines, are known as ADA Accessibility Guidelines or ADAAG for short. Chapter 6 of the Standard is for TOILET Plumbing Elements & Facilities. Source: BATHROOM sites/about-the-ada-standards FIG ADA PRODUCT TRAINING PG. 2 Specs are for reference only.
