It will mark the Tigers last away/away Friday and Sunday road trip in SEC play this year. Mizzou leads the all-time series against Auburn, 8-1. After dropping its first all-time meeting against Auburn in 1996, the Tigers from Columbia, Mo., have reeled off eight straight victories. Mizzou possesses a 3-1 all-time record in matches played in Auburn, Ala. The Tigers from Mid-Missouri claimed the series last meeting, a 3-1 win in Columbia, Mo. (Nov. 18, 2016). Mizzou leads the all-time series against, 6-3. The Tigers have won two consecutive matches in the all-time series, including a thrilling 3-2 comeback triumph in Tuscaloosa, Ala., last year (Oct. 16, 2016). Mizzou owns a 4-1 record in all-time matches played in Tuscaloosa. In the teams nine all-time matches played, all matches have gone at least four sets and a whopping five of those have gone to a decisive fifth set (including four consecutive meetings). Following a 3-1 loss in its SEC opener last Wednesday (Sept. 20) to #10 Kentucky, Mizzou fought back well Sunday (Sept. 24) afternoon in College Station, Texas, with a 3-1 victory over Texas A&M. The Tigers win Sunday ended the Aggies five-match winning streak in the all-time series. Mizzou also earned its first triumph in College Station since A slew of Tigers recorded impressive offensive numbers at Texas A&M, highlighted by Dariana Hollingsworth s team-leading 16 points on 8 kills, career-high 5 aces, 6 total blocks and 9 digs. Melanie Crow and Leketor Member-Meneh tied for the team lead with 11 kills apiece. Member-Meneh was outstanding off the bench, posting double-digit kills on.348 hitting. Kira Larson had a typical strong match against the Aggies, tallying 8 kills on.389 hitting. 3 MIZZOU EXERCISES DEMONS IN COLLEGE STATION, EARNS FIRST 2017 SEC WIN The Tigers recorded their first Southeastern Conference victory of the 2017 campaign Sunday (Sept. 24), defeating Texas A&M, 3-1. Mizzou s win inside Reed Arena ended the Aggies five-match winning streak in the all-time series. The Tigers also earned their first triumph in College Station, Texas, since A slew of Tigers had strong offensive matches against Texas A&M, highlighted by Dariana Hollingsworth s 8 kills, career-high 5 aces, 9 digs and 6 total blocks. Alyssa Munlyn (10+ kills and 10+ blocks), Leketor Member-Meneh (11 kills on.348 hitting) and Kira Larson (8 kills on.389 hitting) rounded out the impressive individual performances for Mizzou. MIZZOU NOTABLES MUNLYN CONTINUES TO BE BLOCKING FORCE FOR MIZZOU Junior Alyssa Munlyn s resume through her opening two seasons at Mizzou was simply remarkable. Back to back AVCA All-American, AVCA All-Southeast Region and All-SEC honors put the Tiger middle blocker on the conference and national map. Munlyn ranks first (153) and second (149) in all-time single-season total blocks, while also ranking first (124) and third (117) in singleseason block assists. In Munlyn s 2017 junior campaign, she has once again served as a huge defensive weapon for the Tigers. Through 15 matches played, Munlyn has posted 13 solo blocks, 79 block assists and 92 total blocks (1.53 per set). Her 92 total blocks currently ranks first in the NCAA and SEC. Additionally, Munlyn s 1.53 blocks per set ranks second in the SEC and 16th in the NCAA. Within the individual career Mizzou records, she currently ranks first in blocks per set (1.27), fifth in solo blocks (74) and total blocks (394) and seventh in block assists (320). TIGERS CLAIM TOP HONORS AT WOLF PACK TOURNAMENT Mizzou ended its 2017 non-conference slate in style from Sept in Reno, Nev., going a perfect 3-0 at the Wolf Pack Tournament. Following a sweep over Pepperdine in their tournament opener, the Tigers had to battle in their final two matches, but came away with thrilling five-set wins over Nevada and Sacramento State. Blocking was the name of the game again for Mizzou, as it recorded 50 total blocks (3.85 per set) over its three-match weekend. The Tigers top performance occurred vs. Nevada (Sept. 15), as their 23.0 team total blocks ranked T-4th-most in a single match in Mizzou history. MEMBER-MENEH SHINES IN TIGERS DEBUT AT CULVER S GOVERNORS CHALLENGE It took only one match for freshman Leketor Member-Meneh to make Southeastern Conference and NCAA headlines, as she exploded for 22 kills against Marshall in her firstever collegiate match. Overall in Clarksville, Tenn., Member-Meneh led the team in kills (70), kills per set (3.89) and points (75.5). Additionally, she paced the Tigers in single-match kills in all four matches. In her remarkable debut vs. Marshall (22 kills/11 digs), Member-Meneh tallied the first of two double-doubles. DID YOU KNOW? Junior MB Alyssa Munlyn currently leads the NCAA and SEC with 92 total blocks. The next closest SEC individual total block output this year is 61, marking an incredible +31 advantage on the second-place ranking. Recently at Texas A&M (Sept. 24), Munlyn tallied 10 total blocks, marking her third double-digit block output this year. She also added 10 kills in College Station to secure a rare 10+ kill, 10+ block doubledouble. The 10 blocks marked the most by an individual in an SEC only match this year. Munlyn owns four of the Top-10 individual single-match total block outputs by an SEC player this year. Additionally, she owns three 10-plus total block matches this season, leading the SEC. The next closest SEC individual has only one. Munlyn s 13 total blocks at BYU (Sept. 1) ranks most by an SEC individual overall this year. 4 MIZZOU NOTABLES A CLOSER LOOK INSIDE MIZZOU S SENSATIONAL BLOCKING EFFORTS Arguably the Tigers top team strength this season is their fantastic blocking efforts. Overall this year, Mizzou s total team blocks ranks first in the SEC and third in the NCAA. The Tigers also pace the SEC in team block assists (251) and solo blocks (51). Mizzou s 2.94 team blocks per set also ranks favorably, currently sitting third in the SEC and 13th in the NCAA. Overall this season, Mizzou has produced double-digit total blocks in 10 of 15 matches, including a streak of five consecutive matches. The Tigers top output came at Nevada (Sept. 15) when they tallied an incredible 23.0 total team blocks. That single-match total ranks tops by an SEC team this season. The next closest team performance was 19 by Tennessee (Sept. 16). Mizzou s 23.0 blocks against the Wolf Pack cracked the program record book, as the total ranks T-4th in a single match in Tiger history. The Tigers also own the T-3rd (16.5 vs. Sacramento State - Sept. 1) and T-5th (16.0 at BYU - Sept. 1) highest single match block output in the SEC this year. Individually, Alyssa Munlyn s 92 total blocks ranks first in the SEC and NCAA, while Kayla Caffey s 53 total blocks ranks seventh in the SEC. MIZZOU AMONG THE NATION S BEST SINCE 2000 Since Wayne and Susan Kreklow took over at Mizzou in 2000, the Tigers have won 375 matches (.674 winning percentage). Over that 18-season span, Mizzou has averaged over 21 wins a year, been to the NCAA Tournament 13 times and produced 19 AVCA All-Americans. MIZZOU (375) TIGERS ALL-AMERICANS UNDER THE KREKLOWS Since 2000 and the beginning of the Kreklows tenure at Mizzou, the Tigers have tallied an impressive 19 total AVCA All-American accolades. In fact, Mizzou has garnered at least one All-American in each of the past seven years (2010-present). Last year (2016), redshirt senior Melanie Crow and junior Alyssa Munlyn were each tabbed AVCA All-Americans. Crow became only the 12th individual in Mizzou Volleyball history to claim All-America honors (AVCA Third-Team). Munlyn became the program s fifth all-time multiple All-American recipient, as she also garnered AVCA All-America Honorable Mention accolades in her outstanding 2015 freshman campaign. From , the Tigers racked up six All- American honors courtesy of four individuals. That number has risen exponentially since the conclusion of the 2010 season, as Mizzou has tallied 13 All-America awards from eight individuals. 5 MIZZOU NOTABLES HOME SWEET HEARNES... Matchdays at the Hearnes Center, home of Mizzou Volleyball, have an excitement level that is unmatched in the country. Since 2000 and the arrival of the Kreklows, the Tigers faithful have continued to come through the turnstiles in incredible fashion. For the past 15 seasons, Mizzou has finished in the Top-25 national attendance rankings. In fact, the Tigers have 13 Top-10 national attendance numbers and five Top-10 totals since The program s most highly attended season came in 2013, as the team went 34-0 and claimed Mizzou s first ever SEC championship. On Nov. 22, the SEC title clinching match - the Tigers took home the crown in front of a school-record 7,879 fans, the first of two 7,000- plus crowds that magical season. Mizzou fans have particuarly traveled to Hearnes in droves the past four years, including three Top-10 average national attendance finishes. In fact, in each of the past two seasons ( ) over 30,000 loud and passionate Tigers fans have entered Hearnes. Entering the 2015 campaign, Mizzou had eclipsed 30,000 total fans in a season only twice (2005, 13). The high attendance numbers and extroadinary energy at Hearnes has resulted in outstanding success for the Tigers. In 2016, Mizzou possessed a 12-2 record at home, including a thrilling 12-match winning streak to wrap up its season. Since 2009, the Tigers have recorded 10-plus wins at home seven times ( , 15-16). MIZZOU REACHES SWEET 16 FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2010 On Dec. 1, 2016, Mizzou began its run in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. In their first round matchup, the Tigers convincingly swept Northern Illinois in straight sets. The following night at the Hearnes Center (Dec. 2), Mizzou carried its momentum from the first round matchup and advanced to the Sweet 16 with a 3-1 victory over Purdue. The triumph in front of 2,704 black and gold Tigers fans marked Mizzou s first all-time win over the Boilermakers. The triumph over Purdue clinched Mizzou s first trip to the Sweet 16 (NCAA Volleyball Tournament Regionals) since Melanie Crow delivered a postseason performance for the ages against Purdue, recording 25 kills on.426 hitting. Her 25 kills marked a new career high, while establishing her sixth 20-plus kill match of the season. Her 25 kills and 27.5 points versus the Boilermakers ranked third-most in all-time Tigers NCAA Tournament action. MIZZOU CROWNED 2016 SEC CHAMPIONS, EARN SECOND TITLE IN PAST FOUR YEARS Mizzou defeated Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 26, inside the Hearnes Center, 3-0, clinching a share of the 2016 Southeastern Conference championship. The Tigers earned the SEC s automatic qualifying bid for the 2016 NCAA Tournament, as they defeated fellow 2016 SEC co-champ,, 3-2 on Nov. 20 in Columbia, Mo. Mizzou s superb 2016 regular season and conference title marked its second SEC championship in the past four seasons, as the 2013 Tigers squad claimed the first conference crown. To this day, Mizzou s 2016 and 2013 SEC Volleyball championships stand as Mizzou Athletics lone team SEC titles since joining the conference in TIGERS CLEAN UP IN 2016 SEC POSTSEASON AWARDS The SEC announced its annual volleyball awards on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, with Mizzou garnering four total accolades. Head Coach Wayne Kreklow was voted 2016 SEC Coach of the Year, while Melanie Crow, Carly Kan and Alyssa Munlyn were named to the 2016 All-SEC Team. The recognition marked Kreklow s second career SEC Coach of the Year honor. He first won the award in 2013, as that year s Mizzou squad went 35-1 and claimed the program s first ever SEC championship. The 2016 Tigers accumulated the sixth 20- plus win season under the Kreklow s tenure in Columbia, Mo. Additionally, Mizzou earned its eighth trip to the NCAA Tournament under Kreklow (2005-present). For the second consecutive season ( ), Mizzou earned three All-SEC recognitions. Since joining the SEC in 2012, Mizzou has claimed 13 total All-SEC awards.
