The Panthers will open the weekend against the Bearcats on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m., before facing the Cardinals for a 2 p.m. contest on Sunday, Nov. 4. Pitt (14-11, 7-4 Big East) split matches against Big East opponents Marquette and Syracuse last weekend, as it recorded a 3-2 comeback win over the Golden Eagles. Sophomore Meagan Dooley (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) recorded a career-high 23 kills in the match, while classmate Michelle Rossi (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) posted a career-high with 32 digs. Cincinnati (15-9, 6-4 Big East) enters the weekend off a sweep over Rutgers and is led by Jessie Nevitt with a team-high 322 kills and 177 total blocks. No. 21 Louisville (16-4, 10-0 Big East) also shutout the Scarlet Knights this past weekend, where senior Svetlana Dukule led with 13 kills in the contest. In the all-time series, Pitt holds a 7-3 lead over Cincinnati, but trail 4-6 against Louisville. HEADED TO THE TOP Already the all-time leader in career attempts with 4,706 to date, senior Diana Andreyko moved into second place on the all-time career kills list, passing Wendy Hatlestad s ( ) 1,681 kills on the list. Boasting 1,755 as she enters the weekend, Andreyo needs just 61 kills to surpass the 1993 record of 1,815. MOVING UP IN THE BOOKS Junior Jessica Moses moved is five block assists shy of tying the fourth-best mark on Pitt s all-time career block assists list. She is now fifth with 280 to date. INTENSE DEFENSE Pitt has shutout seven of its opponents this season, including three conference teams. In addition, the Panthers have held teams to a.204 hitting percentage. TOUGH STUFF Pitt has out-blocked its opponents, Opponents have only managed to solo block 41 attacks on the year, while the Panthers boast 93 solo blocks. CAREER NIGHT Sophomores Michelle Rossi and Meagan Dooley both posted career stats in the Marquette match. Rossi tallied a match-high 32 digs in the contest, which ranks as the league s best defensive stand of the season. Dooley, on the otherhand, totaled 23 kills in the same match. Dooley also chipped in a.356 hitting percentage and three blocks. HOME COURT ADVANTAGE Pitt tallied a 9-0 win streak at Fitzgerald Field House this season, which was the best since 1987 when the Panthers went 13-0 at home. During the run Pitt defeated Geroge Mason (3-1), UAB (3-1), Buffalo (3-0), Notre Dame (3-1), DePaul (3-0), Seton Hall (3-0), Villanova (3-2), Robert Morris, 3-1 and Marquette (3-2). MILESTONE MOMENT Head Coach Chris Beerman recorded his 250th career win in the wins over Seton Hall and Villanova last weeknd. That victory was also his 150th win with the Panthers, in the short eight years he has been at Pitt. Historically, Pitt ranks 12th with 842 program wins. INDIVIDUAL LEADERS Sophomore Michelle Rossi is first in the league with 5.07 digs per game overall. Additionally, Moses is second in hitting percentage with a.408 average. ABOVE ALL OTHERS Kelly Campbell leads the conference in individual match highs, as she recorded 30 kills in the four-game Notre Dame contest. That was the most kills in a match since 2004 when Gini Ullery achieved that mark. In addition Diana Andreyko and Campbell provide a one-two punch, as they are the top-two on the four-game total attempts list with 67 and 66 against ND. As a team, Pitt is first in match highs in the league with 84 kills and 78 assists against the Fighting Irish. SOMETHING NEW Junior Jessica Moses was the first Panther to record double digit blocks this season, as she posted her first double-double of the season against Georgetown with 11 kills and 10 blocks. CLUTCH COMEBACKS In their first Big East matchup of the season, Pitt earned a 3-1 victory of rival Notre Dame. The Panthers rallied comebacks in all three of their winning games, including the game four win. That win was the fourth victory in five matches for the Panthers.

3 PITT S DIANA ANDREYKO NAMED TO BIG EAST HONOR ROLL (OCT. 8) PROVIDENCE, R.I. Senior Diana Andreyko of Pitt s women s volleyball team was named to the Big East Conference s weekly honor roll, as announced by the league, after leading the Panthers in conference matches to remain unbeaten at home this season. Andreyko (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) led the team with a double-double in its shutout victory over Seton Hall (3-0) with 15 kills and 11 digs. In that match she also recorded a season-high.429 hitting percentage. Andreyko was one of only two athletes to post double figure kills in that Pitt-Seton Hall matchup, as teammate Meagan Dooley (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) chipped in 13 kills against the Pirates. The next day, Pitt had to comeback from a 2-1 deficit in the Villanova match, where Andreyko was instrumental with a season-high 22 kills. In game four, she led the charge against the Wildcats with a game-high seven kills, including three back-to-back-to-back kills that energized the team. Andreyko also recorded three blocks in the match. Andreyko has 1,655 career kills to date, which is 27 kills shy of second place on the all-time career kills list. 4 PANTHERS VOLLEYBALL NEWS AND NOTES SEEING DOUBLE Five members of the Panthers squad have earned double-doubles this season. First junior Stephanie Ross recorded one in the season opener against Georgia Tech with 12 kills and 10 digs. Since then both senior Diana Andreyko and junior Kelly Campbell have posted multiple double-doubles amongst themselves. The next double-double contributor was Nicole Taurence who totaled 35 assists and 11 digs in the George Mason match, while junior Jessica Moses added her name with 11 kills and 10 blocks against Georgetown. RISING TO THE CHALLENGE Senior Diana Andreyko was named Big East Volleyball Player of the Week on Sept. 10 after she led the Panthers to their Pitt Invitational Title. During a 4-0 week, Andreyko averaged a.309 hitting percentage and boasting 70 kills. She also recorded two double-doubles against Duquesne (15k, 11d) and George Mason (20k, 11d). RISING TO THE CHALLENGE PART TWO Pitt junior Kelly Campbell was named Big East Volleyball Player of the Week after an impressive performance on Sept. 24 following the Panther s 2-0 conference opener. Campbell led the Panthers with 42 kills for a 6.0 kills per game average and tallied a.355 hitting percentage. She also boasted a career- and matchhigh 30 kills for a.348 hitting clip and a Big East best for a four-game match. During an intense game four, she recorded 11 kills in the win. ROLL CALL Sophomore Meagan Dooley was named to the Big East Conference s weekly honor roll on Aug. 28., after competing in the squad s first weekend of competition. Dooley led the team with 37 kills (tied), a.408 hitting percentage and nine blocks during the Arkansas Clarion Inn Invitational. Against Pepperdine, she recorded 13 kills and posted a.500 hitting clip. THE ONE THAT COUNTED The Panthers reclaimed their Pitt Invitational title this season. In the first tournament of the season, Campbell was selected to the All-Clarion Inn Invitational team, while Moses was an All-Miami Best Wester Invitational member. ALL-TOURNAMENT TIME PART TWO During the Pitt Invitational, senior Diana Andreyko was deemed the MVP, while juniors Kelly Campbell and Jessica Moses were added to the all-invitational team. Pitt won the tournament and had the most representatives on the allinvitational team. PITT ON T.V. Pitt s thrilling Sept. 22 contest against Notre Dame was selected as an AVCA Match of the Week and was televised on a tape delayed basis on Monday, Sept. 24,, as one out of a 25-match slate. The broadcast crew included Jason Knapp handling the play-by-play duties, while Standford standout Canyon Cemon. ON TOP OF THE GAME Pitt was honored as one of the recipients of the GamePlan/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award presented by the AVCA for their achievements in the classroom during the school year. The award was presented to 303 high schools and colleges across the nation, including 55 NCAA Division I schools. Teams are required to excel in the classroom and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale and a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year. The volleyball team was also honored with Pitt s Athletic Academic Trophy for boasting the highest team GPA of
