4 Tournament Procedures

5 Inclement Weather If changes are made due to inclement weather, your first source of current information is the TOC section of our website. In addition, we will share changes via text message, and on our social media sites. Our inclement weather hotline will also be active during TOC. Decisions will be made based on conditions at each complex. This may result in some age group formats being different than others. Instagram: ntxsoccer_ Hotline:

6 Game Cards Game Cards will be provided at the field by the referees. Both teams must review the game cards after each game to insure correct score and card reporting. The winning team must turn in the game card at the headquarters tent immediately after the conclusion of the game. In the event of a tie the Home team will turn in the game card.

7 Rosters Only the players on your official roster may participate in TOC. Roster Checks will be conducted by tournament staff to insure compliance.

8 Playing Rules Uniforms Each player must have a number on his jersey. Goalkeepers are not required to have a number on the jersey but must be identified by number on the roster. In the event of a color conflict, the home team must change uniforms or use pennies. Roster Checks will be conducted by tournament staff to insure compliance.

9 Playing Rules Team Benches Both teams will occupy benches on the same side of the field; all spectators will be on the opposite side of the field. Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their team and spectators.

Overtime in semi-final and final games will be two 10-minute overtime periods and kicks if needed.

11 Playing Rules Misconduct Players issued a red card are required to sit out their next game. When a player is sent off they may remain with the team under the direct control of the coach. If the player continues to be disruptive then he must leave the complex. Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their team and spectators.

12 Playing Rules Protests The only protests allowed are for ineligible players and misapplications of the Laws of the Game that the referee admits. All protests must have a material impact on the outcome of the game and be reported in writing. The protest must be submitted in writing with a $ protest fee payable only by cash, money order, or cashier s check. Referee decisions are final and may not be protested.

13 Playing Rules 9 & Under and 10 & Under 9U and 10U play 7v7 with a goalkeeper. No punting or drop kicks allowed by the goalkeeper. All opposing players must retreat behind the build out line for goal kicks and goalkeeper possession. Offside only occurs from the build out line to the goal line. No heading allowed.

14 Playing Rules 11 & Under and 12 & Under 11U and 12U play 9v9 with a goalkeeper. No heading allowed.

15 ALL players must play 50% of the game. Playing Rules Playing Time Any complaints of violation will be reviewed. Tournament officials will monitor playing time throughout TOC. A team will forfeit the game if tournament officials witness a violation of playing time rules.

16 Medical Certified Athletic Trainers will be available at all complexes. CONCUSSION PROTOCOL: As mandated by U.S. Soccer and North Texas Soccer, any player suspected of a head injury will be removed from play and must be evaluated by a health care professional (Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy, or Certified Athletic Trainer). The player cannot return to play until cleared by a health care professional. Should a referee suspect a head injury he will notify the coach of the situation and the coach must insure that the player is cleared before returning to the field.

17 Advancement After the conclusion of all games within a age group, the teams advancing will be determined and posted in the TOC Section of our website. If all tie breakers are used, then kicks to determine who advances will be used. If this appears possible please remain at the complex at the headquarters tent so we can perform the kicks on Saturday. Winners are based on the most points. Wildcards are based on the most points from any brackets. We will average points when a bracket has more (or less) than an equal number of teams.

18 Advancement If a team withdraws prior to the start of the team s first scheduled game, then the game is counted as a no game and bracket averaging will be used. If a team fails to appear for a scheduled game after playing one or more games, then the score is counted in the points as a 3-0 score which results in max points being awarded. Each team must review the TOC Section of our website to determine if the team has advanced.

19 Awards First and second place teams will receive trophies. Athletes on first and second place teams will receive medals. After the championship game, both teams shall report to the headquarters tent for an awards ceremony. Athletes on third and fourth place teams will receive medals. After completion of a semi-final game, the team that did not win shall report to the headquarters tent to receive medals.
