4 MISSION STATEMENT The Mission of the program is for trained mentors to advise our youth referees in ways they can enhance their game management skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the game. Updated

5 MISSION STATEMENT (cont.) The Youth Referee Development Program is designed to work hand-in -hand with Cal South Instruction and Assessment Programs so all of our referees will have the opportunity to advance. Updated

6 MENTOR WHAT IS A MENTOR? (DEFINITION) A wise and trusted teacher, guide, friend. An experienced adviser and supporter. Someone usually older and more experienced, who advises and guides a younger, less experienced person. Updated

7 THE YRDP PROGRAM FOCUS To operate under one umbrella program: All associations (professional and recreational) will use the same guidelines and procedures developed and approved by the YRDP Committee a. Same review and feedback processes for both association and special mentor programs b. Mentoring support available from the Committee c. All referee crews will be mentored as a team Updated
