I VE GOT THE POWER: Portland homered three times, as they rocked the Thunder 8-1 on Friday night LHP Chris Hernandez (2-0) fired seven scoreless frames on three hits, two walks and five strikeouts to earn the win Michael Almanzar (homered in the sixth) knocked in the first run with a two- out infield RBI single J.C. Linares gave the Dogs the lead for good, blasting a two- run homer over the Maine Monster Travis Shaw hit a solo- homer in the eighth off reliever Nik Turley Christian Vazquez went 2- for- 3 and nailed a two- run single off the Monster in the seventh Garin Cecchini finished 1- for- 3 with two runs scored. J.C. ON A TEAR: Linares has tied a season- high with a nine- game hit streak: 19- for- 39 (.487), 4 HR, 13 RBI, triple and 2 doubles The Cuban native has five straight multi- hit games this week, hitting.542 (13- for- 24) with 4 HR and 12 RBI Linares is hitting.273 overall, his highest average since April 24 th. THAT S QUALITY: Hernandez had a quality start in four of five starts since joining Portland on August 7 th from Triple- A Pawtucket The lefty missed a quality start on August 14 th, tossing 5.2 IP on three runs at Altoona.
