23 What makes the new terminal environmentally friendly? The lighting power of the terminal is produced by solar panels. Practical public transport connections, which reduces the passenger car traffic. In every quay there is a possibility to empty the sewage for free. By automooring (automatic ship mooring system) the mooring and detachment of the ships will be happened more rapidly reduces the fuel consumption and emissions of the ships. Automatic Gate actions. This will reduce overcrowding and idling. The docks has a preparation to connect the ships to shore power, which will reduce the emissions. Opportunity for LNG refuelling. The ship spots will be placed economically towards sea lane. The ship traffic is more fluent and the emissions are smaller.
