Livestock Office Phone - Show Days only - (830) No judge or any of their immediate family members may exhibit in any class that he or she will judge.. GENERAL RULES **CHANGES FOR 2012 LAMB ARRIVAL SCHEDULE** 1. The Fair Association will take all feasible precautions to prevent loss, damage or injury to you, your property, your livestock and the visitors to the Fair, but in case a loss, damage or injury does occur, the Fair Association will not assume any responsibility for such loss, damage, or injury. Each exhibitor will be responsible for taking care of his or her exhibits and for any damage or injury such exhibits may cause. 2. All entries should be postmarked by September 14th. CAPACITY OF THE BARN IS LIMITED. ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED BY EARLIEST DATE ON A FIRST PAID FIRST SERVE BASIS AS LONG AS SPACE IS AVAILABLE. When space is filled, entries will be returned. Entries must be mailed to: Livestock Committee, Comal County Fair Assn., P.O. Box , New Braunfels, Texas or delivered to the Comal County Fair Office. 3. There will be an entry fee of $25.00 per head for breeding cattle. Original registration paper must be provided upon check-in to the Livestock Office. See Market Show and Boer Goat Rules for Entry Fees. Entries without fees will be rejected. Make checks or money orders payable to Comal County Fair Assn. All entries fees after September 14th, IF ACCEPTED, will be cash or check only. 4. Livestock must be on the grounds in accordance with arrival schedule. 1
2 5. All animals exhibited must be free of infectious or contagious diseases and parasites, such as ticks, ear ticks, lice, or mites. If any animal is found to carry an infectious disease or parasite that can be transmitted to the other animals, the owner will be required to treat the animal to prevent the spread of the disease or parasites or remove the animal from the show grounds. 6. All livestock shall meet the Texas Animal Health Regulations. 7. Stall assignment is on first come - first serve basis. 8. Each exhibitor is responsible for cleaning of pens or stalls occupied by the animals and the alleys adjoining the pens or stalls. Cleaning should be done by 8:30 a.m. and the litter piled in the place designated by the Livestock Committee. 9. All animals exhibited must be sufficiently gentle and halter broken that they can be handled with safety to both exhibitor and spectators. Animals should be in show condition. Animals that do not meet these requirements may, at the discretion of the Livestock Superintendent or Show Chair, be barred from the show ring and/or barn. 10. First through tenth place awards will be offered in each class, but if in the opinion of the judge the animal exhibited is not worthy of such award, he may make an award as is in keeping with the quality of the animal exhibited. The judge's decision will be final. No breed championship trophy will be awarded unless at least three animals of same sex and breed are exhibited. 11. Premium money will be awarded in accordance with the ribbon awarded in all classes, regardless of competition. 12. Breeding and market animals will be released in accordance with the release schedule. Livestock divisions allowed to leave "After Show" must be removed within 2 hours of the conclusion of the respective show or will remain on the grounds until last release time. No exceptions. 13. Exhibitors are encouraged to hang signs over their livestock to advertise their exhibits, but such signs must not be longer than the space occupied by the exhibitor s livestock. 14. A CCFA Coupon redeemable for prize money (at the Cashier Window in the Main CCFA Office) will be awarded in the livestock office at the completion of each class or division. 15. Junior Show Exhibitors will be issued two Gate Passes. Breeding Exhibitors will not exceed 4 passes. Passes will be issued upon sign-up at the Livestock Office. 16. Unprotected fans are prohibited in livestock barn. 17. Feed and Tack Gate will be open each morning from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and each evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 18. A hanging Livestock Exhibitor parking pass will be issued upon registration at the Livestock Office. One per Trailer. Exhibitors are encouraged to park trailers off site if possible, as space in CCFA parking lot is limited. 19. All livestock will load and unload at the Grant Street gates. 20. A $5 cleanup fee has been added to the entry fees. 2

All Entry fees after deadline must be cash. No Refunds. 3. Official weight will be recorded and classes will be split based on weight. See weighing schedule. No reweigh. 4. Lambs will be shown in the following classes and order: Southdown, Fine wool, Fine wool Cross, and Medium Wool. Lambs may be classified in the ring by the judge. Any lamb classified out will be allowed to move to the proper class 5. Whether and Ewe lambs eligible; must have baby teeth intact; must be slick shorn; No artificial coloring allowed % of entry fees will be prorated and paid out according to entries. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st - 10th place, and Grand champion will be awarded a belt buckle. 3

All exhibitors and steers are subject to the General Livestock Rules No Exhibitor must own the Steer entered. 2. Entry fee is $25. per head until Sept. 14th, $35, if entry accepted, after deadline. Barn Space is limited. Late entries must call before you haul. All entry fees after deadline must be cash. No Refunds. 3. Classes will be set up by weight. No minimum or maximum limits. No reweigh. See weighing schedule. 4. Steers will be shown in the following classes: American, British, and European % of Jackpot entry fees to be prorated and paid out according to entries. Registration paper reflecting exhibitor ownership by Sept. 1 st. Original registration paper must be provided upon check-in to the Livestock Office. The classes listed below are offered for Horned and Polled Herefords, Angus, Brahman, Santa Gertrudis, Brangus, Charolais, and other heifers. Each breed having 6 or more entries will be shown separately. Breeds with less than 6 entries will compete in American, British or European Age Classes. No animals over 37 months of age or under 5 months of age. The top blue ribbon heifer of each breed or division will compete for Champion Female. All exhibitors and goats are subject to the General Livestock Rules No Entry fee is $20. per head until Sept. 14th, $30 cash, if entry accepted, after deadline. Barn Space is limited. Late entries must call before you haul. All entry fees after deadline must be cash. No Refunds. 3. Classes will be governed by ABGA rules % of entry fees after expenses to be prorated and paid out according to entries. Grand champion will be awarded a belt buckle. JUNIOR MARKET GOAT SHOW CHAIRMAN: Carl Plant COMMITTEE: Karla Friesenhahn, Glenn Avriett, Bobby Jackson, Billie Zercher Competition open to current members of any FFA Chapter or 4 - H Club supervised by a county agent or vo-ag instructor within Comal and adjoining Counties. 1. All exhibitors and goats are subject to the General Livestock Rules No Exhibitor must own the goat entered. 2. Whether goats only of any breed or crossbreed may be shown. 3. Entry fee is $15 per head until Sept. 14th, $20 after deadline. All Entry fees after deadline must be cash. No Refunds. 4. Goats must weigh a minimum of 25 pounds. No upper weight limit. Weight cards will be provided by show. All weight cards must be turned in as stated on schedule. Classes will be divided by weight according to entries. Classes are subject to weigh back of 4 lbs. over official weight. Goats that weigh out on re-weigh are disqualified. Committee will designate class or classes to compete for Champion and Reserve of the Light Weight, Medium Weight and Heavy Weight divisions. The Weight Champions and Reserves will compete for Grand and Reserve Champion of the Show. 5. Baby teeth must be intact. Entries may be shown with halter or collar. 6. Goats must be shorn within 3/8 inch of skin or less above knee and hock joints. Goats must be dehorned or horns must be tipped prior to arrival. No artificial coloring allowed % of entry fees will be prorated and paid out according to entries. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st - 10th place, and Grand champion will be awarded a belt buckle. 5
6 JR. SHOW SHOWMANSHIP CONTEST Fee for Senior and Junior Showmanship is $5.00 per exhibitor that must be paid in advance. No charge for Pee Wee. An award will be offered to the Champion Showman of the Pee Wee, Junior, and Senior classes in each division - Lambs, Goats and Steers / Cattle. Age limits: Pee Wee - second grade and under, Jr. - third through eighth grades, Sr. - ninth through twelfth grades. All Animals must have been entered in the Market or Breeding division and owned by the exhibitor. Pee Wee ownership requirement will be waived, but the animal must have been entered in the division. There must be at least 2 entries in each class to compete for the award. Showmanship will follow the judging of each Market division. Exhibitors may compete for Showmanship only once in any division. 6
