It's a bring D, D & K (dish & drink to pass) and your kayak. We usually paddle the whole length of the lake, so be in shape; it's quite a paddle. After this strenuous 20 min trip we sometimes go swimming at the dam to cool off from the work out. Then it's back to Tony's for food an refreshments. Turn off Rt 28 at Horton Road (just before the Wig Wam bar), go straight a couple of miles and then straight on Meyers Hill Rd (secret- there ain't no hill) and look for Bartoltti's sign Kayak on the Kunjamuk Sunday, August 12 th, Come paddle with us on the Kunjamuk river, Speculator. This was a favorite in the past and we haven t done it in awhile. We will meet at the HSBC bank in Mapledale at 9:30AM to convoy north. We will park and launch from the snowmobile parking lot by the firehouse on Rt 30 in Speculator. Contact Ron or Andy with questions or for more info.

The camping trip is over (and we didn't get yelled at for too noisy at happy hour, just some people for playing cards). The clambake is coming up, and we have biking, rollerblading, and more kayaking on the schedule. So as Bob Barker used to say "come on down" and join in on these fun events. And remember, only four months to ski season. General membership meeting Andy Are held at the American Legion Post # 1113 in Whitesboro at 7:30 P.M. Meetings are Usually the 1 st and 3 rd Tuesdays of the month from Oct. to April. Guests are always welcome. 3 Boilermaker Race. I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped at the water station for the 30th Boilermaker race. Every one did a great job: the water cup hander outers, the ice cup hander outers, the ice sign holder, the water cup filler upers, the ice cup filler upers, the ice bag movers, the water hose turner oner, the used cup raker upers, the garbage bag holders, the picture takerer, the table seter upers and taker downers, all the clappers and cheerers, and of course, me - your captian. But seriously, there are a lot of things to do and every thing was done great. I know the runners appreciate the help we give them. I, the board, the water stop volunteers, and the members of the club, congradulate all of the ski club members that ran either the 5K or the 15K race. Job well done. See you next year Andy Great Rollerblading Rollerblading on Wednesday, August 22nd, 6PM at the parking Lot at the corner of Rte 840 and Clark Mills Rd. This is a Great New Trail, Flat & Ideal for Rollerblading!! Come Roll along with Us!! Call Ron at for info. Hike to Hadley Mountain Sunday, Sept 23 rd, we ll hike up Hadley Mtn. This hike has a great panoramic view of the Southeastern Adirondack Mtns from the Restored FireTower. It is located just North of Great Sacandaga reservoir. We ll Meet at the Park N Ride Lot, next to the State DOT just off of North Genesee St at 9 AM. Call Ed at or Ron at more info. Winter Skiing Trips Jay Peak Trip - February 24 th 27 th. We ll be staying Slopeside at The East s Snowiest Ski Resort. Start Planning your calendar Now for Skiing. Base Elevation: 1,815 feet Vertical: 2,153 feet. Total number of trails: 76 trails, glades and chutes Difficulty of trails: 20% novice, 40% intermediate, 40% advanced Longest trail - 3 miles. Note ** important announcement** We will be meeting after work on Friday Aug 10 at the Black Cat on French Rd in Utica and again on Fri Aug 24 at Bucky's on Floyd Ave in Rome for some socializing, camaraderie, and refreshments. I guess some people call this a T.G.I.F. or a happy hour. What ever your preference, join the other club members for some fun. (Rumor has it, we will be doing this again on Sept 7 at the Devereux and Sept 21 at Tiny's) and also Oct. 5 th at the Hotel Moore in Barneveld and also at the Hook Line and Sinker on Oct 19 th,and also on November 9 th at Tiny s Grill and also at The Village Tavern, Clinton on November23rd. Did I mention we like to socialize a bit. BIKE RIDE: On Wed Aug 8 we will meet at 6pm at the state D.O.T. parking area off N Genesee St and bike along the barge canal. We can stop at lock 20 to see if any boats are going through. Maybe after wards we'll go to Babes for a refreshment. 5 Indian Lake Islands Paddle On Sunday, Sept 9 th, we ll paddle on this Large Central Adirondack Lake with many islands and beaches. We ve done this trip along with the Tramp N Trail club for a few years now. Meet at HSBC bank Mapledale at 8:30 AM. Mark your calendars and join us for another Great Trip. LAKE PLACID /HIGH PEAKS WEEKEND HIKE IN THE ADIRONDACK HIGH PEAKS NEAR LAKE PLACID There are many fine restaurants, shops, the Olympic ski jumps, Mt Van Hoevenberg and more. We ll be staying at the Jack Rabbit Inn about 2 miles from the ski jumps on Rt. 73 near Lake Placid on Friday, Sept 28th thru Sunday, Sept 30th. The inn has a large kitchen and many bunk beds. The cost for the weekend is $60, which includes 2 breakfasts and lunch food.
