Flag Salute was led by Keith Clark. Roll Call taken by Patrick Fay 17 Members, 1 Qualifying, 0 Guests Minutes of previous meeting were read by Linda Torrey and approved by the club. Treasurers Report: Read by Arnold Taffoya. See newsletter for details. Bills to be paid: $150 to CA4WD in $25 increments for cash prizes $100 to fund for fire victims in California Wildlife Relief fund Delegate/Conservation report: None Old Business: December Run: Dan Calva was present, but the trail bosses had made no plans, so we will not have a December run. It was noted that this is not the first time we have had no run in December Unsanctioned Christmas Party: Karyn Gerwein reminded us to meet at Sergio s 6PM Saturday bring white elephant. 39 RSVP d. New Business: January Run: Arnold Taffoya and Dave Peifer trail bosses. Will be area surrounding Salton Sea, date will be January 11-13, Camp will move each night, but first night will be at Mecca Beach State Park and there will be a hosted Taco Night. The camp is a charge area however we can put more than one camper in each site. Last chance for gas on Saturday will be at the ARCO station. Camping on Saturday night will be primitive. February Run: Keith Clark, Mike Bricker, Dave Gothard and Joey Morrison are trail bosses. Dates will be February 15-16, 2019 and it will an RV friendly run. No location set yet. The 50/50 of $67.50 as won by Gary Parkin. Meeting adjourned at 7:27 PM by Patrick Fay. 2 December 2018 Page 2 Minutes Continued Trail Boss Responsibilities 1. Plan and organize all aspects of the trip 2. Create and forward materials such as maps, adventure pass, if needed, date and time, trail expectations and camping needs to newsletter editor. This should be done days prior to jeep run 3. If unable to forward to newsletter editor it is the trail bosses responsibility to get all information to all members and qualifying members. 4. Trail bosses should have a backup plan in case primary plan has complications or closures. 5. All trail bosses should help organize camping spaces with regards to forming a circle to ensure a common fire area. 6. It is recommended that trail bosses conduct a drivers meeting the morning of the run. If no drivers meeting you must advise everyone when run will leave camp. 7. Trail bosses need to place DDD signs to help participants locate camp. 8. If trail bosses wish the Drifters Jeep Club banner, it can be put up. 9. It is the responsibility of previous trail bosses to get DDD signs and banner to the next trail bosses. 10. During the run, trail bosses must keep the run organized by having a leader and a tail gunner. At no time should a trail boss leave anyone behind. 11. Please advise all in attendance that we will be on CB radio channel 15 or club radio channel 1 or both. 12. The trail bosses must get trip report to newsletter editor no later than the 12th of the month following the run. 13. The trail bosses should get attendance to the Vice President as soon as possible. Please do not make the Vice President get the info from the newsletter. A form is being provided to ease the process of attendance. 14. A Boner flag should be given out at the meeting following the run. Remember, the Boner flag is a good natured way to tell your jeepn buddy OK, so you had a problem, we have all been there. The Boner flag is not an insult and nobody should take it that way. 15. It is the responsibility of all in attendance to clean up after the run. Please be sure to clean the campsite before leaving camp. We should always use the old adage Pack it in, Pack it out. All trail bosses should work together to make sure the area is as good or better than we found it.
