4 Established in 2011 Centerville Lacrosse Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth of youth lacrosse in the Centerville/Washington Township area of Ohio
5 US Lacrosse-Membership Required! US Lacrosse is the national governing body of men's and women's lacrosse. Membership in US Lacrosse provides league required insurance coverage for the players and coaches as well as other benefits. All Centerville Youth Lacrosse players and coaches must be active members of US Lacrosse. Southern Ohio Chapter of US Lacrosse The Southern Ohio Chapter of US Lacrosse is the governing body of our 3rd through 6th grade lacrosse program. Ohio Middle School Lacrosse Association The Ohio Middle School Lacrosse Association is the governing body of the boys middle school teams (7th and 8th graders).
6 All coaches are required to: Pass a background check administered by the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI). Complete the Positive Coaching Alliance s Double Goal Begin their Level 1 US Lacrosse Coach Education Program (CEP) Complete NFHS Concussion Training
7 Ohio Return To Play Law CVLAX Responsibility -Provide Players/Parents with Concussion Sheet -Ensure Each of our coaches is properly trained -Remove Child from Play and Enforce return-to-play rules Parent Responsibility -Study the concussion sheet that was provided -Watch for symptoms of concussion at home
8 Integration with Boy s High School Program Working closely with HS Boys Coaches Return to Grade Based Program Where possible, keep all players in a grade together Use of Legacy Field at Alumni Stadium
9 Below Standard Approaching Standard Standard Exceeding Standard Handles the ball with one hand only Plays with the stick horizontal Passes to the man next to him only Player lacks situational awareness in most situations and mishandles the ball. Does not communicate Plays defense passively Can handle the ball with both hands in limited situations Capable of handling the ball in with both hands in many situations Plays with stick horizontal and vertical Plays with stick vertical and values the ball Moves the ball around the perimeter of the play; unable to penetrate through the defense Player was aware of himself. Is able to handle the ball, but hesitates in doing so. Possesses the ability to communicate, but chooses not to Plays defense erratically without discipline Is able to move the ball in valuable ways that move toward the desired result of a given situation Player clearly demonstrates awareness of position in a given situation. Handles the ball appropriately. Is able to effectively communicate on the field with other teammates Plays defense in this order: position, footwork, and body Confident ball handler in all situations with both hands Capable of making plays with stick in many positions showing mastery of stick skills Moves the ball in valuable ways that move toward the desired result of a given situation with fluency Player is aware of his position in all situations on the field. Controls the ball in an effective manner. Communicates with teammates on the field and constructively communicates while not on the field Plays defense in this order: position to control, footwork to neutralize, and body to turns player away from the goal Misunderstands how the offense and defense works Unwilling to go for groundballs and scrap for the ball Seems to occasionally misunderstand what should happen in the offense and defense Willing to go for groundballs, but shy s away from contact and other aspects of the game Displays working knowledge of offensive and defensive schemes Has shown the ability to scrap for groundballs and shows they desire to compete in all aspects of the game Understands offensive and defensive schemes and can anticipate what should happen without structure Determined to win all groundballs and expresses clear desire to win all battles on the field

11 BOYS Helmet Shoulder Pads Arm Pads Gloves Lacrosse stick (crosse) Mouth Guard (may not be white or clear) Athletic cup and cup holder Light weight cleats (football or soccer are fine). No steel or baseball cleats. Optional Equipment - Rib guard/pads, GOALIES REQUIRED Helmet, Throat guard, Chest protector, Elbow Pads Optional Goalie gloves, shin guards, knee pads, and thigh pads.

15 K2 Games Games will Be on Saturdays Boys Youth Games Typically played on Sunday First games are March 6th Schedule will be generated by SO/USL and is supposed to be available in mid-february. Boys Middle School Games Generally Played on Monday, Tuesday and/or Thursday nights. Game schedules are/will be available on the website.
16 CWPD makes the final call Frost, snow, or heavy rain will mean no practice or games on the park fields. Coaches and Team Managers will be notified of field closings around 3pm on weekdays. 8am on weekends.
17 Families will be required to support the organization by donating some of their time to facilitate various activities of the club and Park District. Team Managers will assign the specific activities and times to their team
