Volume 7 Number What a wonderful, fun NCECA State/NVON Conference we just had! Our theme was New Ideas & Knowledge for a newer you. Oh, the many seminars and craft workshops offered. Topics ranged from A-Z. Ask those from your county who were there to share with you. We need to be sure to share all we learned with our fellow ECA members. We had wonderful speakers - DG Martin, Lisa Prince, Honorable Elaine Marshall and Dr Carolyn Dunn. The Waccamaw Siouan American Indian dancers and Erica Jones were great entertainment. I am so proud of the 144 who attended from NC. We had 103 from the other seven states. It was a delightful time to renew and make new friends from other places. We learned NVON has donated $120,000 worth of water filters over the four years and we are still doing that wonderful Water Around the World Project! Our ongoing Project in Common is Eat Local, Eat Healthy which our own Wanda Denning heads. Reports of 3000 purchased their own food locally and 750 grew their own food. Some from NC reported using apples and blueberries planted by God! Wanda prepared a wonderful, beautiful NCECA Annual Report for us. Presidents, be sure to share this report with your members. We say thanks to Wanda for the fabulous job! This report is much more interesting than previous years with lots of color. CVU Coordinator Anne Gaddis, Lenoir County 2017 Cultural Arts Chairs Louise Faison - Wayne County Ruby Brinson - Duplin County Like NC ECA on facebook We want to thank Joyce Kluttz for all she and her committee did to make the NVON Conference a success. Thanks for all your hard work! A BIG thanks to ALL who played a part and attended!
