1 S P O R T S CYCLING MOUNTAIN BIKE The name Napa Valley evokes images of one of the great winegrowing regions in the world, of rolling hills and lush vineyards. But one of these vineyards evokes a different image for Mountain Bike enthusiasts because of the outstanding World Cup event staged there every year. For this reason BASOC has designated Domaine Chandon as its venue for this discipline. It is a wellproven course that meets the highest standards, and what a venue it is! The course snakes through oak-studded Napa mountainsides, up and down its canyons and along tracks that border the vines of this world-renowned winery. The start/finish area is set at the Welcome Center of the winery, so that the media, officials and spectators will enjoy excellent infrastructure. In fact, the award-winning Domaine Chandon restaurant will serve as the Olympic Family Lounge, where phenomenal culinary creations are served every day.
