1 DRC Speedway Dirt Oval Rule Book Updated General Rules Race Format Heat Races: Each racer will participate in two rounds of 4 minute heat races. Round 1 heat races will be randomly sorted by the computer. Heat races will be resorted for round 2. All qualifying races will be an ifmar rolling start. Main Events: All classes will run 4 minute main events. The six racers in each class with the fastest single round times will qualify straight into the A-Main. The next six will be in the B-Main, etc... Top 2 finishers in each lower main will bump up to the next higher main. Main Event Grid Lineup: All Main events will be lined up according to qualifying position. Lower Main Transfer drivers will start 7 th and 8 th accordingly. Track Procedures Turn marshals may not work on or repair cars. All cars must enter and exit the racing surface via the pit lane at all times. Any cars damaged and placed in the infield will remain there until that race is over. All drivers must turn marshal the race immediately following their race. All cars will be made available for tech inspection before and after race. Once a car has gone through tech before the race it must go directly to the track and not to pit area. All cars must have a personal transponder, or it will not be scored. Race Format 8 cars maximum per heat race. There will be no fewer than 2 rounds of heat races, unless poor weather or other uncontrollable circumstances arise. Scoring Issues In the event that laps may have been missed by the scoring system, please let the race director know IMMEDIATELY after the race in question. The race director will investigate the situation. It is a judgment call for the race director, based on several factors, including if the system has had issues or not, and if the race director witnessed the missed laps. If the race director does not witness missed laps first hand, the only other method to be awarded all appropriate laps is to have video evidence of the race to verify lap totals/timing. It is the racers responsibility to have transponders in perfect working order. The Race director will do everything possible to ensure proper scoring in any event, but a non-scoring transponder is not the race directors fault. Personal Transponders and ROAR memberships Personal transponders and roar memberships are required to race in any event at DRC Speedway. Best of the West Series Anyone planning to run a Best of the West Series event should review the latest BOTW rulebook to ensure the legality of their car for the series. Any BOTW legal car will also be legal to race here at DRC Speedway. DRC Speedway Rule Book Disclaimer DRC Speedway rules are based off of the Best of the West Series rules which use a modified form of DLMRA rules for 8th Scale, and a modified form of DODC Rules for 10th scale classes. There are a few minor additions to each of the respective rule books, and these additions are to help adapt the rules to our race program. If the rule book does not specifically say you can do something, either assume that you cannot, or ask an official for clarification or legality of what you would like to do. Any attempt to cheat the rules or to do anything that is not within the Spirit of the Rules may be deemed illegal at any time. No silicone capped or rubber capped tires are legal for competition in any class. Tire Additives Doping of tires will not be permitted in ANY CLASS. SIMPLE GREEN is the one approved product that may be used on your tires to clean them. Use of anything other than simple green to clean tires will result in immediate disqualification. The ONLY compound that should touch your tires is Simple Green. You may not use Solvents, Oils, Greases, Hand cleaners or ANY other products on your tires. All tires should be wiped clean of simple green prior to being set on the track. All cars must go

2 thru pre- race tech to insure Tire Doping rules are being adhered to. The purpose of this rule is to eliminate the need to put expensive, toxic, cancer causing chemicals on your tires. The need to dope tires, whether real or perceived, is eliminated. ANY racer found with tire dope at the race track will be subject to disqualification. 1/10th Scale Classes All Classes: All entries must be 2wd and rear wheel drive only. For turn marshal safety all cars must have a front bumper that is made of a shock absorbing material e.g. nylon, delrin, plastic, kydex etc. Front bumpers must be mounted in such a way that they will contact an object prior to any other portion of the car in a front impact. All cars must have 4-wheel independent suspension. All cars must have single speed transmissions only. All EDM bodies, Late model bodies, sprint car bodies and cages must resemble contemporary full scale cars racing in World of Outlaws and DIRT sanctioned events. All corners of bodies and wings must be rounded for safety. Wheelbase for all Sprint cars, EDM s and late models ( Excluding SCLM classes) must be within and ". Max width is (Excluding SCLM classes) Sprint Cars Must have scale appearing cage, hood, side panels, nerf bars and bumpers. Minimum of a 4 post cage required that resembles a drivers cockpit. A driver arm guard area is permitted on right side panel bust must be of reasonable size. All electronics, radio gear, fuel tanks must be positioned inside the cage side frames. Three dimensional scale appearing exhaust headers are recommended, but not mandatory. Rear cage side panels may be used but may not extend more than.250 beyond rear cage frame. No lexan or any other material may be mounted to nerf bars, bumpers, cage, wing or any other part of the car that will trap, alter, or direct air flow for the purpose of gaining an aerodynamic advantage. Must have appropriate openings on both sides of cage in driver compartment, forward portion of side panels can be no taller than highest point of hood, no solid side panels. - Maximum Length: " - Maximum width of hood: 3.600" - Maximum cage width at driver halo, down tubes, and top frame rail: 3.600" - Minimum vertical gap from top of hood to front cage crossbar:.750" - Wing minimum height at leading edge: 5.000" from bottom of chassis Sprint Car Wings: Center section and side panels must be made from at least 3 separate pieces of polycarbonate, carbon or aluminum material. All corners and edges must be rounded and free of sharp edges. Main and Front wings must be mounted so that they are centered on cage, no offset wings. Wing center sections must have all 4 corners set at 90 degree angles, no canted or angled panels. Wings must also be mounted level from side to side. Center section of wing may not extend beyond leading or trailing edge of side panels. Side panels must have braces that hold side panel rigid at 90deg. to center section during race conditions. Two braces are required from top of the center foil to the left sideboard and one brace is permitted below the center foil to the right side board. Braces can be a maximum of.750" wide and front edge of front brace must be no more than 1.5 back from side panel leading edge. Side Panels may have front, back, top and bottom turnouts of no more than.375" and are included in max dimension. Flat foil center sections will be allowed a.250 turndown at the leading edge. 410 Sprint Car Rules - Any ROAR Approved, sensored brushless Motor. Any ESC. Any ROAR Approved 7.4 volt LiPo Battery. - Minimum Weight: 52oz. including transponder - Maximum Wing Size - 7 x Sprint Car Rules - Any 13.5 ROAR Approved Spec Motors, Any ROAR Approved BLINKY MODE ESC. Any ROAR Approved 7.4 volt LiPo Battery. - Minimum Weight: 52oz. including transponder - Maximum Wing Size - 6 x SPEC EDM Body Rules: - All racers must use the BEST of the WEST SPEC EDM Body, built by CDK. This body is part #MS All racers must use the pre-drilled holes to attach their side panels to the molded roof and center sections. ALL screw holes must have securely fastened screws and nuts assembling the body.

3 - All racers must mount their bodies to their chassis AS STRAIGHT AS POSSIBLE. Skewing of the body is NOT PERMITTED. - Bodies will be measured in the front and rear, from the centerline of the chassis. The body side panels must be within 1/8 of parallel to the centerline of the chassis. - A minimum of 1/3 of the LR tire, and a minimum of 1/3 of the RR tire must be exposed with the body securely mounted. - The only tuning option on the SPEC body will be the included Front Nose Piece and Rear Spoiler. It is the racers option to run these pieces. No other rear spoilers or nose pieces will be allowed. - Bracing of the body is at the racers discretion. There is no limit to the number of braces added to the body. - Braces must be of a reasonable size and shape, and may not be designed as an aero-tool to create down force or any other aero-advantage. - A Flat Lexan Nose Piece may be used in place of the stock CDK Molded nose piece. Maximum Dimensions: Wide x Long. Panel must bolt to chassis securely so as not to fall off in an impact. Panel may have ONLY one bend, no wickerbills Spec EDM Rules -Any ROAR Approved 10.5 turn or higher sensored brushless motor. Any ESC. Any 7.4 volt LiPo Battery. -Minimum Weight: 52oz. including transponder -Starting on October 28th this class will change to 10.5 "Blinky" A ROAR Approved BLINKY MODE ESC must be used in the zero timing mode. Battery Safety All racers shall take every precaution to insure safe charging and discharging techniques with their batteries. This shall include but is not limited to, attentive monitoring of battery during charging. To insure safe charging methods are followed by all competitors, all batteries may be checked prior to each race to ensure battery voltage is a maximum of 8.44 volts or less. If the battery reads 8.45 or more you do not race that race. Second offense results in DISQUALIFICATION from the event. Nitro Sprint Rules -Engines: Any.12 cubic inch engine. -Weights: Minimum weight is 56 oz. including Transponder and fuel. -Fuel Tank Capacity: 75cc Maximum. -Maximum wing size - 7 x 7. Cars MUST be refueld off the racing surface. Nitro Sprint, 410 Sprint, 360 Sprint, and 10.5 EDM Tire Rules: All cars will use Foam or Rubber Street Treaded tires. Grooving is permitted. No pin tires will be allowed Sportsman Sprint Car Rules: - Sprint Car bodies and wings must adhere to DODC body rules. Maximum 6 x 6 wing. - Any ROAR Approved 7.4 volt LiPo Battery. - Minimum weight is 52oz. Race Ready with Transponder. - All racers must use a ROAR Approved 17.5 turn Brushless motor, set to 0 degrees of motor timing. - All racers must use the SPEC Mandated Spur and pinion gears, under supervision of the race director. - All racers must use NON-BOOST ESC s or a profile set with zero degrees of motor timing. If your ESC has boosted profile capabilities, it must be set to a ROAR Spec/Blinky mode to indicate zero ESC timing Sportsman Sprint Car SPEC Gear Ratios - All participants will need to adhere to the following SPEC GEAR RATIOS: - Direct Drive Cars: Must run a 93 tooth 48 pitch spur gear, and 23 tooth pinion gear (4.04 FDR) OR Must run a 81 tooth 48 pitch spur gear, and 20 tooth pinion gear (4.05 FDR)

4 -2.4:1 (B2,B3,CW) Transmissions: Must run a 88 tooth 64 pitch spur gear, and 52 tooth pinion gear (4.06 FDR) OR Must run a 66 tooth 48 pitch spur gear, and 39 tooth pinion gear (4.06 FDR) -2.6:1 (B4,HD) Transmissions: Must run a 80 tooth 64 pitch spur gear, and 51 tooth pinion gear (4.07 FDR) If you plan on running a vehicle with another type of transmission, let me know so I can calculate a proper gear ratio for you. If you have any questions feel free to ask. The reason some cars will use 64 pitch gears, while others use 48 pitch is to get the Gear Ratios as close as possible, to eliminate any advantage to running a particular transmission type. There is no advantage to running 64 or 48 pitch, as long as the ratio is the same. SPEC Tire -The Sportsman 17.5 class will run 35 Shore OR HARDER FOAM tires as a SPEC TIRE at all races. Regardless of tire diameter, the same SPEC Gear Ratio must be used. This will prevent racers from truing tires down small for more corner speed, as you will lose straightaway speed. As tires wear, corner speed will increase, and straightaway speed will decrease, resulting in a happy medium, no matter the tire size. -The race director reserves the right to slow down any racers car if needed to even the playing field. This is purely power related. I will make no attempts to limit handling. If a car is motoring past all others, It will be looked at to determine how to even the field, in the best interest of the class. Street Stock Class Rules Legal Chassis Platforms: Any production OFFROAD REAR MOTOR Buggy chassis, Current or vintage. All Street Stock cars must use: - Speed Controls: ANY ROAR Blinky Mode ESC will be allowed. - Motors: There are two different types of motors that are legal for use: SPEC Motor or OPEN Motor. LEGAL SPEC MOTORS: Speed Passion Citrix V3 Ultra Sportsman 17.5 SPEC Motor or the Speed Passion Citrix V2 Ultra Sportsman 17,5 SPEC Motor - Both with a Street Price of $35. The Speed Passion Citrix V2 Ultra Sportsman 17,5 SPEC Motor may also be used and considered a SPEC Motor. LEGAL OPEN MOTORS: ANY ROAR APPROVED 17.5 (except the trinity d3.5) motor will be allowed with the following penalty: Motor must be set at 0 degrees of timing, or minimum advance possible. OPEN Motored cars will receive a THREE tooth penalty on the pinion gear. IF YOUR OPEN MOTOR CANNOT BE SET TO 0* TIMING, YOU WILL BE PENALIZED. 1-5 Degrees = 1 Tooth Additional Penalty Degrees = 2 Tooth Additional Penalty Degrees - 3 Tooth Additional Penalty - Battery: ANY Brand of 2s Hard Case Li-Po Battery Pack, 3300mAh Maximum Capacity, and 25C maximum rated output will be allowed. Battery must include manufacturer labeling stating battery mah capacity and C rating that meet the class specification. Any battery with labels that are missing, unreadable or appear to have been tampered with or altered will not be allowed. - SPEC Bodies: McAllister Racing Street Stock Bodies ONLY: # Plymouth, # Charger, # Mercury, #264 - Camaro, #268 - Monte Carlo, # Barracuda, or # Mustang. Decking - Bodies may be decked, however if a body is decked, it must be done up in full concourse style: Decked, with driver figure, and metal mesh windshield screen like a real dirt street stock. - SPEC Tires: There will be two tire options. Option #1 - ANY Make and Model Compound 2.2 2wd Off-Road Buggy Tires, mounted on 2.2 Off-Road Buggy Wheels

5 Option #2 - Custom Works Standard (Hard) Compound Street Trac Tires, mounted on any 2.0 Wheels. HB compound tires are not permitted. (Street Tracs mounted on 2.2 wheels must run gear ratio for Buggy Tires) - SPEC Gear Ratio: All cars must use a SPEC Gear Ratio, depending on the particular motor and tire package in/on the car. GEAR COVERS ARE MANDATORY FOR TURN MARSHALL SAFETY ON ALL STREET STOCK CARS Items You May Adjust: Caster, Camber, Front Toe, Ride Height, Oil, Piston, Spring, Limiting, Shock Locations, rear hub spacing, camber link location, anti-squat, Battery location Forward and aft as your chassis allows. Items You May Not Adjust: Gearing, Rear Toe in, No Sway Bars, No Short Shocks or Aftermarket Towers. Battery must be mounted along centerline of the chassis, ESC must be mounted on left side of chassis, and receiver must be mounted on right side of chassis. No adding Left Side Weight. Any lead added must be done equally Left to right. - Lightweight Components: will be allowed. Slipper Eliminators will be allowed. - Minimum Weight: OPEN Motor: 59 ounces, race ready. OPEN Motor Cars must have a minimum of 1 ounce of added weight located behind the rear shock tower, and above the motor. -SPEC Motor: 56 ounces, race ready. Lead can be added to the chassis for tuning and to achieve minimum weight, however ALL LEAD must be distributed equally along the centerline of the chassis. Any added weight to the left side of the chassis must be matched to an equal amount of weight added to the right side of the chassis. ANY Attempt to over-engineer the cars in this class will result in a weight penalty in the rear of the chassis.

6 2wd Short Course Late Model (SCLM) Class Rules -Any Production 2wd SCT is permitted Motor/ESC You must run a sct RTR style Brushed Motor and ESC, OR a ROAR approved 10.5t brushless motor and any ROAR Approved BLINKY MODE ESC. The brushless rtr electronics from a slash or SC10 RTR will be legal as well. Run whatever endbell timing you want on your brushless motors. Tires/Wheels -Tires must be either a stock sct rtr tire, proline "Street Fighter" Part number PRO , or the Dynamite Speedtreads Robber SC Tire (DYN5121) All of the stock RTR tires will hook up fine on our sealed track. -Wheels must be the 2.2/3.0 SC wheels, no 1/10 ST or 1/8 buggy wheels -Tires must be the 2.2/3.0 SC rubber tires -No foam tires! Spec Bodies: -Molded one- piece bodies only. -No additional wings, flaps, spoilers, wickers, vents or doohickeys will be allowed. -Decking is NOT allowed -There will be no metal body parts of any kind. -All bodies must be approved. Rear Spoiler Specs: -Rear spoiler can only be as wide as the body at the rear quarter panels. -Rear spoiler 3" max from deck. -The end caps must be a triangle shape. -You may have one fin on the spoiler and two side caps. -The third fin must also be the same dimension as side cap. -It can be located anywhere on the spoiler between the two side caps. -The fin must be in line with the side caps on the front leading edge. -Short course truck bodies are also legal. Truck bodies are also allowed to use the spoiler package. We highly recommend the use of a late model body. -Approved Body list: C&M 2011 "Assassin" C&M-2009 "ATOMIC" C&M 2011 "Atomic SC" Losi# losa8096 Ofna# RJ Speed# 1015 & 1030 A+ one piece 2009 Stalker 2010 Stalker SS 2010 Onstat LM -All bodies must be mounted high enough so they do not scrape or damage the surface of the track. -All cars must have a front bumper that is made of a shock absorbing material e.g. nylon, delrin, plastic, kydex etc. Front bumpers must be mounted in such a way that they will contact an object prior to any other portion of the car in a front impact. -Any 2s LiPo or 6-cell Nimh battery pack is permitted. -Fun is mandatory. Do not take this class too seriously. -Any gear ratio is allowed -Shock limiting, Fluid and piston changes, spring preload adjustment and shock mount location changes are permitted if your car has the option holes in the stock components. - All electronics must be in the stock factory designed position/locatation! No offset batteries allowed. -No wheel adaptors or spacers may be used increase overall width. -If using an SC10, You must run Zero degree rear hub carriers. -Springs must be SC truck based and can not be cut or shortened. -Shocks must be SC based and can run any oil and piston combo. -Zip-Tying your suspension is legal to limit travel.

7 -Low CG Chassis are Legal. -Any attempt to gain an advantage by altering your components or attempting to exploit a grey area of the rules will be seen as an attempt to cheat. The spirit of the rules is to have an affordable, basic, and fun class to help entice off-road and other racers to get into Dirt Oval racing. If you want to get serious and live in the grey area, race a real dirt oval class. Any violations of the spirit of the rules stated above will result in disqualification of the run by the driver in violation, and that driver will be given one attempt to adhere to the rules. Next violation will result in disqualification from the event. HAVE FUN or GO HOME. THIS IS A FUN CLASS, Not a racing for blood class. -Race Director reserves the right to add, remove, or change a rule at any time as he see fit to maintain the spirit of the class. ***Final Decisions regarding rules interpretations are solely at the discretion of the Race Director***
