Thank you John for always making it new and exciting for the drivers.

Clay was a visitor at our last meeting and decided to join VTV s. Clay lives in Arroyo Grande with his wife Kathy. He owns a black 03 Z06 and it appears he really enjoys autocrossing.

Thank you to all members that came out to support the event by helping and/or driving. We had a good turnout of participants and a great layout of the track. Thank you John for always making it new and exciting for the drivers. These events are not easy to host with our small number of club members but we all worked very well together like a true team that we are! Welcome to Vapor Trail Vettes, Clay Beck! We all welcome you to the club, Clay! We will be working on event dates for next year at the November meeting. Please look over your calendars and be prepared to give your input. Larry has sent all club members a form for E-board nominations for next year. Please do your part and return them to him by October 20th. Depending on his inputs we hope to vote and have the results at the November meeting. Please support Larry and make his job a little easier by working to his deadline dates. 2 October Meeting Minutes by Bev Erickson The meeting was called to order at 6:40pm at Home Motors in Santa Maria. Those present were visitor Clay Beck, Barbara W. and Jim Herron (new members) Doug and Debbie Chase, Bev and Cliff Erickson, Chuck Jennings, John and Debbie Mahoney, Gerry White, Hector Paz and Gale Haugen. The September meeting minutes were approved by Chuck Jennings and seconded by Cliff Erickson. Gale introduced the new members Barbara W. and Jim Herron and welcomed them to the club. Treasurer Report Hector Paz gave the treasurer's report for September and passed out the report. He passed out two sheets. It was mainly about the annual event. We actually had an income on the annual event because of donations etc. He also passed out the operating budget. We still have inventory left over from the annual blast that can be resold. Hector Paz said the autocrosses are our main staple. The annual event was a great success. NCCC Governor Report John Mahoney gave the NCCC Report. There are 1972 members. On 27th Oct. Victorville is hosting a car show. November l7th is an autocross school, John will get phone number for the event. Rulebook changes we will not have to calculate mileage, stock car requirement, Jan 1 tracking, Oct. 15th Joe will start taking dates for next year events. National Convention highlights were discussed. Member attending voted to have three meetings next year. National October Meeting Minutes Cont d convention is in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Atlanta, Georgia is the venue for Regional dues are due for our club, which is $25. Dec. 15th is the deadline. We are at 37 entrees for our autocross Oct. 13. We are limited to 45. We must have our club membership due by Dec. 15th for renewals etc. This is in order to get the discount. June 28th, 29th, 30 is Big Bear and everything is on the Calendar, Gale said. John passed out sheets on Vegas event, for race track. We are currently in second place for our region points. General Business Vice President Chuck Jennings said there are some events on the same weekend as our autocross such as Grapes and Grains. Nov. 4th could be a social event for the Car Show at Nojoqui Falls and he will more information later. Monterey will also will be e- mailed. January 12th is the date set for installation of new officers. Nominations and voting will take place this month. Our annual Christmas party will be December 6th. It is not mandatory to bring car related gifts. The party will be a Adamos in Old Town Orcutt...same as last year. Chuck asked the members to send him pictures and bio information for the web page. Larry Wright will be sending out ballot for the officers asking for two names for each position. He will be announcing new officers at the November meeting. Birthday list was discussed as well...it will be updated. NCCC events for 2013 should be decided on in order to have a larger selection of dates. 2

John Mahoney: Cost of going to meetings will be tabled, lots of car stuff this month, annual event went really well. Bev Erickson: Made friends with a movie star this past weekend and his name is Slick Pierson and he has a Corvette and he starred in The Three Bad Men as the sheriff and he is currently working on another movie Oct. 15th. Sunshine Lady - Debbie Chase 50/50: Doug Chase Name Tag Drawing - Carli Griffin Door Prize: Barbara Walshans, new member. name tag prize. Gale opened up discussion on the Autocross for October 13th. She posted a schedule of workers on the internet for members after meeting. Things discussed were the Friday night set up, porta potties, members available, guard locations, etc. John had a check list. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10pm after all Autocross items were discussed. Next meeting will be November 1st at Marie Callender s in Pismo Beach. 3

4 NCCC West Coast Region Meeting Minutes The West Coast Region of the NCCC Governors meeting was held at Marie Calendar s located in Victorville, CA, on Saturday, September 29, Our membership numbers are up to 1,972 members. 3 rd highest in country!! Go West Coast!! November 17th, Vettes R Us will be putting on an Autocross School, along with an autocross session. TC McNett to provide details forthcoming. A motion was made to hold 3 Governor s meetings a year, starting in All were in favor. The 2013 National Convention is in Bowling Green, KY. At this time, it is not known if the plant will be open during the convention or not. All will be notified when this information if final. Cliff will be in charge of a road trip to the convention. The 2014 National Convention will be August th in Savanna, GA. Allen Morris announced that nominations for the new 2013 & 2014 West Coast Officers are in and that all current Officers will remain in their current positions. Appointed positions are for Secretary, Cindy accepted and Treasurer for which Ellis accepted. Our West Coast Regional Convention will be April 4-7, 2013 in Las Vegas at the Silverton Hotel!! 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion Chevrolet Corvette's 60th anniversary will be celebrated at the 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Chevrolet Corvette will be the featured marque next August at the 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, where historic race cars annually come to the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca 2013 Rolex Cont d track to relive the sights, sounds and smells of racing days gone by Corvette s recognition in Monterey, Calif., will come during its 60th anniversary model year, and a large contingent of Corvette racers is expected representing each of the car s six generations in competition. Corvette also was the featured marque in Corvettes and racing have been inextricably linked since the very moment Zora Arkus- Duntov slipped behind the wheel for the first time, said Chris Perry, Chevrolet global vice president of marketing. His spirit is felt in today s winning Corvette Racing program, which continues a proud legacy and one we re looking forward to celebrating next summer. The Corvette s racing heritage began in 1956, when a trio of Corvettes engineered under the Duntov s direction, competed in the 12-hour Sebring endurance racing. By 1960, Corvette was racing at Le Mans and in its first year at the French 24-hour classic, drivers John Fitch and Bob Grossman drove their Briggs Cunningham-prepared car to a first-place finish in the GT class. We look forward to working closely with the Corvette team on making next year s celebration a monumental one for Corvette racers, owners and automobile enthusiasts, said Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The Monterey Peninsula will rumble to life with Corvettes of every era. Corvette Racing has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans seven times, most recently in 2011 when the team edged out Ferrari.
