Remember October is the month we nominate officers and we vote in November. We are looking for good large turn- out s for both meetings. We look forward to the camping trip to Olema. We will also have our annual toy drive and downtown Christmas parade next month. We have started getting things together for this year s Christmas dinner. We are still looking for members to provide pictures and a brief history of their cars or projects for our newsletter. Please contact Brad if you have a story to tell. Encouragement cards were sent to the following members: Harvey Price had surgery on his ear due to cancer. The doctors did reconstruction on his earlobe. Talked with Edwina, due to the bandages he can not hear, other then that he is doing pretty well. Sue Lemmons and Claudette Dailey are pretty well. Peter and Lori La Dow are not doing well, Lori had back surgery, and Peter is just not feeling his best. Please let the above members know we care, by either a phone call or a nice encouragement card. 3 Hi, this is Bill and Jan Knudsen reporting. A little story about us and Autocrossing. Autocrossing is basically parking lot racing. You drive your car as fast as you can from point A to point B without hitting any pylons. If you hit a pylon, it adds time to your run and you do not want more time- you want less time. We have both won and lost a race by thousands of a second. We did this type of racing all over the western United States until going to the SCCA Nationals located in Topeka, Kansas in Jan became a SCCA National champion at that race. Our car- a 1970 Corvette LT-1 was highly modified with a 361 cubic inch small block Chevy motor, with 517 horsepower that ran only on race gas. This engine was built by L J s Speed Shop. We sold this Corvette to a person who wanted a National Winner Car so he could go do the same type of racing. Then we purchased our 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air that we are driving today. This is Jan- after a whirlwind romance (6-weeks!!!) Bill and I were married In November of I loved the 1967 Corvette Bill had purchased before we were married and loved driving a 4-speed. My very first race was at the famous Riverside Raceway located in Moreno Valley, CA. I won my first event and was hooked. We autocrossed that car and drag raced that car for many years. Bill and I owned and raced four different Corvettes during the years- and the 1970 Corvette was by far the most fun to race Corvette at Top Gun in Fallon NV.

5 BAY CITIES RACING ASS0CIATION HALL OF FAME Started in racing in 1958 working for Norm Rapp on his Midget. Learning all there was to know about setting up race cars for dirt and pavement. In 1962 a fellow Richard Walsh bought a Rail Framed Midget V8-60 powered and needed a driver, so he let me drive it so I could show him how to set it up. I had a real good year and was able to get a friend to go partners in a real good Kurtis V8-60 Midget. I did real good in it, winning the B -Car Championship in our 2nd year. We decided to buy a Top-Of-The-Line 110 Offie to run with the Hot-Dogs. Well we finished 15th out of 100 cars that first year and 6th in 1965 and 4th in Racing against many future Indy 500 stars. Our plan was to run back east for 2 months. If I could not finish in the top three, we were going to sell everything and I would find a ride in someone's else's car. After we sold our car I drove for others owners still racing around 50 times a year. Drivers I had raced against told B.C.R.A. I should be in the Hall of Fame which started in Dick Geide Wanted Sue Grimm is looking for a 2012 to 2014 Camry preferably with a V6 for her daughter.
