Abilene Christian will have a live video stream on ACUSports.com, available to fans on a pay-perview purchase. For all road games, Baylor will provide a live online radio stream for subscribers on BaylorBears. com/allaccess. Sunday s contest will be the fourth between Baylor and ACU, with the teams facing off each of the last three seasons. The Lady Bears and Wildcats have played twice in Waco and once in Abilene, with BU sweeping the previous three meetings. ACU was one of three teams traveling to Waco for the Baylor Invitational, with Incarnate Word and Jackson State also in the now-canceled tournament field. Baylor returns to Abilene for the second time, with its last trip coming on April 27, BU took a 15-3 (6) victory. In 2017, the Lady Bears took a 6-0 win over the Wildcats on March 29 in Waco. Gia Rodoni took the win in the circle, allowing just one hit and striking out six in 5.0 innings of work. Goose McGlaun closed out the final 2.0 shutout frames to finish off the win. The Baylor bats were led by Shelby Friudenberg (3-for-3, 4 RBI) and Jessie Scroggins (2-for-3, 2 R), spreading out 10 hits and six runs over the seven innings. Baylor returns nine letterwinners and seven position player starters from the 2017 squad that advanced to the program s fourth Women s College World Series. Baylor is riding a seven-game win streak, notching a three-game sweep over Northwestern State to open the season and a four-game sweep of the Southern Miss Black & Gold Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss., last weekend. The USM tournament weekend included wins over No. 24 McNeese State and No. 9/10 Alabama, solidfying BU s return to the Top 10 in the polls. Gia Rodoni picked up back-to-back Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors, named the conference s top pitcher in each of the first two weeks of the season. Jessie Scroggins picked up her first Big 12 Player of the Week nod after a stellar weekend at the plate, pacing the conference in batting average. 3 A WIN WOULD... Push Baylor s advantage in the series up to 4-0 and 5-0. Extend Baylor s winning streak up to nine games. Match the 2015 squad (9-0) as the second-best start to a season in program history, trailing only the 2011 team (14-0). LAST SEASON VS. ACU (BOX SCORES ON PG. 15) In 2017, the Lady Bears took a 6-0 win over the Wildcats on March 29 in Waco. MISSISSIPPI QUEENS The Lady Bears are fresh off a four-game sweep of the Southern Miss Black & Gold Invitational. The weekend was bookended by ranked wins over No. 24 McNeese State and No. 9 Alabama, adding to a strong early resume for the Lady Bears. BU also ran through Mississippi Valley State (14-1 in five) and Southern Miss (3-2) to keep an unblemished record through the first two weeks of the season. N0-NO BETTER WAY TO START THE SEASON Gia Rodoni spun her third-straight no-hitter in starts at Getterman Stadium, lifting Baylor to an 8-0, five-inning win over Northwestern State to open the 2018 season (2/9). Rodoni s no-hitter streak dates back to 2017 when she became the eighth pitcher in NCAA history to throw multiple no-hitters in the same NCAA Tournament. With 11 strikeouts, she also picked up the second double-digit strikeout game of her young career, entering just the second full year of competition after having her redshirt pulled halfway through her freshman season. WEEKEND ROTATION Pitching coach Britni Sneed Newman has at her disposal a rarity in collegiate softball -- a three-deep pitching rotation that is strong enough to start interchangeably over a weekend series. Gia Rodoni has taken a strong hold as the club ace, looking to continue at a historically high pace with one of the best win percentages and strikeout rates of any BU pitcher at the midpoint of their collegiate careers. Competition breeds excellence, and there will be plenty of competition for the second spot in the BU rotation. Goose McGlaun and Mississippi State transfer Regan Green will both push for time in the circle, with Green taking the lead in the opening weekend as the No. 2 starter. McGlaun worked the only 7.0 inning complete game of the opening weekend of 2018, closing out the three-game sweep of Northwestern State with a 4-1 win. STAFF CONSISTENCY Glenn Moore, Mark Lumley, and Britni Sneed Newman are entering their 15th season together as a complete, three-person coaching unit. 15 years ties as the fourth-longest tenure in all of Division I softball, trailing only Michigan for the longest tenure among Power 5 conference schools. PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THE WCWS Baylor s four appearances in the Women s College World Series places the Lady Bears tied for third all-time among private schools. The Lady Bears are the only private school to make the WCWS since 2008, doing so three times over that period (2011, 2014, 2017). Since 2000, Baylor leads all private schools with four appearances, with the next closest school being DePaul with three. MOST WCWS APPEARANCES BY PRIVATE SCHOOLS School # Years 1. THE STATE OF LOUISIANA Baylor continued its streak of dominance over opponents from Louisiana, sweeping a three-game series with Northwestern State to open the 2018 season. In 2017, the Lady Bears went 5-0 against Louisianian opponents, sweeping a home doubleheader with McNeese State (2/22), before going 3-0 on a road swing that included a doubleheader with the Lady Demons (3/8) and a big win over No. 18 Louisiana-Lafayette (3/9). Over the last three seasons, the Lady Bears are 16-2 against Louisiana schools. MILESTONES FOR MOORE Glenn Moore notched his 700th win at Baylor in the final game of the Tucson Super Regional, punching Baylor s ticket into the Women s College World Series (5/28/17) Moore s 800th career win came with a 9-3 win over McNeese State in Waco (2/22/17). All but one of his 100-win milestones have come at Baylor, with his first 100th game coming during his tenure at LSU with a 6-5 win over Auburn (3/17/00). HITTING THE LID OFF THE RECORD BOOKS Under the direction of associate head coach Mark Lumley, the Lady Bears have tied or broken the team batting average program record each of the last two seasons. Baylor players have posted the three highest batting averages in program history over the last two seasons. Kyla Walker (.418, 2017;.415, 2016) and Lindsey Cargill (.430, 2017) battled for the top spot in 2017, with Cargill leaving her BU career as the program s career hits leader and Walker setting a new high mark for singleseason hits. FRIUDENBOMBS AWAY Shelby Friudenberg is poised to finish her time at Baylor with a number of the program s all-time batting records. She is... 5 home runs away from breaking Chelsi Lake s decade-plus record of 41 ( ). 29 RBI away from breaking Lake s RBI record of total bases away from Lake s total base record of 415. BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK NO-NO S Coming off a historic performance in the 2017 NCAA Tournament, Gia Rodoni kept the good times rolling, throwing a third-straight no-hitter in home starts, blanking Northwestern State for an 8-0, five-inning win on Opening Day (2/9). In 2017, Gia Rodoni became the eighth player in NCAA Softball history to throw two no-hitters in the same NCAA Tournament. She posted back-to-back no-hitters over Kent State (5/19/17) and No. 12 JMU (5/21/17), with JMU entering the game as the nation s top hitting offense. She is the first BU pitcher to spin a no-hitter in the postseason and the first to do so in back-to-back starts. POLL WATCH FOR BU IN THE TOP 25 The Lady Bears opened the season as the No. 10 ranked team in the Coaches poll, starting the year in the top 10 for the fifth time in program history (2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2018). The Lady Bears have started the season ranked for the seventh-straight season and the 12th time in program history, all coming under 18th year head coach Glenn Moore. 4 BAYLORBEARS.COM

5 GOOD TO BE HOME Baylor is in its 19th full season of play at Getterman Stadium, with the Lady Bears securing a winning record in each full competition season since its doors were opened in Named for Sue and the late Ted Getterman, the stadium is considered one of the most premier softball venues in the nation. At the time, their donation stood as the largest single donation ever to a Baylor women s athletics program. When President George W. Bush visited the Western White House in nearby Crawford, Texas, during the summer months of his presidency, members of his staff and Secret Service agents often used Getterman Stadium for pick-up games. The Lady Bears set a new program record for home winning percentage in 2017, going 27-2 with a home win mark of.931. BAYLOR IN THE RANKINGS WEEK W/L COACHES ESPN Preseason (530) 12 (306) Week (490) 12 (306) Week (565) 10 (332) WHAT S IN A NAME... Goose McGlaun has opted to drop her given name, Shelby, and stick to only her childhood nickname, given to her by her parents. Her parents read her a bedtime book called Goodnight, Goose and the name has stuck ever since. SOME NUMBER THAT I USED TO KNOW Three sophomore Lady Bears opted to change their numbers for the 2018 campaign. Taylor Ellis moved from No. 3 to No. 10, taking the number previously worn by Abby Langkamp. Goose McGlaun chose No. 34 from No. 24, just the third person in program history to wear the number and the first since 2001 (Colleen Bordages). Maddison Kettler jumped from No. 4 to No. 55, the first Lady Bear to ever wear that number. The number changes were made possible, in part, by the athletic department s transition into an exclusive apparel deal with Nike. INSTANT IMPACT Three SEC transfers will provide an immediate boost for the Lady Bears in Carlee Wallace from Auburn will provide a huge lift behind the plate, coming off a season where she was third in the nation in doubles (20), and in the Top 10 of the SEC in on base percentage, RBI/game, slugging percentage, total bases, and walks per game. Regan Green from Mississippi State gives pitching coach Britni Sneed Newman a spoil of riches in the bullpen, bringing a career sub ERA over her two seasons in Starkville. Nicky Dawson from LSU gives the Lady Bears a plug-and-play option at second base, with Dawson capable of replacing four-year starter Ari Hawkins at second base from day one.
