4 Page 4 of 12 Enquiry No: on: 25/04/ :13 Service: Carriageway Subject: Ironworks Classification: Request for service Desc.: there is a square manhole cover that bangs when cars go over it and its very loud and right on the tyre line so you cant swerve round it without going into the opposite lane. Location: opposite the church lane junction , Job Number: Enquiry No: on: 08/04/ :43 Service: Carriageway Subject: Ironworks Classification: Request for service Desc.: Yet again, the manhole cover has come loose. It is now bouncing up and down and has a large void by the side. This is in a braking zone by the side of church lane and is a danger to cyclists and motorcyclists. This was reported in July 2012 and eventually fixed, in July 2013 and eventually fixed. It is now happening again. Fundamentally it has been set the wrong way round (in the direction of traffic flow) and the ground around it is collapsing collapsing. This needs fixing properly, setting the right way round and with proper compaction and re-surfacing. It is a hazard and if not fixed may result in an accident and s potentially serious injury - it also happens to be extremely noisy. Location: Handcross Road, Horsham, West Sussex RH13 6NU, UK Enquiry No: on: 08/04/ :40 Service: Carriageway Subject: Ironworks Classification: Request for service Desc.: Yet again, the manhole cover has come loose. Also the frame has now become lose. Caller did state it was on Handcross Lane but on GIS it comes up as Sandygate Lane. Location: At the junction with Church Lane , Job Number: Defect Number: Enquiry No: on: 09/03/ :53 Service: Footways and Cycleways Subject: Condition Classification: Request for service Desc.: Lower Beeding Parish Council wish to report a number of relatively minor pavement/roadside/highways issues in LB Parish which nevertheless need fairly urgent attention i.e. 1. Monks Gate to Lower Beeding Footpath. This has been deteriorating over several Winters and is now severely obstructed by trees and bushes. It is a very well used pathway and clearance is needed. Please refer to attached photographs. 2. Similarly, the pavement which runs beside the B2110 Handcross Road and the stretch from Church Lane towards the Haven Garage is down to about 2 feet of visible termac in places. 3. The dolly posts (roadside verge markers) need replacing where Leechpond Hill meets the A281 close to Leonardslee entrance. It would seem sensible for these to be replaced ASAP, as they have been 'taken out' one by one over a period of time and that stretch is very dark. They do give motorists a fair warning that the road is coming to an end! 4. From the Plough Public House down the hill for about 25 yards, there are/were 4 large metal posts with various signs attached to them. The post farthest from the pub was very rusty and has now snapped in two leaving the remaining length of post with 4 signs attached to it on the grass next to the hedge. 5. Handcross Road. Just outside the entrance to the Church Car Park, is another pole with 2 signs attached and, again, this pole is very rusty and likely to snap at any moment. 6. Sandygate Lane. Close to Prongers Cottage garden fence, next to the field, another big directional sign to Cowfold and Horsham has fallen to the bottom of the 2 supporting poles and is now at ground level. Location: Lower Beeding
