Athletes with disabilities will be welcome but must advise the promoters of the competition of any special needs. 5 Runner s Instructions The Rotary Club of Hornsea and East Riding Hornsea 1/3 rd Marathon & Junior Race Sunday 3 rd April 2011 Getting there Race HQ is the barn, Densholme Farm, Great Hatfield, East Yorkshire, HU11 4UR. See map overleaf Facilities & Number Collection Collect your number from Registration at least 30 minutes before start of race Hot and Cold Refreshments will be available from 9:30 am Portable toilets are available on site. No changing or showers are available. Parking Parking is at Densholme Farm off-road in a paddock. This will be signposted from all approaches. Follow the instruction of the marshals. Please do not park on the local roads and lanes. Junior Athletes Race This race is mainly off road on a disused railway line. It is about 2.4 miles long. Maximum age is 16 years Runners under 18 have to obtain approval of parent or guardian. Start time is 10am BST (British Summer Time) Congregate at 9:50 am at the barn at Densholme farm from were you will be taken down to the start, or make your way to the line for a prompt start Follow instructions of the marshals at all times. Each finisher will receive a T Shirt. Results will be posted with the 1/3 rd Marathon results on the internet, see below. 1/3 rd Marathon The route is one lap of rural roads and lanes through Goxhill, Sigglesthorne and Little Hatfield. See Map overleaf All runners must keep LEFT and follow the instructions of the marshals at all times. Each mile will be marked. The route will be fully marshalled with a lead pilot on a bike and a sweep up vehicle behind. A medical back-up team is available. Start time is 11am BST One water station will be on route at about half way and water will be available at the finish, or in race HQ.
