The tral provdes, vews of the Matanuska Rver and the Chugach Mountan range to the south. passng through large stands of cottonwood, brch and spruce. The Greenbelt are loops of trals between the Palmer-Waslla Hghway, the Glenn Hghway, Parks Hghway, and Trunk Road. There s four land owners collaboratng: the MatanuskaSustna Borough, Unversty of Alaska-MatSu College, Unversty of Alaska FarbanksExperment Farm, and the State-Matanuska Lakes State Recreaton Area. Wth a fantastc combnaton of tght & twsty sngletrack, ǡ ǡ Ƥ backdrop of the surroundng mountans ths s the perfect place to rde for an hour or an entre weekend, all wthn a few mles of Palmer or Waslla. 30+ mles of trals BROWN BEAR Travel n groups; make nose to avod surprsng a bear. Never approach cubs. Mother bears wll aggressvely protect them. Put your bke between you and the bear. NEVER turn and run from a bear; t may chase. Avod bad-smellng areas. Move closer to frends. A bear may get close, crcle around, or nvestgate. Talk calmly then leave slowly. If t follows, stop movng and call for help. If t attacks, play dead untl t leaves. It s tryng to remove the threat.
