2 Registration/Entry Fee (to be enclosed with completed form when returned, Cheque made payable to Melanie Dowling) Minimum Sponsorship to be collected and paid 1 week before the ride Payment of sponsorship money either by:- 1. Cash given to Melanie Dowling in person by prior agreement and receipt will be handed over at the time (mob / painttheplantationpink@manx.net) All Registration monies and sponsorship raised will be independently checked before advising of total amount raised and shared between the four charities. Sponsorship monies for Manx Breast Cancer Support Group will be handed to a representative of the Charity. Sponsorship monies for Breast Cancer Care, Jo s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action will all be sent to Action for charity ( via the organisers (aka Mel Dowling) justgiving page (found under the heading Melanie s 450km Cycle challenge under as part of funds being raised for Women V Cancer November 2016 Vietnam to Cambodia cycle challenge which she is taking part in by cycling 450km over 6 hard, hot, gruelling days. All funds raised will be going direct to the charities as any travel and hotel costs are being covered by herself) Declaration I understand that I have to adhere to the Rules and Regulations that are set by the organiser of Paint the Plantation Pink sponsored bike ride, details listed on Page 3 & 4. I accept full liability for loss, damage to property/personal belongings. I further accept liability of any injury to myself on the sponsored bike ride while signed in or signed off the ride. In the unlikely event of needing Medical attention, I authorise the organiser to provide appropriate assistance. 3 Rules, Regulations and information The first Rule is to all have FUN please! Each lap is approx. 2.7 miles (just under 4.5km) and consists of the Fire track around Archallagan Plantation. The start will be from the main Car Park up the track to the furthest corner (Eairy Kelly Road) but also more parking in one of the other two ( just up from the first corner or the one directly off the straight Ballavar road), and ride to the start. Most of the terrain is either flat, moderate up hills and moderate down hills with a long steep up hill at the end. This is meant to be fun so don t worry if you end up walking up the last hill as its not a timed race, just the laps are counted. You can do your sponsored laps during any time between the hours of 12 noon and 12 midnight on Saturday 5 th September 2015, so you can arrive at any time within those 12 hours to sign in and start and not just at 12 noon. But the event organiser may contact you prior to the event to ask approximate time of arrival to gauge busy and quiet times and staff appropriately. A cycling helmet must be worn at all times during the sponsored laps and while on your bike. Your bike must be in good working order and should be checked over before starting. Each rider will sign in on arrival and will be given a timing chip which will be specifically registered under their name and each lap counted will be updated live via the Cloud so anyone can log on to see how you are doing and how many laps you have done. These chips are issued by Manx Timing Solutions and must be handed in after you have completed all laps. In order for laps to be counted, riders must cross the timing mats every time a lap has been completed. A reminder on use will be given once you sign in on the day. When you finish your laps please sign out on the Register and give back your timing tag. If you wish to take a break in between laps and have a social ride then still sign out (keep your tag but don t go over the lap counting mat) and then sign back in again when you are ready to do more laps. This way we can monitor who is still active at any one time (and send a search party for anyone missing for any length of time) This event is for all types of riders so please don t be put off if you haven t ridden for quite a few years, there will be lots of others in the same situation as you. And if you are an experienced rider please also don t be put off with the easy course, as its meant to be a fun event, so come and have fun. Page 3

4 To make it interesting for those who would like to explore the inner trails of the Plantation, there will hopefully be some volunteers who will lead expeditions on some colour dot trails with a leader and someone at the back, so no one gets lost or left behind. To go on these you must be signed out from the event and will be totally responsible for yourself. Then sign back in once you would like to do more sponsored laps. These will be leaving at certain times during the 12 hours and will be posted on the Facebook page a few weeks in advance. A Toilet and bins will be available for the full 12 hours and will be situated in the Main Car Park, so please use them. Riders who are riding their bikes have the right of way over those who are pushing their bikes. Where practicable riders pushing should stay on the least rideable portion of the path when being passed. Riders are encouraged to call pleasantly passing on the right or left as appropriate. Safety on the course is very important and all riders are asked, as common courtesy, to watch over other riders when passing and offer assistance if they look like they need help. We will have people monitoring the course but at that particular time there might not be anyone near. The Plantation and Fire Track is not closed to the public. Notices will be posted in the Plantation a while before the event to warn anyone before the day, but please use trail etiquette when riding. Front and rear lights must be used during the darker hours. Pink illuminated items will be dotted along the course but more for fun rather than lighting up the way. It may be a good idea to carry a phone with you, especially if you are riding by yourself. All names listed on the Sponsorship forms will be entered into a prize draw to win a number of prizes.
