This is the 1 st Continental Dragon Boat Championships to be held in the Americas. The Pan American Club Crew Championships (PACCC) will be held on the Seddon Channel Regatta Course in Downtown Tampa. Soon after, Tampa will host the 10 th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships on the Seddon Channel Regatta Course 3-7 August 2011! Our hotels are more than 60% booked. There are still plenty of rooms at great rates available to all of the paddlers and their supporters. Some paddlers are planning to stick around for the whole week to participate, volunteer and just watch the 10 th IDBF World Dragon Boat Racing Championships 2-7 August 2011! Please make your reservations no later than 23 June 2011 to ensure the Housing Bureau is able to accommodate all of your team s requests. ACCOMMODATION The Organizing Committee has secured for the PACCC the same hotel packages that have been made available for the World Dragon Boat Racing Championships, the week following PACCC. The prices range from USD to USD per night including breakfast and 12% tax. Lower rates for most hotel properties are available without breakfast. The only method of booking hotel rooms is through the World Championship Housing Bureau online. TRANSPORTATION: Transportation to and from the Official Hotels is not needed, as all are within walking distance. The furthest properties at 1.4 km (1 mile) from the Venue have complimentary shuttle services available. Transfers from and to Tampa International Airport, can be arranged through Tampa Transport from Orlando Airport can also be arranged at an additional cost. Teams must request their transportation bookings and provide arrival and departure information no later than 4 July Please see Appendix 1 for scheduling worksheet. 3. LUNCH PACKAGE: A boxed lunch is available to competitors at a cost of USD 10.00, per person, per day. All Lunches must be pre-booked and paid for by the closing date for Named Entries on 13 July Please see Appendix 2 for booking worksheet. 4. ADMINISTRATION FEE: The Championship Administration fee all for Teams, including Official Supporters, will be USD per person. All fees must be paid with the Final Named Entries on 13 July IDBF REGISTRATION FEE: A PADBF/IDBF Registration Fee of USD 15.00, per person, will be payable directly to the IDBF in respect of every participant attending the Pan American Club Crew Championships. 5 IDBF Bye-Laws EXTRACTS FROM THE IDBF BYE-LAWS AND COMPETITION REGULATIONS CONCERNING CLUB CREWS 3.10 (1.7) Championships Races (National Championships excepted) may be held for either Representative Crews or Club Crews, as defined in this Bye-Law. Championship Races shall be conducted under IDBF Competition Regulations and Rules of Racing. Championship races are considered by the IDBF to be Sport Racing events as defined in Bye-Law (1.8.2) Representative Crew Races, are races organised specifically for crews that have been selected to represent their country or territory by an IDBF controlling association or a member of a Continental or Regional Federation (1.8.1) Club Crew Races, are International Races organised or sanctioned by the IDBF and its Members, or other organisations, for crews that are not representing a country or territory. By definition crews that are not selected on a national or territorial basis are Club Crews. IDBF Members may only send crews representing their own Clubs, to Club Crew Races (12.4 / 12.7) Dragon Boat Clubs. A Dragon Boat Club is defined as being a single Crew or group of Crews which have a formal Sports Club Constitution which, in general terms, shows that the Club s individual members are responsible for the Club s affairs; that they elect representatives to their governing Dragon Boat organisation; that they elect Club Officers and Officials to manage the affairs of their Club; that the Club keeps properly maintained and controlled accounts; that the Aims and Objectives of the Club and its Constitution or Statutes, are consistent with those of their own governing Dragon Boat Association, where one exists and where appropriate, the IDBF. Note: For the first PanAm Championships this is relaxed to a single Dragon Boat Crew or group of crews registered with or recognised by an IDBF Member Dragon Boat Organisation IDBF Competition Regulations 4.3 Club Crews. In IDBF Championships for Club Crews a Racer can only represent one Dragon Boat Crew. The rules for National Crew Representation need not apply but all competitors must have been bona fide members of the Dragon Boat Crew that they represent, for at least SIX (6) months (Nov 06) before the Club Crew Championships in question. Note: For the first PanAm Championships this is relaxed to 4 months A bona fide Club Member is one that has regularly trained and/or competed for the Club Crew that they represent during the minimum period of six months shown in 4.3. (4 months for PanAms) A bona fide Club Member will normally be resident in the Country in which the Club Crew is located. A Club Member who trains and competes with a Club Crew from a different Country or Territory or a geographical Region within a Country to the one in which the Club Member himself (or herself) is normally domiciled, will only be considered as a bona fide Club Member if they can prove that they have physically attended their Club to train or compete for a period or of at least twelve (12) weeks, over a minimum period of two (2) racing seasons.
