1 FRANKLIN BASEBALL LEAGUE TEXAS RANGERS NEWSLETTER (10 League) TANNER BURRIS, #11 Tanner was born in Nashville, TN in August of We moved to Knoxville in 2003, which is where Tanner began to play baseball at the age of five. We moved back to Franklin in Tanner and his 7 year old sister Gracelyn, who is the singer and dancer in the group, both attend Liberty Elementary School. Tanner loves all sports but has focused on baseball, basketball and soccer so far. When not on the ball fields, Tanner loves playing Yu-Gi-Oh!, the Wii and riding his bicycle. Tanner s mom, Jolie works from home as a website tester and enjoys being the room mother for both kids at school. Tanner s dad, Paul, is a CPA at Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain in Brentwood, TN and primarily works on the corporate taxes. jolieburris@hotmail.com & pburris@lbmc.com MARCUS WEST, #8 Marcus was born in Los Gatos, California and moved to Orange County when he was 1 year old, then to the Nashville, TN. About 3 years ago. Marcus attends school at Trinity, and his hobbies include video games, swimming, and watching the Discovery channel. Marcus has an older sister (12), two younger brothers age 4, and 7, and a baby sister age 1.

2 ELI KATINA,, #13 Eli was born in Nashville, TN., and moved to Franklin 8 years ago. He attends Winstead Elementary and he will be moving onto Page Middle School this next coming school year. Eli is a warrior at heart. He loves to play football, air soft and call of duty, and he also loves to sing and write songs. Eli also plays the guitar mostly, but also plays the drums and piano. He also loves to hang out with all of his cousins (17) in all. Eli has an older brother Josh, who will be a freshman at Centennial next school year. His dad Joe is a drummer who has been in music ministry for 21 years. Joe and his four brothers travel internationally and locally ministering through music. His mom Lori, is a cosmetologist and stay at home mom. LUKE ZORICH, #4 Born in Cleveland, Ohio Luke moved to Franklin, TN. in August 2007 and immediately joined the Franklin Baseball Club in the fall. Luke attends Hillsboro Elementary and Middle school in Leipers Fork. Luke loves baseball and basketball (Go Cavs). He also plays drums and recently took up bass guitar. Luke has 3 sisters Frankie (16), Toni (14) and Joey (9). Luke s mom, Lisa has a passion for food and cooking, she is becoming known around town the Hot Pepper Jelly lady as she has a product called Diavalo Luke s Hot Pepper Jelly with Luke s photo on the label. 3 RYAN NEWBY, #12 Ryan was born in Washington DC in October of We moved to Florida shortly thereafter and spent about 4 years living in the Sunshine State. After doing a little research and learning about the hidden jewel of Franklin, we decided to make the move in May of Ryan and his 7 year old sister Christiana both attend Winstead Elementary School. Ryan loves all sports but has focused on baseball, basketball and football so far. When not on the ball fields, Ryan loves to be outside with his friends playing air-soft, rollerblading and exploring the local creeks. Ryan s mom, Ana was born in Brazil and works part time at Independence High School. Ryan s dad, Brock, is a Regional Sales Manager in the Legal Publishing Industry. Bnewby16@aol.com Anac8@aol.com JOEL BLACKMAN, #2 Joel is originally from Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. He has one older brother, Sam, and two younger sisters, Maggie, and Abigail. Being 10 years old, and in the 4th grade, Joel and his other siblings are home schooled. As well as loving the game of baseball, he enjoys running, playing LaCrosse, and is on his way to becoming an accomplished acoustic guitar player. After living in Georgia, the Blackmon family moved to Seattle, Washington in 2003, then to Chattanooga, Tennessee in Having moved most recently to Franklin in August of 2009, Joel's dad, Troy, began a business in the Nashville area called the C12 Group. Shanna, his mother, enjoys home schooling the four children ranging in ages from 5-12 years old.

4 BRENT PERRY, #10 Brent was born in FRANKLIN, TN. And is home schooled/shanan CO-OP. He is interested in anything athletic, and video games. Brent is the youngest of 4, BRADLEY is 19, BROOKE is 16, BLAKE is 13, and BRENT is 10. Brent s dad, Eddy is a District Director for LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN STORES, Jill is a HOMESCHOOL TEACHER HOME & CO-OP CLASSES) and writes Bible Study curriculum. EDDY & JILL ARE ORIGINALLY FROM TEXAS, SO WE ARE THRILLED TO BE ON THE RANGERS TEAM THIS SEASON! OUR FAMILY HAS ALSO LIVED IN FLORIDA, MARYLAND, AND MISSISSIPPI, BUT HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO CALL FRANKLIN HOME FOR 12 YEARS. JACK WOODS, #5 Jack is originally from Knoxville, but has lived in Franklin for six years. He's an honor student in the 3rd grade at Winstead Elementary. Jack's favorite activity is baseball, but he plays basketball as well. He also is a history buff. Jack has one sister, Rachel, who is a freshman at CHS. Both of his parents are attorneys- his dad works for an insurance agency that issues medical malpractice insurance to doctors, and his mom works on a part-time contract basis. Jack's sister is an actor, and Jack was in "Hannah Montana- the Movie" and the first Percy Jackson movie as a background performer. He got to go to the Hannah Montana movie premiere in Los Angeles and escorted his sister on the red carpet.

5 RYAN CANNON, #1 Ryan was born in Nashville, TN. And currently goes to school 3 rd grader at Trinity Elementary. In addition to baseball, Ryan participates on his neighborhood swim team. He also enjoys reading, drawing, riding his bike, and skateboarding. Ryan has 5 year old twin brothers and a 10 year old Golden Retriever. Ryan s favorite baseball player is Albert Pujols and his favorite sports teams include the St Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Tennessee Titans, and Tennessee Vols. LUKE AKRIDGE, #7 Luke is originally from Eddyville, KY, western part of the state, Luke lived in Greenville, SC, from 2006 through Luke s family relocated to Brentwood in July, Luke is a 3 rd grader at Crockett Elementary. Luke enjoys both baseball and basketball; recently started playing the piano; big reader currently in the Harry Potter series, and loves all video games. He is also a huge Murray State Racer fan, UK fan, and Reds fan. Luke has a 5 th grade brother, Bryce, who plays with the Twins in the Majors, and a 2 nd grade sister, Elise, who actually does love watching baseball and she plays basketball Dad, Lance, works for Upward Sports, and mom, Andrea, is a full-time mom and worked part-time as a speech therapist in Greenville. 6 CARLOS ESCALANTE, #6 Carlos is originally from Glendale, Arizona, and moved here in February of Carlos attends Winstead Elementary and will be going to Page Middle School next year. His interests include baseball, football, basketball, and he enjoys music and likes to play his Wii. Carlos has 1 brother (Nathan). Carlos s parents are Luis and Esther Escalante.
