Brothers of Section C-2, I hope each of you are enjoying this season as much as I am.

However, with the leaves now fallen, the wind becoming bone chilling, and the freezing rain and snow falling, there is one thing certain; we need to stay warm this Winter!

Our January Council of Chiefs meeting will be January 23-24th at Camp Rotary in Clare, Michigan.

1 Brothers of Section C-2, I hope each of you are enjoying this season as much as I am. For each of us, school is stressful as usual, work is nonstop, and Scouting activities are starting to "cool down" with our time of year. However, with the leaves now fallen, the wind becoming bone chilling, and the freezing rain and snow falling, there is one thing certain; we need to stay warm this Winter! And what better way of staying warm than participating in warm fellowship with your brothers at our January Council of Chiefs (COC)! Our January Council of Chiefs meeting will be January 23-24th at Camp Rotary in Clare, Michigan. If you are a member of Agaming Maangogwan and this date and location is familiar, that is because the COC shares the same date and location as your Winter Banquet! Members of Nataepu Shohpe, Kishahtek, and Noquet feel free to join Agaming Maangogwan and your brothers in the Section! It will be a weekend of fun, friendship, and fellowship. You may arrive at 6PM on Friday night, just in time to unpack, meet some Section leaders, and join us in at Buccilli's Pizza for a late dinner. We will be arriving at Buccilli's Pizza at 9PM. Following our night of fellowship, we will rest in the luxurious Doan Center of Camp Rotary, awake, and eat breakfast with Agaming Maangogwan lodge. Directly following the meal, we will hold a training on the new Brotherhood Ceremony, basics on American Indian Dance and Drum, and other ceremonial-based trainings. This is our American Indian Activities based Council of Chiefs, after all! So, if you are a ceremonialist in your lodge or chapter, or if you have an interest in those activities, this is the event for you! Every participant will even receive an event patch afterwards to wear on their uniform! You may be asking, "what is the cost?" Fortunate for COC attendees, it is only $15 for the night at Rotary, breakfast, and lunch with the lodge (including the patch)! So, make sure to register for the event. Section c-2 wins the Central Region Cup at S.O.S. At the beginning of the Section Officers Seminar weekend, our theme was set and solidified, as we pledged to become "Change Agents.

3 Section c-2 wins the Central Region Cup at S.O.S. At the beginning of the Section Officers Seminar weekend, our theme was set and solidified, as we pledged to become "Change Agents." A trophy was re-introduced to the group after a year of it's dwelling in the deep dark depths of Ohio. It was something we didn't know existed, the Central Region Cup. Being a Change Agent means that we introduce new ideas, search outside the box for solutions, empower others to lead with us, and raise the bar. Personally, I would like to believe that we are beginning to change the way the Section operates. We are changing the culture, offering more opportunities, and giving more support to you, the lodge leaders. When it came down to announcing the victor of the Central Region Cup, Ricky talked about how the Region looked at JTE, Conclave spirit, Conclave Program, and a few other items in the winning Section. He said that there was one Section; one Section which was paving the way, exemplifying what a "Change Agent" is. And we, as a Section, are better off with our support on one another, developing these ideas together. The cup wasn't just awarded to the Section. It was awarded to you, your Chapter Chief, your Chapter Cub Ceremonies Chairman, your Lodge Officers, your Lodge Advisers, our Section COC, you, and our COC. We earned this award and we will be bringing it with us into this 100th year, to NOAC, and next year's SOS! Ricky slowly said with a grin, "The Region Cup goes to... Section... C...2!" Thank you for all you do. YOU help change lives, YOU help set the pace, and WE won this award!

With this year being the 100th Anniversary of the Order of the Arrow, several things will be taking place to make this year special. One of these things is the ArrowTour!

4 With this year being the 100th Anniversary of the Order of the Arrow, several things will be taking place to make this year special. One of these things is the ArrowTour! To commemorate the organization s 100th anniversary, the Order of the Arrow will host three national programs during a year-long celebration in Section chiefs, members of the national Order of the Arrow committee and other key support staff spent most of their time at the 2013 National Planning Meeting in Dallas laying the framework for ArrowTour, a national lodge visitation roadshow, and a national One Day of Service. Both will be executed in 2015 alongside the National Order of the Arrow Conference. ArrowTour is different than any program the OA has ever hosted. Section chiefs in each region are responsible for planning and executing a roving exhibit that will move around the region during the summer of 2015 and visit as many Scouts as possible. Each region s tour will include a consistent program that has been planned by section chiefs at the National Planning Meeting. Stops during Arrow- Tour will incorporate help from local lodges and councils and will be tailored to meet their needs. At the end of the summer, the four tour vans will convene at Michigan State University for the 2015 National Order of the Arrow Conference. National Chief Nick Dannemiller and National Vice Chief Taylor Bobrow will serve as the national youth leadership for the ArrowTour project. Assisting them are the four region chiefs who will be responsible for executing the project in each region. Youth leads were elected at the National Planning Meeting to plan and execute ArrowTour, specifically program, staffing, and marketing/public relations. Two section chiefs were also elected to serve as youth leads for the One Day of Service and the 100th Anniversary Commemoration. The ArrowTour bus is planning on stopping at Gerber Scout Reservation on July 28th. So, make sure to save the date! Don t miss out on this once-in-alifetime experience!
