Under 8yrs Class yrs Class yrs Class yrs 16 Jazz Adjudicator Tap Adjudicator ADJUDICATOR PROFILES ANDREA WIGG Andrea is an experienced Melbourne based teacher, choreographer and adjudicator. She was trained in country Victoria in the disciplines of classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and musical theatre. After completing a Bachelor of Arts at Monash University, she performed professionally for many years in various productions including many seasons as a dancer with the Victorian State Opera, in commercial productions, floorshows and numerous television and sporting events. Andrea was Tony Bartuccioʼs choreographic assistant for many years working on productions such as In Melbourne Tonight (GTV 9), The Footy Show (GTV 9), Australian Film Industry awards working with Hugh Jackman, Dancing with the Stars (Channel 7), and many corporate, film and television events. She was a member of Alana Scanlan s Black Money dance group performing around the country in many corporate and fashion events. Andrea is a freelance choreographer and teacher having spent many years as a senior teacher at Bartuccioʼs Full time performing arts centre in Melbourne, and has taught for many well respected schools including Christine Walsh, Anna Veretennekova and Jane Moore. She has vast experience in the world of dance eisteddfods, having been a competitor, a teacher, an adjudicator and a mother, the last of these being the most difficult role in her opinion!! She has adjudicated at over 40 eisteddfods Australia wide. She now juggles all things dance with being a mum to her three young daughters. AMANDA-JANE PICKSTONE Miss Amanda Jane Pickstone is a professionally experienced and qualified dancer, teacher, choreographer and adjudicator within the creative and performing arts world. At the young age of 2 she began her training at Carol Murray s School ofdancing and Performing Arts in Sydney. She continued her tuition there for 20 years. In this time she obtained both Honoursand High Distinction qualifications within all grades of the British Australasia Limited syllabus. This was for the dance genresof Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Character and Irish. In 2002, Amanda successfully achieved her Major and Minor Tap Seal teacher certificates. Amanda also had a passion and flair for Drama and Singing and at the age of 10 she pursued singing and drama lessons. She has had the opportunity to perform and work with amazing professionals such as: DavidAtkins, Jason Coleman, Adam Garcia, Dein Perry and the Tap Dogs. Amanda has also performed internationally in Disneyland USA and Disneyland Paris. Whilst on tour she took part in several dance courses at STEPS on Broadway in New York City and continued her tuition for 6 months at the prestigious EDGE Dance Academy in Los Angeles, California. Amanda has a great passion for Musical theatre and at her youthful age of 29 she has already encompassed many theatrical characters. Some include Munchkin Didi in The Wiz, Chucky the scaredy cat toddler from the hit television show RugRats Miss Pickstone is also an ex student of Mr Glenn Wood, and is now a senior registered and qualified Tap teacher in the dance world for Mr Wood s Tap syllabus. Amanda is currently teaching and choreographing in several genres of dance at two dance schools in Sydney, whilst encompassing the role of the choreographer and dance captain for the University of Western Sydney s Musical Theatre Company!!! 1

4 2 Amanda has been adjudicating for the past five years all throughout Australia, travelling Everywhere from Australia s musical theatre capital Melbourne, to the country music capital of Tamworth. Finally, Amanda has just finished playing the role of Honey in the latest PMCC production of Avenue Q. In 2013 she also had the great privilege of being a co-choreographer for the 30 years celebration of Schools Spectacular. This was aired at primetime on Channel 9 in November. Ballet adjudicator VICKI ATTARD Vicki Attard comes from Mackay, Queensland, where she studied ballet with Dawn Armstrong and Betty Meskell before her acceptance into The Australian Ballet School. In 1985 she joined The Australian Ballet and was promoted to Coryphee in 1987, Soloiste in 1991, Senior Artiste in 1992 and Principal Artiste in She joined Sydney Dance Company for its 1989 season and rejoined The Australian Ballet in Vicki performed all principal roles and many and varied leading roles during her 15 year career with the Australian Ballet. Vicki created the role of Cio Cio San in the world premiere of Stanton Welch s Madame Butterfly in 1995, the same year she won the James & Diana Ramsay Scholarship which enabled her to study in Copenhagen, London and Netherlands. Highlights of Vicki s career included dancing Kitri on the opening night of the Washington season, the title role of Manon in Tokyo and the opening and all subsequent performances of Cio Cio San in Madame Butterfly for the New York season. Other major Australian Ballet tours included London, Greece, Italy, China and Russia. Vicki retired at the end of 1999, and immediately undertook and received a Graduate Diploma in Dance Instruction. Vicki began teaching Australia-wide in 2000/2001, and was awarded the coveted Green Room Award for Best Female Performer. Vicki was also involved in the Dancers Company Tours for 2000/2001, in the role of Ballet Mistress. The Dancers Company is formed utilising the graduating year of students at The Australian Ballet School, and performs as the touring arm of The Australian Ballet. Early 2001 saw Vicki assisting Stanton Welch in re-staging Madame Butterfly with The National Ballet of Canada for the ballet s North American debut, and subsequent American seasons with Atlanta Ballet, Boston Ballet and Houston Ballet in Later in 2003 Vicki oversaw the final staging of Madame Butterfly for the Royal New Zealand Ballet, and once again re-staged Madame Butterfly for The Australian Ballet in Vicki continues to teach at many major Sydney institutions, but more recently has become the Head of Academy Ballet s Semi Professional Programme. Vicki has produced her own unique pointe program, entitled 'My Pointe', and subsequently released the dvd/cd for commercial sale in 2010 with remarkable success. 'My Beginner Pointe' is a joint venture between Vicki and Lisa Howell, which is a holistic program specifically designed for young dancers and dance teachers alike, which covers the safe dance practices and aesthetic components involved in the instruction of pointe work. COMPETITION RULES 4. AGE LIMIT Competitors age will be taken as at the 1st Sept Evidence of birth date must be produced on request. Entrants must be of age stated in class. For Duos and Trios only a member may be of a younger age provided that the eldest is of the stated age. Where age is stated in groups, competitors must be within the stated age. 5. Please check your music complies 6. ENTRIES The committee reserve the right to combine or divide classes if entries so warrant. 7. Competitors may compete once only in each class, unless otherwise specified. 8. TITLES All titles must be entered on entry form, or given to Secretary by close of entries. 9. SCHOLARSHIPS This is an optional entry at a cost of $10.00 per section, and must be indicated on entry form at time of entry Competitors are required to dance in all relevant scholarship dances to be eligible. SENIOR TAP SCHOLARSHIP 15 YEARS & OVER to be decided over 4 dances, from Tap, Waltz, Slow, Latin, and Speed, eliminating dance selected for Tap Award. Scholarships are calculated on 5(1st), 3(2nd), 1(3rd) In the event of a tie, full points will be awarded to each competitor. 10. CLASSICAL VARIATIONS To be eligible for Classical Variations competitors must compete in their age group classical ballet class. 11. TAP CHAMPIONSHIPS To be eligible for Tap Championships competitors must have either won a restricted age group tap and had a second or third in an open tap, or have won an open tap class. 12. SMOKING Smoking is not permitted on the premises, or in the grounds of the Theatre 13. PASSES Passes are for the purchaser only and will be confiscated should any other person use them. 14. Competitors in a Championship may have one attempt only.

Each chorus must show a definite change of rhythm/speed, with no lead in between Winner s prize money will be presented at the conclusion of the Finals, and a photo taken for choruses. NOEL BURNETT SENIOR TAP AWARD Competitors are required to perform 3 dances i.e. 3 Speed Championship Tap, Impromptu Tap, and Own selection, (either Tap, Waltz, Slow, Latin, or Speed.) Must nominate chosen dance for own selection by close of entries. Entrants in this Award are required to submit CD and back-up copy of their 3 speed Championship music by 1st September. This will be checked for compliance. re Championship ruling as stated above. These will be held by the Society, used in the Award, and returned to each competitor at the conclusion of the class 17. JAZZ, AND TAP, AWARD WINNERS Winners are required to dance in the Final Concert, on Sunday 5th October where their winning prize money will be presented, and a photo taken for our website. 18. ORDER OF PERFORMANCE All competitors must dance in the order set out in the programme. Those not present when called, shall at the discretion of the committee, f forfeit their right to compete. 19. PROMPTING No prompting or assistance of any kind may be given during a performance, except by the adjudicator. 20. ADJUDICATOR The adjudicators decision is final. 21. COMMUNICATION WITH ADJUDICATOR by competitors or teachers during or prior to competitions is strictly prohibited. This does not apply to officers of the Society going about their normal duties. 22. PROTESTS Persons wishing to enter a protest must lodge same in writing, together with the grounds on which it is based, plus the sum of $100.00, within 12 hours of the Judges award. Should the protest on investigation, be considered frivolous, or unfounded, the deposit will be forfeited. 23. BACK STAGE No person other than officials or competitors will be allowed back stage or in the wings unless permission is granted by the Stage Manager. 24. DISTURBANCES The Society reserves the right to remove any persons from the premises should he or she cause a disturbance, upset a competitor, or a committee member. 25 VIDEOING No videoing, or use of cell phones or Tablets to take pictures is allowed unless a consent form is obtained from the Secretary. You may only film your child and the teacher and the competitor must have no objection to their item being filmed. 7 3 Speed Championship Tap (ruling as follows) Must be a minimum of 32 bars and maximum of 36 bars of music for each chosen chorus/tune of Slow, Medium, and Fast. Each chorus must show a definite change of rhythm/speed, with no lead in s between choruses. No other rhythms to be included, and choruses must not be split. Impromptu Tap (No set costume requirement) Own selection from following classes Tap, Slow, Waltz, Latin, Speed. (cannot enter class chosen for own selection in Open Section) e.g. If Tap is your dance of choice for the Tap Award, you cannot enter the Open Tap class Time Limit for set dances maximum of 4 minutes Entrants is this Award are required to submit CD and back-up copy of their 3 speed Championship music to the Secretary, by 1st September. Competitors in Group Dances must pay for a seat to watch in the Theatre. 28.
